I know some people are complaining about the lights in the vibration but for someone who has no vision that is the only way we are able to participate in the game. I understand why they did not enable egg, auto thorough for gray or ultra balls but in my opinion, they should to make the game more accessible. This game really needs accessibility options such as enabling screen readers to work properly, and. allowing sound navigation apps, such as voice vista to allow blind and low vision players to locate PokéStops via audio beacon. Again, I am very grateful for this device as it allows me to engage more with the game that I love and not just look to see what I get at the end of the day.
As someone who's also visually impaired I'm reliant on the vibration cues to know what actions are being performed by my Poke Ball Plus (I use mine for stop/gym spinning); as I use as a white cane when outside, it's not always convenient to try and glance at the device for any light reactions to Poke Stop/Gym locations. I'm excited for my pre-order to arrive tomorrow (21st July release for the UK), so I just use my PB+ for accumulating steps for Let's Go or gen 8 without fear of missing a callout due to spot/gym spinning; also, I primarily bought the device for Sleep, POGO usage is a bonus.

Been using the Go Plus + since the release date. All around very much enjoy using it. Downfall for me is I tried to double dip during the spotlight hour, with the Go Plus + catching 1 pokemon while I manual caught another. The device did not like this and would stop tracking pokemon.
I’ve had this with other devices. You still can do a double dip but it’s a bit more effort. If you’re encounter lasts longer then the device sees you’re already in and pauses for a couple minutes.

There will most likely be some third party catchers with the new stuff soon. Kinda disappointed that you can’t select which pokemon you want to use great or ultra balls on
The plus+ has some issues but if you reset using the small button located on the backside it clears up the issues. Overall I'm happy with the results and think its capabilities are worth spending $$$$.
Thats an interesting note, because that would suggest a boot software install problem on the factory end. Theres probably an 0 that should be an O somewhere it the first boot program thats causing the issues.
First of all, massive respect for not recommending people to fake through the sleep processes. 👏 One of the few people out there not doing that. Great review, although I have one suggestion for improvement. You could have added the pro, or at least the thought of Pokemon Sleep into your final verdict. Cause Sleep is a pretty fun and well made game that technically works with the phone, but is way more convenient to use with this device, cause you don't have to keep your phone active and on the charger for the whole night. Also the Go rewards over a longer timeframe do add up and are pretty fun too so if people have fun with Sleep and like the Go connectivity to Sleep too, it's a major plus point for purchasing it already. I'm invested into Sleep currently, "catching" new Pokemon, finding Shinies there, leveling stuff up, so for my purchase decision this takes a big part of it.
There was a snapshot of someone getting 10'000 dust from 4 hours of sleep from the device a couple of days before it dropped, i think it builds up into better rewards the more times you do it
Might be a good time for a re-review; were the bugs fixed, does silent mode work... And (a question I wanted to get answered) does PoGo need to be "on top" or can you swap to other apps/phone calls and have PG++ keep catching in the background?
I think the plus + needs a little time because it has more funcions than the pokeball, and can of course use different balls now. An catcher that stops catching is something that happened to me a lot with different catchers
Pokeball plus did have silent mode , but it was only for when you had a pokemon inside the ball. I believe you have to hold the top and middle button for 5 seconds and it silences the pokemon in the ball, but the pokemon go + + and pokeball plus are virtually the same in function in terms of lights and vibration. This has a 500mah battery , pokeball plus had a 220mah battery. But they both last pretty long.
Poke Ball Plus: Hold the top button, and move the control stick to the down position for a few seconds to enter silent mode; then, to re-enable sound, hold the top button, and move the control stick to the up position for a few seconds. I like to think of it as a volume slider.
@@PChampoo is it only because of the auto catch? The pokeball plus with the button pressed trick also does it, or is there something else game changer for you?
I have one & got my roommate one. When it works it is amazing, although we have had issues with it disconnecting as much as the original plus. Now I have been told tips and tricks which has lowered that although even with the better connectivity you need the autocatchers where you can feel/hear it otherwise you have to check regularly to make sure it is connected.
I’ve never used an auto catcher. I was interested in how the company would do in launching this. Seems like they did like they always do and got it 80% right. I work during spotlight hour so need it to be silent and unobtrusive. They should have made this possible.
