  • Acquilla Clemons lived on the north side of Tenth Street in Dallas. Clemons was sitting on the porch of her house when she saw Officer J. D. Tippit killed.
Afterwards she claimed that there were two men involved in the attack on Tippit. She later testified in a television documentary that the gunman was a "short guy and kind of heavy". The other man was tall and thin in khaki trousers and a white shirt. She also claimed that Dallas Police warned her not to repeat this story to others or "she might get hurt".
She said she had been visited by the FBI, who decided not to take a statement because of her poor health. Mrs. Clemons suffered from diabetes, hardly a condition to deter efficient investigators from taking a statement. According to two reporters, who visited Mrs. Clemons several years after the assassination, she and her family still spoke with conviction of seeing two men at the scene of the Tippit shooting. Mrs. Clemons' story finds corroboration from another witness, and he too was ignored."
Acquilla Clemons was not called to give evidence to the Warren Commission.

Dealey Plaza - The End of Camelot to see what really happened with all the conspiracy theories. The FBI agent in charge of tracking Marina Oswald James Hostsy harassed her and Ruth Paine unmercifully setting Lee off. They had no idea where Lee was or that he worked at the Texas Book Depository. Lee went to the Dallas Office looking for FBI agent James Hostsy. He was not in. Oswald was screaming and making threats to see him. He handed a note to his secretary to give to him in an envelope, contents not seen. On Friday, November 22 at 12:30 p.m., JFK was shot. On Sunday at 9:30 a.m., November 24, Agent Hostsy and the FBI Station Chief met at the Dallas FBI office and flushed down all notes and information about Oswald and his wife down the toilet. What about that Conspiracy?
In my research for Dealey Plaza - The End of Camelot, I went to Swarthmore College Library’s Ruth Paine section. I spent three mornings reviewing Oswald’s information.
I viewed a rough draft of a letter Oswald had scribbled on a plain piece of paper that Ruth Paine had found in her house. It was a strange, rambling letter with uneven margins all broken up, revealing a confused state of mind.
I have studied people’s handwriting most of my life. His handwriting was unclear, meandering across the page, very childlike, a scribble in places, unsteady with no continuity. His grammar poor. A bizarre letter - wandering, nonsensical.
What engrossed me was his “Signature Block.” It was a jumble that screamed an indescribable horror leaping out at me from the page, frightening me, captivating me for minutes. It was like looking into hell only worse. I saw the “Embodiment of Evil,” a horrifying numbing experience, a horror beyond description.

Because the shells were called in as an automatic, it would seem her story is credible with Detective Leavelle stating the same that he saw the shells right next to each other. There had to be more than one shooter. And since the bullets and the hulls did not match the revolver found on Oswald, obviously the investigation of the Tippit Murder was shoddy. Maybe it was not by accident.

White shoots him dead and they take off in different directions.

The words of Acquilla Clemons, sitting on her porch 60 yards away and looking in between two houses, do not take precedence over the statements of five witnesses who were right there within 10-20 yards and watched the killer shoot the officer, and flee the scene, ejecting hulls from his revolver. Clemons was obviously talking about Domingo Benividas, a witness not a shooter, whom she reported as being "short and heavy."

-He’s not going into any depth beyond what he wants Mrs. Clemons to portray (eg. what were you doing when you heard the shots.)
-He’s not asking obvious questions that would diminish her veracity (eg. how far away were you from the shooting? In truth she was 300 feet away!)
-Her observations were made from far away and her descriptions were probably mistaken (ie. the ‘bushy haired man’ was a perfect description of Domingo Benavides.)
-Mrs. Clemons is not answering the questions naturally. She answered the questions without any thought as if she knew what was coming-as if she’d been primed to answer a certain way-unnatural witness response.
-A prosecution lawyer would have a field day with her and her responses!
If you’d like more I could go further but this video has many potential problems. There’s no way a defense lawyer would put her on the stand giving this type of testimony!

Why didn’t they just silence him. It would have been easy. He wasn’t that famous, he was wandering around openly, he was actively recruiting whistleblowers, so why didn’t the conspirators just silence him instead of someone like Mrs. Clemons?

