    Did this guy just say battery life 18 hrs? What the fuck are you smoking

    • @DanWarman
      @DanWarman  8 лет назад +1

      said ... "up to 18 hours" ... Dell themselves have quoted this laptop as offering 18 hours of mixed use off one charge. This laptop battery last the longest of all the ultrabooks I've tested in the last few months.

      It would have been easy to to add a bit more value to the review by giving a realistic practical number for battery life rather than just quoting Dell. You could also state boot up times. Follow the rule: When possible, be specific. Otherwise, a nice crisp review.

      Paragraph from Dell's website... "Longest battery life of any 13-inch product, with up to 18 hours, 14 minutes of battery life with FHD display." Based on the BrowsingBench benchmark test conducted by Dell labs in September 2015 with system brightness set to 150-nits (40%) and wireless enabled. Actual battery life may be significantly less than the test results and varies depending on product configuration and use, software, usage, operating conditions, power management settings and other factors. Maximum battery life will decrease with time.

      I personally don’t have the time or interest in testing the actual battery longevity for this laptop and I seriously doubt anyone else would either. With that in mind I find it difficult arguing with the battery statement made by Dell… I know for a fact that the battery longevity on this machine is very good for the purpose I use it for (Business Applications, MS Office, Intranet, etc.) and is better “in my opinion” than the other similar spec’ laptops and hybrids on the market at the moment.

    Do you have big hands or is the laptop really just relatively small?

    • @LGBender
      @LGBender 8 лет назад +2

      Due to Dell's Infinity Edge display it's basically about the size of a 11.6" netbook.

    Mine is bit more faster as it has got i7 7th gen and 16 gb Ram. Nonetheless, this is one brilliant machine made by Dell. Screen quality is superb. I attached it to my 65 inches 4K TV and the quality I'm getting through this laptop is amazing. All in all a beautifully and strongly built laptop.

    How often do you hear the fans on this 2016 model? Do they also sometimes spin up when just playing HD youtube videos. I have a similar 2015 who has these problems sometimes. Thanks.

    Dell xps 13 9360 with i5 7th gen or lenovo yoga 720 with i5 8th gen processor?

    • @DanWarman

      Dell XPS... I'm not a great fan of the Lenovo Yoga machines and their customer support isn't as good as Dell's IMO

    I have the i7 XPS on order, it's due for delivery this week. I can see you've got the UK version charger. Is the end that goes into the ultrabook lit like the other Dell chargers? It's not really clear from the video but the connector seems a bit smaller.

    Dell Xps 13 or Macbook Air 13' inch ??

    • @DanWarman
      @DanWarman  8 лет назад

      I would take the Dell XPS 13 so long as its the high spec i7 version. I haven't had many opportunities to use then new Mac's and cannot justify getting one just for R&D. Have you looked at the MS Surface Pro 4 as I'm really liking this kit at the moment?

    • @d1sruptic

      For gaming xps 13 cuase it has Intel i7 but if just like to douche around macbook

    • @molinakg
      @molinakg 8 лет назад

      Honestly the MacBook Pro is was overpriced. The i7 processor isn't much faster so I'd just keep the i5 for a cheaper price, at MacBook Pro performance

    hey what kind of texure is the pad like inside around the keyboards? is it kinda of like a carbon texture?

    • @DanWarman
      @DanWarman  8 лет назад +1

      E Alex Hi, it's rubberized with a carbon look to it. The touchpad is very smooth, probably the best I've used so far.

    • @emptyheros

      would you say it was a finger print magnet?

    • @DanWarman
      @DanWarman  8 лет назад

      The keyboard keys, touchpad and screen are most certainly fingerprint magnets, yes.

    is the qhd+ display worth it ?

    • @DanWarman
      @DanWarman  8 лет назад +1

      If you have good eyesight then in my opinion, yes... video playback quality is great at 2k and 4k resolutions as well as having all the extra screen space when running applications at native resolution is good. The only issue I have with this screen is that running applications at native resolutions makes everything very, very small on-screen and can be difficult to read and navigate.

      Yes, Windows does not support HiDPI display well :'(
      Hope it will be much better in the next generation OS

      Nope. I sold mine the same week I got it. The glass glare and the digitiser grainy effect made it horrendous to look at, esp. in comparison to a retina macbook pro.

    NEVER buy DELL computer if you don't want to waste your time and money. The CPU of DELL computer is possible to be locked to 800Mhz while it should be up to 3500Mhz. When you go to the DELL technical support, they would just waste you 2 months time to play email and then replace the old broken motherboard with another old broken motherboard and never fix the problem without bringing a new problem. that is my $3000+ lesson from DELL, i hope you can keep away from DELL and keep away from such tragedy.