6 months after, did they do any changes? (like fixing the bugs, changing the vibrations and lights, making it possible to auto catch pokemons with great/ultra balls and stuff like that)?
Lights are annoying. Still on, but there are stickers on AMZ that you can place over and dim the lights. Vibrations are annoying, but there are YT videos that show how to remove a weight from the motor to eliminate the noise. And no Auto Catch with great/ultra balls.
I have ordered it and it is coming tomorrow for me. Despite the pros and cons, one of the main reasons why I order it, is that it does not break the games of serve rules. You never know with Niantic, so I like to be on the safe side of things when it comes to technical rules and warnings.
In these instructions, where it says, alarms, lights, sound and vibration will be turned off when in silent mode it’s talking about literal alarms, because with the pokemon sleep app, you should be able to set up alarms like an alarm to wake up from bed so it’s not actually talking about the buzzing and light flashing from playing Pokémon go
I have had so many problems witth mine since launch :( Today during make up com day, it wouldn't throw great/ultra balls I am REALLY hoping a patch or a firmware update can fix these issues with the Plus+, I love the design but I miss my Duomon cause it just...worked
i turned off vibration by simply shoving paper into the gap between the motor and the side. totally reversible!! id recommend that rather than cutting if you’re not sure
Also I just wanted to add that there is a wake up alarm feature for this device that can only be activated if you connect the device to Pokemon Sleep. Imo this is a really interesting feature because there may be Pikachu may hum the Pokémon Go background music as the wake up alarm and the more you sleep, the more alarm sounds you may unlock. Wake up alarm pros and cons: Pros: The alarm will not ring if you wake up early and stop tracking sleep Cons: You cannot set a different time for different days of the week and the alarm will not ring if you haven’t started tracking sleep with the device 90 minutes before the scheduled alarm time.
Hey great video I have a few old auto catchers can you do an update on every catcher currently on the market? Ik you have a few videos on the topic already just the latest and greatest? If not I understand keep up the great content
It spins stops while im driving and working, i usually have around 200+ balls for my walks after work. If i set it to autocatch itll throw around 120 balls during my shift and catch 50-60 pokemon a day. I like it.
Just got mine in the mail this morning. Gotta say it is realllyyyyy nice to not have to manually catch everything. Getting catches during raids or while driving to work is superb.
I don't get why Niantic does things half assed at times. Those magnets could have been easily a bit stronger Also, the vibration and flashing... sometimes you don't want your devices to do that. Still, it does represent a leap forward... which I feel is well past time. :)
Thinking about buying Does the game need to be fully on to auto catch? or can I go away from my phone and sort of adventure sync auto catch while the phone is on another app or away
Well I am replying to your comment now with Pokémon go and the plus ball set up in the background 😂 I often do that at home because got a pokestop outside my house so just let it do it’s thing while watching you tube or whatever
Yes! I realized you just have to connect it again now which is kinda annoying. What I do is connect it, then go to where it says connected devices see that it’s on and that seems to re-establish the connection. Hope that makes sense. Super annoying but it does still work.
All non nintendo autocatchers have had problem since the first software update at the start of july. They're still playing catchup, if at all, because it feels like a herculean task to update a gotcha evolve.
The only thing I wanna point out about the 3rd party competitive device that may end up releasing is that the focus of the 3rd party device will possibly be only Pokémon GO. The whole drive for the PGP+ is Pokémon Sleep and it’s compatibility with Pokémon GO being the big bonus it brought. 3rd Party will most likely only be able to focus on Pokémon GO. And i could be wrong! Maybe they will find a work around to be able to use their device for both. Regardless, great video! Gave me the balance I was looking for in information. Thank you!