Oswald managed to get out of Dealey Plaza, he panicked and shot the first cop to approach him, he was seen trying to hide from passing police and seen ducking into the theater to dodge more passing police, you can't figure this out?
      Clemons' story:
"This woman" didn't even see the actual shooting and her words make it clear she saw at best a shooter and a bystander who was almost certainly Benavides or Cimino.
You neglected to mention that other witnesses much closer to Tippit than Clemons firmly said there was but one shooter, and in fact nearly a dozen witnesses ID'd Oswald as the man they saw shoot Tippit and flee.
The same Oswald caught red-handed minutes later trying to shoot a second cop and who observed, "Well, they say it only takes a minute to die" after asking about the penalty for cop-killing.
The same Oswald who owned and was in possession of the revolver to which the shells from the crime scene were matched.
      Oswald's rifle:
Victims' reactions in Zapruder's film clearly demonstrate 3 shots over 8-9 seconds. That's child's play for a Mannlicher Carcano.
Oswald's wife saw him practice with that bolt-action rifle for hours on end.
For just two examples, you can see Josiah Thompson in Who Killed President Kennedy and John K. Lattimer in Beyond Conspiracy easily operate that kind of gun within that time frame.
Oswald scored 18 out of 20 in rapid fire at targets 200 yards away as per his Marines scorecard and Kennedy was a slow-moving target a maximum of 88 yards away.
All bullets and fragments ever found were matched to Oswald's rifle.

@@arcanondrum6543 That leads me to this question. If you watch closely any fil footage showing the swearing in of president Johnson on Air Force One, you will see Dallas police chief Jesse Currie being there. I thought that only federal people would be present at the swearing in. Yes being chief of police of an important city like Dallas is a high position, but it is part of local government . "Saw him pretty many times." Isn't that odd? This was not his patrol route, and he didn't live anywhere near this neighborhood. Several other witnesses said the same thing. One woman said, "Tippit's Car was parked in front of the house where he LIVED." Did Tippit know someone at that house? Is that why he was there? Was he meeting someone there? There are so many other witnesses that were not included in the Warren Commission Investigation. Mrs Holland or Hollum stated she saw a 2nd Police car in the alley that Tippit's car was blocking. Virginia Davis stated that the first Police officer (Croy) was on site within seconds of Oswald walking towards 10th and Patton during his escape. How could that be?

As usual, you have completely missed the point. The question is not, why wouldn't he park in front of his house? The question IS why would anyone think he lived there when he clearly didn't and didn't patrol that area? He was recognized because he was there all the time because his lover lived on that street at that home. So obviously there is more to this story than meets the eye, and is probably way beyond your comprehension. @@peterfraser9070

Oswald owned and was in possession of the gun the shells were matched to.
Oswald was plainly seen trying to hide from passing police.
Oswald was plainly seen ducking into a theater to dodge more passing police.
Oswald was caught red-handed trying to shoot the first officer to approach him inside.
Oswald fought police so violently 3 officers were injured just disarming him.
Oswald observed, "Well, they say it only takes a minute to die" after asking about the penalty for cop-killing.
What exactly is the POINT of attacking a cop on a public street, since Oswald is already going to be sought anyway and if anything goes wrong here they will just end up confirming a conspiracy exists?

Also, it was always very obtuse about how Clint Hill got onto the back of the car with Jackie. Earlier windows of the footage show him riding on the side of the back up car. Somehow he managed to run up and jump on JFK's car stepping onto the bumper footstand and leaping onto the back of the car. Many accounts had him somehow walking along. So many strange stories.
Strange these bumper stands were never brought up or revealed in the hundreds and hundreds of footage and photos I saw about the assasination. The bumper stands that were not there are there. Very mysterious. The hand rail to hang on is clearly visible on the right side of the car. More disproven conspiracy stories. It just goes on and on.
Emory Roberts rode shotgun in the back up car head of the Secret Service Detail that day at Dealey Plaza. When the President got shot, Emory Roberts was in charge thereafter. Nobody ever talks about that. He took charge of everything, and immediately got Johnson onto Air Force One to leave Dallas and be sworn in going to Washington or if necessary a safe place to protect him. Emory was my neighbor in Wheaton, Md. on Holdridge Rd.
Most of this is in Dealey Plaza - The End of Camelot by William Wells
In the early morning it was scheduled to rain in Dallas and the Secret Service was setting up to install the canopy on the car. The forecast changed and the President wanted to be seen by the crowds, and besides the President did not want ir put on. So it was not put on.
So as to not make JFK negligent in his death, it was bandied about that there were no foot stands on the rear of the car for Secret Service to ride on. Clearly you can see two foot stands on the rear bumper of the car with handrails to hang on. Clint Hills is stepping on one to get onto the back of the car to be with Jackie. There is just bogus story after bogus story surrounding JFK's assasination.
