Jonny Oliveira if you read the description in another video on this channel, it is mentioned as a e46 prototype... basicly cause there is no similar part left to a street legal e46 except for the chassis. different engine, gearbox, suspension, exhaust, tires, rollcage etc

I bet my kidney that this engine is still a S54, it sounds exactly like a S54, and from the onboard camera you can clearly see that's an E46 chassis with roll cage, stripped down, Dogbox gearbox, etc. I bet that even the steering column is the stock one give that it has no near the "quickness" of a race car steering column. To be honest I don't know who writtes the descriptions, so it could well be wrong. I guarantee you that this is a just a road car M3 modified into race car (like 99% of the race cars are), and like any of the cars that are present in this rally. Even todays WRC cars have the same chassis as the road cars, it's just reinforced and modified for better rigidity and safety
Jonny Oliveira I think that was meant with writing prototype. I know it was a street legal e46 before it was modified. i guess they mean by prototype that you arent able to purchase the exact same car with similar stats cause its unique. btw you could be right with that engine.

its actually not a sequential gearbox its a manual but with faster shifts if im not mistaken he uses the clutch too from when i saw his car last
