When we converted from Protestantism 6 years ago, our priest told us we were climbing aboard the bark of Peter in a storm. It has since intensified into a hurricane that I imagine is going to strengthen and worsen. But, even amidst all the scandal and chaos, I know this is where Christ is. He founded *one* church, and gave His promise to her. It’s my job to man my station and carry on, no matter how the wind howls.

I became discouraged with the “rock and roll concert” that worship service became. One day in 2013, I was driving to my evangelical church when I had an overwhelming desire to attend mass. I pulled over to look up Mass times and headed to the nearest Catholic Church. When I walked in I knew I was “home”. My husband, a non-Catholic, agreed to have our marriage convalidated in the church and I have been relearning our beautiful faith since then. I have learned so much from the two of you as well as many other current and past Catholics!
Do you suppose this priest went to confession and was forgiven for all the horrible things he's done?? I'm not agreeing with all he's done just my thought.

When I converted to the catholic, I joined the RCIA and still trying to learn the faith. There was so many cradle catholic that did not support the faith. I had a catholic friend who said I shouldn’t go to confession, just confessed straight to God, and some said I don’t need to pray the rosary just pray straight to God. And my husband who brought me to the church, his family in Italy and Spain are not active Catholic, his mom complain why do I go to church all the time and pray to much. The list goes on, and I felt like I am surrounded by Anti-Catholicism. Thank God I had a sister who is a nun, she was raised by my dad aunt who are Catholic. She told me not to listen to anyone else, if I need an answer just pray to God for guidance and talk to the priest. I love my faith, once you find Jesus, Mary and Joseph in the Catholic faith there is no turning back.
Every week I hear about new converts to the Catholic Church. These individuals are intelligent and enlightened and come to the Church for Sacraments. People in the Church may be sinful, but the Church remains the Bride of Christ. God bless you.
Thank you! The Parish I attend is like walking into a cafeteria. Everyone is talking, laughing, and joking. Very few genuflect before the tabernacle that is tucked off to the side. The parish priest usually gives a brief homily, but his signature, that the parishoners love, is a lame joke. The parishoners roar with laughter. I have gone to confession with this priest and instead of giving me penance, he tells me what a good person I am. After a quick absolution, he tells me to hang in there, go in peace. Whats worse is after weekday masses, we are hurried out because they want to lock the church so it can be cleaned. But one beautiful lady shouted out the St Michael prayer and maybe two or three of us joined in. As I walked out I thought to my self Im leaving this Parish. But I heard a small inner voice that said "I need you"! So I still attend, but I have to adore in the parking lot in my car.😢
If may be a longer journey because traditional Churches are few & far between, but if you can find a traditional Latin Mass community....Go more than once or twice. You need not understand a thing, there are usually some misselittes to guide you. It's beautifully peaceful usually with Gregorian Chant. You can pray deeply & the homilies are usually deep faith teachings. Christ is honored there. 🙏✝️🙏
Love my parish with traditional priest but the music is terrible. Wish they could just play the jazzed up stuff to the entrance and exit hymns and play the more reverent hymns for the Mass proper.
I love the Catholic Church to infinity and beyond. I thank God everyday I was born into a Catholic family. I love you guys. Thank you so much for all you do. 🙏🙏🙏
One simple statement…in response to many of their friends walking away, Jesus asked all 12 apostles…”will you be leaving too”. My role model model Peter responded…”where will we go, you have eternal life”..Trust in Jesus.

Why I am still Catholic? Simple: I am blessed with the fullness of Truth - privileged to receive Jesus in the Eucharist, baptism, confirmation, confession, I am truly blessed!
I could listen to the two of you for hours! The one church in my diocease that has Saturday mass (outside of Sunday obiligation) that holds First Saturday mass is not offering it for the time being starting tomorrow...Father is very old and he is having serious health issues. My bishop refuses to allow Saturday mass for Our Lady, this priest was a hold out and refused to comply. My next nearest mass is 2 hours away. Tomorrow, I hope Heaven will take a spiritual communion and next month I will begin driving.

Over the years I confronted individuals who were saying that they were going to leave the church because of the sexual abuse. The first question I asked them was this did Jesus abuse these children because leaving the church is like you blaming Jesus. I don’t attend church because of the priest or because the music is terrible or the homily is boring. I go to church to worship Jesus in the Eucharist.

We can all learn from the letters to the seven churches in the Book of the Apocalypse of St. John, that the message from our Lord Jesus was never to leave your churches and create new ones, it was a message of rebuke for some and admonishment for the faithful, hold fast, watch and pray-- this is our calling as Catholics.

If people are leaving the church it is because unfortunately their faith wasn’t 💯 percent there, we have been warned by our mother church so why are we all surprised?