I was wondering why the magnet inside the clip was so weak, too. Turns out it's meant to be attached to your pillow so it won't fall down from your bed! That way you can put the clip on the pillow and just grab the Plus+ without taking the pillow with you :)
Love mine, previously had a Gotcha Ranger. The auto-reconnect is great, as I had difficulties connecting my Gotcha at times. I was excited for the sleep tracking but once I complete the missions, I'm probably uninstalling Pokémon Sleep. It's just not as accurate as my Pixel Watch sleep tracking and sometimes gets turned off in the middle of the night, picks up movement from my partner or animals in the bed, can fall off the bed, etc... Plus, the rewards in GO aren't really enough to keep it up. I'm disappointed you can't turn off vibrations and very disappointed you can't click to manually catch a better mon with Great or Ultra balls... I was envisioning it as auto-catching and spinning with regular pokeballs, then when I saw it target something I need more, I could click the button to throw an ultra ball... Would help immensely while walking my dog... I don't understand at all why you have to turn off auto catch in order to throw a great/ultra ball.
The only thing I can see the new gen of auto catchers doing better than is having to click to catch with great and ultra balls. I bought one and its been great! I have the same reservations as you. Vibration and bright lights are annoying.
I don't know if the product is just super unreliable for the iphone but I have had to manually press the middle button to catch/spin 95% of the time during the past 2-3 days. Even with all the auto options turned on, it doesn't do auto 95% of the time, which is a huge disappointment that the Official Pokemon product is this unreliable.
@@ImKoreanJeezus Factory Reset seems to have fixed my issue now, hopefully this was the solution. Thanks! edit: nvm it worked like it is supposed to for almost 1 hr then back to being manual, might have to just return this and wait for a better device in the future.
I got mine day 1 and it's my first auto catcher device. I definitely do not regret purchasing the Plus+! The device is super helpful especially when you're driving. I tend to be driving a lot whether it be to work, school, errands, etc and it spins the stops quickly and auto catch accordingly :) Hopefully future updates improve the Plus+ I've experienced the device turning off after an hour or so and I'm not sure if that is intentional. Overall, great investment for me :)
Yeah, sadly I seen in another video that most of all auto catchers seem to shut off after an hour. This is also my first auto catcher and I was experiencing some issues with it auto spinning in the beginning, but it seemed to be a lot better today while I was dashing. Thanks for the information about the button for resetting I didn’t know about that.
Turning off after an hour is done on purpose by Nintendo/Niantic. You need to reconnect every hour, it gets disconnected on the Pokémon GO app's side not the auto catcher. They basically want you to open the app at least once an hour to use the auto catchers.
@@ZNotFound that honestly makes sense, I didn’t know that part about it. Just seen someone mention in a different video about it being done on purpose. That every other auto catcher also does it too.
Okay so my issue is that I want it to mainly spin stops for me and it seems like it’s programmed to prioritize catching first. Which is a problem because if there are mons around a stop and you have no balls it will keep trying to catch its target and never spin the stop.
When other third party go++ is released what could they make better (other than lights and vibrations)? Like can I expect other devices having better catch rate or maybe that they can use other balls automatically ?
catch rates are hardcoded in the game. Id guess improvements would be only for go and not sleep; wristband version no vibration or toggleable. And maybe some software where it can use great or ultra balls autocatch.
As someone who isn’t a tryhard. and was just curious if it’s worth it. i’ve used it a few days now. and my only problem is. you better travel by poke stops. because you gonna be catching everything. it does spin poke stops however if you’re driving going above 50mph you’re prob not gonna get any stops but when you stop or slow down you will see it go off. last thing is you’re literally a walking disco ball. so if you don’t mind a blinking poke ball that vibrates. have fun! definitely worth it if you play often and have poke balls consistanly
I really am loving this autocatcher! I had some issues with connection when first getting it connected and playing my game on my phone vs tablet and using it with them. I couldnt figure out how to reset it like the button you push with a pen on the pokeball. But i found that turning my bluetooth off and on fixes it for me
Nice video man I actually got one my first auto catcher so I have nothing to compare it to but its pretty cool the main thing I like is it spinning stops for you but like you said it can kind of be glitchy at times but most of the time it works great. You are so right about the light and the vibration though especially if you are at work and you want it to be more chill.
My experience has varied the most when in motion - at around 35/mph/55kph, auto spinning is anecdotally more reliable with a Duomon for me. I tested driving by 20 stops, the Duomon spun all 20 and the Plus+ spun 12 of the 20. I repeated in a few places with a similar outcome. YMMV and I’m sure the Plus+ will continue to improve with more updates but I am sticking with the Duomon for now.
