How about that middle riff? You can see now why they’re held in such high regard with old dudes like me. Heavy metal bands at this time were bands like Ratt, Poison and Motley Crue. It was spandex clad, mic stand humping party rock. It was terrible. Metallica didn’t do any of that shit. They wrote songs about war, suicide and injustice and tried to melt your face off at the same time. They were exactly what was needed at exactly the right time. I’ll always love them for it.
@@sonusworld666 How do you measure that? The tempo is 192 bpm, I think, but he doesn't really tap anywhere near as fast as One, so I doubt he reaches the same note intensity. Dyer's Eve is also pretty "fast", I suppose. Damage Inc, however, is undoubtedly one of his best solos. Perfect mix of melody and shred, and I love the tremolo picked melodies!
MetalForTheMasses I said it’s one of his fastest and yes Dyers Eve is also Real Fast The Damage Inc solo does not have so much tapping compared to one you’re right only towards the end . Kirk is One of my All Time Favorite Lead Players - No doubt about that -- Metallica Forever 🤘🤘
How refreshing to see someone react to Metallica without being fake to appeal to their subscribers . Take it from a 60 year old that has and continues to enjoy their greatness and genius . Almost 40 years now . Thank you for being honest .
Yooooooo Dave🔥🔥🔥🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘 def a thrash classic. And we have only begun the journey down the hole brotha. It gets better!!!!! Thank for making time easier for me right now. I'm a bartender and I'm out of work till this virus is over. So thank you brotha🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
I wore out two cassettes of the Master of Puppets album in the late 80s, and am on my third copy of the cd... it never gets old, a masterpiece. Still keep it in my car. And this song finishes it off in style.
Dave, imagine us lifelong Metallica fans listening for over 30 years, waiting album by album to hear all of these incredible songs. You get to have them all ....one after another at your fingertips. Great to see your enthusiasm build as you dig deeper into the Metallica catalog. Thank you for keeping it real.
Black album and albums after it - all were 1 big disappointment. 1-2 good songs on each album (except fking anger - completelly trash) and no thrash song at all.
*opening is the stop light turning red* "i dont know whats about to happen *intro is sign turning from dont walk to walk* *main riff is the concrete truck barreling through the red light and plowing into you while youre in the crosswalk* this one hits almost as hard as battery, but battery gets the edge since its the first track on the album
it's not trash: they have a melody. riffs are hard, fast but still melodic and the lyrics are outstanding. that's why they are so good. And the tempo changes....
You need to do their best song, Master of Puppets! Im sure you've got this recommended a lot already! But I'd recommend doing the same as what you did for Blackened. Listen to the studio verson first and then the live version, same concert as Blackened, Seattle 89. Great reactions man!
Hiya buddy. Great reactions by the way. Youve reacted to some old stuff, why not crack on with a newer track called "spit out the bone". This will show they have still got it after over 30 years.
I'd like to suggest a piece for you to react to. It's totally different from this but still kind of related. The piece is by Bach and is called Come, Sweet Death. Cliff (Burton) said that piece served as inspiration for the intro to Damage Inc. so much so that he had to ask Kirk to make sure the two weren't too similar. It's been recorded many times, of course, but if you search youtube for "Bach 'Come, Sweet Death' ('Komm, süsser Tod') - Stokowski conducts" you'll get a phoretty good one! This may totally not be the kind of music you want to react to, but one can always hope =)
@@DaveDissects honestly you're only one who seems to actually be paying attention to the song while others are too busy making it seem like they're into it

They were game changers Tom! I understand why they have such a strong fan base
@@DaveDissects hell yeah!!! WELCOME TO METALLICA FAMILY, THEN!!!!! 🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
Tom Wolfe Fuck yeah, Tom!!
Metallica = LORDS of Thrash 🤘🤘
If you haven't seen it already, check out the documentary: "Get Thrashed". It's about how and why the thrash scene started.
This is one of Kirk's most underrated solos.
Absolutely and also one of his Fastest 👍👍🤘🤘

U just heard an awesome thrash song, and a perfect bookend (along with “Battery”) to a perfect Metal album, the best ever! 🤘
The riff on 3:32...it was bad ass man. Kirk nailed it.
5:48 - They also lulled you into a false sense of relaxation at the intro..... 5:53 - ALL of those 3!!

CREEPING DEATH. MOSCOW 91. 👍❤️
Loving your reaction to Metallica. Especially to Anesthesia. Thank you! 🤘
no, THANKcYOU for watching !
I appreciate it 😎🤘
My favorite intro ever. So touchy.
You should listen to the unforgiven trilogy for a change of pace. All three are on different albums. All really good.
Nathan H I love the 1st and the 3rd! The 2nd one tho...Idk man 😂
@@soloangel7773 you have the good, the bad sequel, then the redemption piece. Just like any movie trilogy
What you heard in the beginning was the Bass Intro by the Late Great Clifford Lee Burton - R.I.P. 🤘🤘
Last piece he ever recorded
asphalt cowboy Sure
I loooooove that intro so much. Need more music that is just like the intro.
1:37 your reaction is priceless. haha
Pure energy giver song!
Such a good way to close out an album. Doesn't get any better than this.
I’d agree with you, if a little song called Dyers Eve didn’t exist.
it's not trash: they have a melody. riffs are hard, fast but still melodic and the lyrics are outstanding. that's why they are so good. And the tempo changes....
3:42 That is a beast of a riff
Exactly.. complexity reminding me of AJFA eventhough this was before!

na do Metal Militia instead
They kill it bro🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
That solo part at 4:25. That shit rocks bro
Great to see a new Metallica fan! Check out For Whom the Bell Tolls from Cliff ‘me All and Master of Puppets live Seattle ‘89.

Slayer - Raining Blood
nice chill song
Leonardo F. C. 😂😬
Kerry King of Slayer said this is Metallica's best song.
What about another instrumental? The call of Ktulu is a trip
man you gotta do disposable heroes from the same album.
Already done it

My favorite Metallica song. Incredible solos 🤘🏻🔥
I could really tell you liked it
Leper Messiah
One of their best, hands down.
Thoron Thol My No.1 song on Master Of Puppets, very underrated
The music is only half of metallicas brillance.....the lyrics are the other half.....deep and thought provoking
You should listen to it live...damage inc. live quebec magnetic!!!! thank you !!!
Or try Fixxxer for something completly diffrent.. Sorry for the fucked up spelling. 😖
Listen to "battery "live Seattle versión..ist yo much heavy
Funny fact: THAT "QUIET INTRO" ACTUALLY BELONGS TO MR. Cliff Burton, CAUSE THERE ARE LIKE FEW BASS TRACKS, WHICH ARE "reversed"
isn't it just multiple bass guitars using reverb?
Metallica no leaf clover
Neutral milk hotel - in the Aeroplane over the sea
Can you react to Lost Society?
I'm sorry but I could never quite trust someone who hasn't heard songs like this before the age of 16.
😂😂
Were you a Metallica fan before this?
No, the only songs I actively listened to were 'Nothing Else Matters' and 'The Day That Never Comes' 👍
Check out “Trapped Under Ice” when u get a chance
heeyyy super underrated!
Please react to souls of black by testament
Yeah, just don't be playing this when you on your running machine. You'll hurt yourself.
