  • Maneuvering top-of-the-line IndyCars around tracks at speeds of up to 240 mph is not for the faint of heart. IndyCar drivers are elite athletes from all around the world who undergo intense physical and psychological training to become the best in the world. In May, Insider visited the famous Indianapolis Motor Speedway, home of the Indianapolis 500, to see firsthand the training these drivers undergo, from the gym to the track. We followed along with Andretti Autosport driver Alexander Rossi, who won the Indianapolis 500 in 2016, to see what it takes to be an IndyCar driver.

Seeing as it is water, you would gain more the next day as you would need to replenish and you would unconsciously over consume + food intake would increase. Really nice try to be humorous. Sorry, not being rude but it can be hard not to laugh at these guys when you've reached supersonic speeds personally.

Good examples are Russell in 2019, absolutely dominated teammate Kubica, the only fair person to compare him to, or Gasly in 2020 who demolished Kvyat and put his car in places nobody expected it to be. Also Alonso in his days in Ferrari always made his teammates look like junior drivers, and his teammates were Felipe Massa and Kimi Raikkonen.

I’ve fished my whole life and I can’t really see a freshwater fisherman needing to keep in top shape. But deep sea oh man, being in shape definitely matters. Just the constant rocking of the boat is a workout on your legs. Then trying to reel in a huge tuna that could easily yank you overboard is about as intense as it gets!

OK comment section, yes, and F1 car costs about $12,000,000 USD, yes a team runs you between 100,000,000 and 400,000,000 a season, yes they are faster, yes the drivers generally speaking are even more effected by extremes, lose more water, and experience more G's, hell, I will even say they are outright, far fitter athletes.
I am a huge F1 fan, and I do have to say, to me it is the most complete racing series, and deserves it's place as the pinnacle of car racing, because to me it is far more exciting, so I will even give you that.
But this is a American channel making content for their biggest audience, who will be the same people who predominantly buy the magazine: AMERICANS.
Sure, something like DTS, and things like Liberty Media buying FOM, have gone a long way to increase the profile of F1 in the US, without question. HOWEVER, F1 has ALWAYS found America the land of Missed Opportunity, for the most part.... and as such, as it has failed to make the impression in the US as it has in the rest of the world, likewise, Americans are not as familiar with F1 as they with their alternatives.
Making this video about F1 might be informative, and might impress a lot of viewers.... but there are, simply put, more viewers, within B.I.'s target audience who will watch this because it features IndyCar, than there are those who will if it was about F1.
So that is what it is about, and we of the F1 fandom maybe need just put out D's away, instead of waving them about every time there is a video on YT about IndyCar.

Its racing, they are 2 separate types of racing and it seems like f1 gets really uptight with the competitiveness of indycar and needs to get defensive and all they can come up with is we cost more

Depends. F1 cars have huge downforce, the tracks are tricky especially on street circuits. The rules are also very strict in F1, so trying to go fast while following the rules can be hard. You also have power management, engine wear and gearbox wear management, you have tyre and fuel management, some tracks has a blind corner. Indycar is hard as well, those banked corners create huge g force, and their main purpose is to go fast on ovals, though they do go to non-oval tracks. It really depends. Take Monaco for example, very tight corners, small track width, lots of hard corners etc, so sometimes F1 can be harder than Indy

F1 is just an expensive type of racing dominated by 2 teams where only 2 or 3 drivers wins, the rest of the drivers are wasting their time running around never winning what kind of racing is that. And if you get a chance of winning you get told to give it yo your team mate.

Indy car is a spec series that focusses on wheel to wheel racing rather than the technology side of things....

    • @EricBurns1

@@speeddemon2901 you can't flat out say F1 has harder tracks. F1 tracks seem to be very cookie cutter. Indycar races on different tracks/streets because they have some sort of character to them. Laguna Seca's corkscrew and Detroit's bumpy streets for example. Grosjean also says Road America feels like Spa to him.