Actually, The Go Gatcha does work with diferent balls. All you have to do is set Pokemon Go to use the last ball used, and throw with another ball and it willl throw with that ball until it runs out. As tempting as it is to purchase this device for the new recearch, I can't see spending $60 us dollars on this device., estecally with all the bugs it has. If it was half that I would consider it.
I am thinking of buying it and using it during my vacations and stuff. My question is; do you need to have the app open and do you always need an internet connection of some sorts?
It's been 8 months now, now third party auto catchers that can auto throw great and ultras have been released. I read that Go Plus + is harder to reverse engineer
How fast can you travel d get the poke stops. I have lots of Pokemon at work but I need more inventory. I would like to take a quick pass through down town and get 20 pokestops to build inventory.
I've been looking around and it doesn't seem there's anything out that can autocatch with super or ultra balls. Is the plus+ still the best on the market rn?
I got mine day 1 and at first I loved it! It was working great and people found a glitch to auto catch using great and ultra balls! Then Niantic found out and released a forced update for POGO on I believe Monday. That update completely killed the usability of the plus plus. Mine refused to use auto catch at all and would just not connect for whatever reason. Happy to report though, as of this morning (Wednesday 7/19) there was another update and now it seems to be working better than ever! No longer can use the great and ultra ball glitch for auto catch but at least it is working as advertised and intended. I’ve used a handful of auto catchers over the years and all things considered (assuming the thing doesn’t start crapping out again) I’m really happy with this device. There are some cons as stated here but I can’t really knock it tbh.
I get mine tomorrow hopefully so I haven’t been able to test it out for myself but I’ve heard you aren’t able to do it. Only thing I can think that wasn’t covered or spoke about was attaching something like a clip to the button to effectively make it an auto catcher for great or ultra ball (like you had with the pokeball plus) I’ve heard that you can’t do this with the new device, is this correct. A thing I think would be a nice feature improvement if other companies reverse engineer and improve on it is if you are manually clicking having 3 buttons so you can choose pokeball/great or ultra on an individual basis, probably something that might not be possible but a cool option, most people probably want their devices to automatically catch in great or ultra so hopefully these companies can achieve that
I got a Go-tcha Evolved late 2022 and I was a little bothered that this one came out less than a year later, but I just got the Plus + and I personally like it better than the Go-tcha Evolved! The catch and spin rate is considerably faster in the Plus + and connecting it is both faster and better! Also, not having to open it and connect half a USB-A port, but a normal USB-C port (with cable included) is amazing! (Plus the options it brings with Pokémon Sleep as an alarm lol) P.S: I was wondering if there was a way to remove the vibration (I don't really like it in any device), but just got to the part when you say you can't unless you physically alter it :/
Kinda annoyed that my Go-Tcha has been having connection issues the last week or so. I need to make it forget and then repair it to the phone each time I want to use it. Also its not just mine either, my friend is having issues with hers as well.
I’ve actually just ordered my + Plus off the back of this video, although you said potentially wait, I’m on the grind for 50k mons Plat medal and this will help! Plus GO FEST WITH AUTOCATCHER YES PLEASE 😂
personally I like my go++ the only negative side for me is open the go++ in the game options to make it start running if it doesn't start catching or spinning right away.

Do you hold it down or just press it?
@@MicrowavedTurtle Normally with reset buttons you hold them down.
I preordered mine and the directions it came with and game settings were a bit confusing to me. I appreciated your breakdown of how to use it!
Was it worth the upgrade from pokeball plus to plus +?
@machi992 actually yes , bigger battery life and autocatch makes a different , but I could go either way
@@PChampoo is it only because of the auto catch? The pokeball plus with the button pressed trick also does it, or is there something else game changer for you?
@machi992 the option to choose great and ultra balls too
I have one & got my roommate one. When it works it is amazing, although we have had issues with it disconnecting as much as the original plus.
Now I have been told tips and tricks which has lowered that although even with the better connectivity you need the autocatchers where you can feel/hear it otherwise you have to check regularly to make sure it is connected.
Man, this is gonna make shiny hunting during Community Days soooooooo much more easier.
I would be scared to use it, every failed throw would be a potential shiny lost T_T
Given your outro, curious to know - as of 4/10/2024 - how it has fared for you? Has there been an update post on the unit? ty!
