I have a 7 3/8's that I need closer to a 7 1/2. What size do I get? The medium or large?
Purchased one if these on Amazon over a year ago! Works great but, without the steam the hat will eventually go back to its original snug feeling! I hit up the New Era store in Miami years ago...they had the counter mounted hat stretcher with the steam and that hat never shrunk back! It's been fitting great ever since then! I don't know why the hat store don't invest in having one in every store but, whaddya do!!
Four-way stretcher please! With the hat club logo
I cut the liner band on the inside of the hat, which actually helps, but I know I'm not gonna resell those, so there's that. I find a lot of these New Era hats do NOT fit to size - either too big or sometimes a half size too small. The bigger ones you can deal with with reducers, but the smaller ones...
What up Benji
I have a 3/8 that needs to be 1/2, which size should I get, M or L?
I have 7 1/8(small) that I need 71/4 medium.. so do I buy a small and it stretches or do I buy a medium and hope that it just fits. Lmfao
I have the old school new era pump that you place the hat on to reshape and stretch.
This could help to make a cap deeper?😢
Do you notice your hat eventually gets small again or am I doing something wrong
Mine do the same! Is there a trick. I even steam it a little before I stretch it and it still shrinks back to the original size.
@@joshhibbs_nolaSteam it while it’s on the stretcher, not before. Then let it sit there for about 12 hours. By then it should completely dry and stay the stretched size.
You may find that it gets slightly tighter over time, but not nearly as bad as not steaming at all or steaming before you stretch. (80% of mine only needed to be stretched once since learning about the steam trick.)
Lastly, use a clothing steamer or a teapot or something that lets you get the steam super concentrated. Do it all around the band, both inside and outside of the hat.
@@IAmTimBaker Thank you! I will try it this way. 👍🏼
I use the knee for sure! Maybe I’ll give this hat stretcher a whirl.
I want to know how long it needs to sit there?
The longer the better. I recommend at least 2 days and using steam around the sweatband area.
@@eze9081how do you add steam ? And for how long
@@djbarela4I just boil water in a pot on the stove and it creates steam, then just hold the hat over the steam
Oh yes. The knee method. Ben there done that.
Can you pick up In store or it it online
Amazon
It slightly curves the brim too?
It's more effective with a steamer
