I dont think Elon conflated nuclear power and nuclear war. He was just making the point that the risk posed by radiation has been overstated. Perhaps he made the point somewhat less carefully than a professional polictician or media person would have but I believe he is correct on this point and it is "in his lane" as it relates to low carbon energy. I'm very far from a fan of Musk but I'm glad he made this and other points to try and push trump away from his pro fossil fuel position.