This is my first foray into auto catchers and I'm liking it. Yes it's loud and flashy but I really don't care how people view my poke addiction.
10 months now, any update?
Lights are annoying. Still on, but there are stickers on AMZ that you can place over and dim the lights. Vibrations are annoying, but there are YT videos that show how to remove a weight from the motor to eliminate the noise. And no Auto Catch with great/ultra balls.
4:47 4:50 😅 5:00 5:02 😅 5:03 😅 5:11 😅😮
I have ordered it and it is coming tomorrow for me. Despite the pros and cons, one of the main reasons why I order it, is that it does not break the games of serve rules. You never know with Niantic, so I like to be on the safe side of things when it comes to technical rules and warnings.
I got it, and it's interesting. Thank you Daxi for your video. I am looking forward to see you at NY GoFest
Does it throw curve balls and does it do nice, great, or excellent throws..... also how does it work if driving and not walking around
Really like the that you compared the different catching devices
In these instructions, where it says, alarms, lights, sound and vibration will be turned off when in silent mode it’s talking about literal alarms, because with the pokemon sleep app, you should be able to set up alarms like an alarm to wake up from bed so it’s not actually talking about the buzzing and light flashing from playing Pokémon go
I have had so many problems witth mine since launch :(
Today during make up com day, it wouldn't throw great/ultra balls
I am REALLY hoping a patch or a firmware update can fix these issues with the Plus+, I love the design but I miss my Duomon cause it just...worked
Why did you stop using the Duomon?
@@LionessHiker It was inconsistent with connections the Go++ has been signficantly better with connections
6 months later. Is this more recommendable than the other catchers? Did they fix the bugs?
I'm wondering the same
I do like the GotCha much better. It’s faster in my opinion and less buggy. Although the gotcha does use way more poke balls rapidly
I won’t lie I love this thing and clicking it when it lights up green gives me serotonin
This is definitely a nice new device to shake up the auto catching world! Love the comparison video 🙏
i was leaning toward this until i realized auto-throw only works with regular pokeballs, and you have to manually push to use the Great/Ultra balls.
Great comparison on the auto catchers!
How do you feel about it now?
Yea same question
I honestly don't like it, but it works for now. Thank you for your view, and I can't wait until you review the next and possibly better alternative!
i turned off vibration by simply shoving paper into the gap between the motor and the side. totally reversible!! id recommend that rather than cutting if you’re not sure
Wake up alarm pros and cons:
Pros: The alarm will not ring if you wake up early and stop tracking sleep
Cons: You cannot set a different time for different days of the week and the alarm will not ring if you haven’t started tracking sleep with the device 90 minutes before the scheduled alarm time.
Could you please let me know what one you would recommend now!?
It’s been a few months any updates? Worth it? Is there a better one now?
U cant silence the Vibrations still..... So anoying
Hey great video I have a few old auto catchers can you do an update on every catcher currently on the market? Ik you have a few videos on the topic already just the latest and greatest? If not I understand keep up the great content
Nice that they are embracing the auto catching now!
1:40 "a little pull disconnects this thing"
*pulls on it and it stays connected*
Thinking about buying
Does the game need to be fully on to auto catch? or can I go away from my phone and sort of adventure sync auto catch while the phone is on another app or away
Well I am replying to your comment now with Pokémon go and the plus ball set up in the background 😂 I often do that at home because got a pokestop outside my house so just let it do it’s thing while watching you tube or whatever
Thank you for making the best Pokemon Go plus + video out there!!!
Thanks for your in depth vids Daxi, hope to get mine eventually.
Is anybody auto catchers not working/connecting? I have the 24/7 catchers and as soon as the ++ dropped, I just have issues every day.
Have the bugs been fixed yet before I get one?
The only thing I wanna point out about the 3rd party competitive device that may end up releasing is that the focus of the 3rd party device will possibly be only Pokémon GO. The whole drive for the PGP+ is Pokémon Sleep and it’s compatibility with Pokémon GO being the big bonus it brought.
3rd Party will most likely only be able to focus on Pokémon GO. And i could be wrong! Maybe they will find a work around to be able to use their device for both.
