  • Hello everyone, i have a big problem in my laptop.
when i press power button it makes sound as in video and it doesnt show up the screen. so afterwards I have to hard shutdown it by pressing power button for 4-5 seconds.
and i have to do this many times (40-50 times) unless luckily it turns on and shows up the screen.
    mySOLUTION
its a problem with one of the chip on Motherboard,my repair guy told me that, chip was related to some graphic processing, which was short circuited.
it costed me around $55 to get it repaired.

I had the same problem, I brought my Dell Inspiron to the repair service and they found the root cause: there was a breach in the microchip on the motherboard (something related to BIOS). They replaced the microchip and now there is no clicking sound on startup. The reparation took 2 days and cost me 300 UAH (~10$). I hope this info helps.

I have this exact same issue. I swapped out the hard drive and the problem persists.
I also tried other things found. Removed the battery and press / hold power button for 60 seconds. Then use the power cord to try to turn on. The same sound persists and the laptop will not boot up.
Dell Inspirion17R just out of warranty period. Any other suggestions or fixes for this issue?

Just now same this sound; just plug out the ram’s and blow it then plug it back .. directly it turned on ( this in my case and maybe that was just a luck and maybe the problem still there but that was an instant solution ) thanks dude for this video 👍🏽

I am facing the same problem. Technician told the problem with windows 10, revert it to 8. But the problem remains same when I revert to 8. I think some hardware issue causing the sound. Again I have to meet him.

You must also update/reinstall the bios. My bios was A07 and I updated it to A08 and no more annoying tuck tuck sound now. I assume it was caused by the corrupted bios.

    I had the same problem.
But I think I know the cause of that.....
It is maybe the RAM or the HARD DRIVE and the HARD DISK....
THAT IS THE CAUSE OF THE PROBLEM..but unfortunately I don't know how to fix that cases. But I told u what I know.
