  • Nikki found a crack in the shower tray of our 2012 Burstner Nexxo T660 so I made a temporary repair with some JB Weld.

Never had a duck board, I always thought they were to prevent the floor being completely wet when you need to use the toilet, as theres always water in it unless you dry it each time you use the shower. I would only ever had a sepatete shower now.

A separate shower would be ideal I guess.

Hi Alex. Duck board doesn't sound to exciting for the duck's. When finished showering they are to allow toy to stand out of the tray whilst it's still damp. Although the duck board will also be damp Personally I would leave the boards in whilst showering and put the ducks outside. Little buggers. Just to spread the load of course. I bet you missed tinkering with the motorhome things. Some drill a small hole at the end of the crack/shake to stop it from creeping. Hope all works out well don't fit the new one unless really need too. Fit it or put it when you decide to re-sell. Barging tool. Stay Safe and Enjoy.

In my opinion it's worth maintaining ones motorhome, keeping it as pristine as possible to retain as much value as possible.
    I do the same.
I imagine it'll be a bugger fitting that new tray, though.
Our van came without duck boards so I'm not sure of their purpose, however, my guess would be to shower without them, replacing them afterwards to give a dry surface on which to stand. Just guessing.

Yes, I definitely want to look after this van as well as possible, there is a lot of money tied up in it that may need to be released if circumstances unexpectedly change - although hopefully not!

Suppose duck boards where put in because they are non slip and look better than the tray on its own , but wood and water isn't a great combination it needs waterproofing regularly.

Yes, I think it's going to be a regular job!

We used clear polyurethane on our duck board. We leave it in.

Thanks, I suspect this may be a job left until autumn/winter if the temporary repair holds, since we have trips booked every weekend over the summer ☀️

Good work! 🙂 It'll be interesting to see how the repair holds up. You may be able to sell on/return the new tray...

I think I'll still fit the new tray but perhaps not until autumn/winter. If the old one has become a bit brittle with age it may crack again 🤔

@@ttxelaGood point. It would be interesting to know what type of plastic it is and whether it's prone to age cracking. Anyway, looking forward to the next video. 👍