Regardless, great video! Gave me the balance I was looking for in information. Thank you!
Been waiting on this 🔥😮💨
I was wondering why the magnet inside the clip was so weak, too.
I've been having this issue too, I've been reading you need to factory reset the Device to have it auto catch properly again.
@@ZNotFound Ahhh that makes sense. Thank you!
@@jmthebigman getting a auto with ultra balls is almost better catch rate so in that case I'll prob hold until that's available
@@axel8912 I understand ya, im pretty sure it will happen. Same as with the og, will need a 3rd party app for sure.
10 months later, would you recommend it ?
Thanks!! been waiting on your video to make my decision. You're the best!!
Honestly, as annoying as the vibration is if it’s disabled then it makes it sort of useless for the great and ultra ball manual button feature.
YMMV and I’m sure the Plus+ will continue to improve with more updates but I am sticking with the Duomon for now.
same here, i’m sure there’s going to be a new duomon soon that’s 10x better
I saw someone on reddit saying they got banned because they use Duomon.
Nice Dax!
My question is; do you need to have the app open and do you always need an internet connection of some sorts?
well, Pokemon Go does require internet at all times (wifi or mobile data doesnt matter)
Poké Daxi disco party was hilarious 😂
I hope one day I can get an auto catcher so I can cruise around and not have to mindlessly spin and catch anything coming up
Im wondering if any of the 3rd party autocatchers that exist now can actually be used on pkmn sleep or if it's still just exclusive to the plus plus
At least in the US opening a product DOES NOT void the warranty.
8 months later, nothing new. But I ordered my first auto catcher, the go plus +. It'll be here in 2 days 😁
How did you enjoy it? Did it still have the bugs featured in the video?
Please make an updated video about the plus +
It's been 8 months now, now third party auto catchers that can auto throw great and ultras have been released. I read that Go Plus + is harder to reverse engineer
How fast can you travel d get the poke stops. I have lots of Pokemon at work but I need more inventory. I would like to take a quick pass through down town and get 20 pokestops to build inventory.
Are you able to auto-catch using Great and Ultra balls if you use something to hold the button? Kinda like we used to auto-catch with original Go+..
No, doesn't work on the plus + as of now.
I've been looking around and it doesn't seem there's anything out that can autocatch with super or ultra balls. Is the plus+ still the best on the market rn?
Why can't it move up to great balls and ultra balls once you run out of poke?
Great review, I like your thoughts on waiting to buy
Has there been a better one that has come out?
Interesting breakdown. I need to get one now. But your right. I will wait a few months. Thanks!!
The clip in the very least does help keep it in my bed so far.
I’d suggest waiting for a better third party one or go with duomon
It's now 7 months later... Has it been topped?
Wait, now the old pokemon go plus can do autocatching? On the speed comparission u did not press any button on the old pokemon go plus
A thing I think would be a nice feature improvement if other companies reverse engineer and improve on it is if you are manually clicking having 3 buttons so you can choose pokeball/great or ultra on an individual basis, probably something that might not be possible but a cool option, most people probably want their devices to automatically catch in great or ultra so hopefully these companies can achieve that
Can you make a year update on this now pls .. to see if you found a third party one that is better 😊
(Plus the options it brings with Pokémon Sleep as an alarm lol)
P.S: I was wondering if there was a way to remove the vibration (I don't really like it in any device), but just got to the part when you say you can't unless you physically alter it :/
Not via Software. It can only be done Physically
Kinda annoyed that my Go-Tcha has been having connection issues the last week or so. I need to make it forget and then repair it to the phone each time I want to use it. Also its not just mine either, my friend is having issues with hers as well.
I can’t even get mine to pair. I’ve followed every step that niantic support gives me but still nothing
Have you charged it?
@@SvanteTrackAndField yes I have. I charged it over night. It turns on and detects it but when I try to pair it says it failed to pair
That singing voice is actually scary for me🤣
I’ve actually just ordered my + Plus off the back of this video, although you said potentially wait, I’m on the grind for 50k mons Plat medal and this will help! Plus GO FEST WITH AUTOCATCHER YES PLEASE 😂
personally I like my go++ the only negative side for me is open the go++ in the game options to make it start running if it doesn't start catching or spinning right away.
