I've been using this shifter for around 9 months and freaking love it. The only issues I have are finding similar springs to the ones used in the build (Im in US) but i've got it figured out well enough. Shifter has never had issues.
Thank you very much Jonj57 for sharing your experience, that is fantastic, it seems that this design is quite durable to wear. And if you break something, do not hesitate to comment on it to find a solution. Thank you very much for trusting the project.
What did you use for the PVC pipe housing? I'm wondering in thin wall 4" drain pipe will work.
@@K2Carver Hello again Zach, I used a plumbing tube for the casing, 110mm in outside diameter and 3.50mm walls, in my country it is very easy to find but from what you tell me many in other countries it does not exist. Some thingiverse users have designed this tube to print it, I have even seen that textures can be applied to the design with some software and it looks really good, you can look at the "remix" section of OSSH in thingiverse and you will also see some other inventions of the community for this shifter. Greetings and a pleasure as always.
looks very well designed, Congrats!
Thank you very much krakakratos, I'm improving the design with mods, don´t miss them.
Today, my last pieces will be printed, and assembly maybe Wednesday afternoon, the already printed parts feel very nice, printed in PLA+, BEST design so far, very cool and fun to build
Hello! Thank you very much for trusting the project, I hope everything works well for you and you can enjoy it. I don't know how the PLA+ holds up but you can always change some parts, that's the good thing about DIY projects, very grateful, greetings!
Excellent project. I'm building. In a few days it will be ready. Congratulations.
Thank you very much HaruenBender, I hope you enjoy it, if you build it from scratch remember that there are improvement parts available, you have all the information in the links, greetings!
Probably the best 3D printed H-shifter i have seen. I was going to build my own but this one seems so good that I will build this one. Awesome work.
The moveable parts might suffer some tear but perhaps some bearings and what not maybe will improve this great design.
Thanks for sharing
Hello StaarFaJter, thank you very much for your positive assessment, I am very grateful. There is very little time left to launch the new mod, which will add bearings to the base and the block, for better durability and prepare the shifter for the next mod (harder longitudinal springs), the other parts will remain compatible.
Cheers!
An idea might be to drill 3 holes in aluminium or steel bar, then cut in half to make durable runners or what you call it.
But it might be overdoing it since you can 3D-print new ones. Just a thought.
@@staarfajter922 all contributions are valuable, whether for this or other projects!

top lad, proper music
thank you so much!😅
I ordered the parts printed on Treatstock. The guy who printed had some issues with 11_OSSH_CET3D.stl and 09_OSSH_CET3D.stl . He said "while most of the design is very well done, I'm assuming these had to be done in a certain manner because the supported surfaces were at less than forgiving angles. the 09 was particularly problematic as supported circles always print bad. I tried a couple orientations, and they came out worse." I'm assembling now and it looks like they came out good enough to use.
Hi David Henry, I'm glad you're making this design. Pieces 09 and 11 need supports, I use a grid or zigzag support, at 80 degrees of inclination, with a density of 40 or 50%. I hope you can assemble without problems, if you have any other questions write me. A greeting!
Fantastic
Hi, i pritnted it. Arduino UNO version. How can i connect switch with Arduino? Can you send photo of your connections? Which pin i should use?
Hi Sir RutzkY, the connections to the arduino are soldered to the back of the Arduino 13:10. You must bear in mind that each switch has a ground connection (GND on the Arduino) and another to one of the functions (numbers on the Arduino). Depending on the code you use you will use some numbers or others. I use the sample version of UnoJoy code, you can download here code.google.com/archive/p/unojoy/

Hi I was wondering how this shifter feels?
Hola.

@@cet3dprojects yeah I already downloaded boss. Should I use PETG filament? Can I use PLA filament?
@@indrawijaya6280 I designed this by doing all the tests with PETG, I don't know if the resistance with PLA will be enough, I think that it will resist, but I have not verified it.
Anyway, I recommend that you try the PETG for mechanical parts, it is a very good option and it is not difficult to print.
6:35 are you sure this spring is 35mm long? Not 25mm? It won't squeeze enough to tighten the nut all the way down
Hi hamulec94, I have reviewed the video and the part, is correct. The spring is 35mm long when not compressed, 9mm wide and 0.7mm thick. This particular spring reaches 8mm in total compression. Don't worry, the piece is valid. I hope I have helped you, thank you very much for watching!
@@cet3dprojects thanks for the response. Maybe I had wrong springs. I ended up cutting them anyway and it's working fine. I figured out later that the spring lenght doesn't matter that much as I could tighten the nut more loosely and cut the aluminium tube shorter. I assembled it and now I'm only waiting for the electronics and it'll be ready!
Hi mate, you did an awesome job! I was wondering, do i have to use 6mm aluminum tubes? Would it be okay if I directly use screws? thank you so much
Hi Dogkan, thank you very much.
The problem with using a screw directly is that the thread would damage the hole. You could use screws with more security if you use the base pieces "Upgrades #1", these parts use bearings that ensure correct operation if you use a 6mm metric screw, but the aluminum tube offers less clearance. I hope it has helped you, best regards.
@@cet3dprojects I appreciate your feedback. Do you have any idea rather than using the base pieces "Upgrades#1"? I ask you again because those small bearings are really expensive in my country. What can be the alternative to the aluminum tube, like can I print some piece that holds for it? Or can I use 4x12x4 bearings with 4mm screw, instead of 6x12x4 bearings with 6mm screw? I owe a few of these bearings. Thank you so much.
@@dogkansarac4889 At the moment I can't think of any other option. In my country these bearings are also very expensive, I have purchased many parts on aliexpress for the same reason, in this link you have all the necessary materials organized according to the mod you use: cet3d.top/open-sim-shifter-h-posts/lista-materiales-necesarios-oss-h/

Hello! I am reviewing messages and I have seen that I missed answering this a few months ago, I apologize.
Do you mean a part that only has a slot to go up and down?
I think there would be a problem to do that, because the travel would have to be shorter so that the lever does not engage, but then it would not get to press the switch. When I designed it I only thought of H mode, maybe I should have thought that before hehehee
@@cet3dprojects Yes
This one can be two in one
One is the H shifter
The other one sequence lever

Keep in mind that many of the materials can be found in DIY stores or also online, and depending on the part of the world you live, one or another option will be cheaper, greetings!
Hey there, i just ordered all the parts and started printing, now i just found out you dont have the code for it and only the library which makes it hard for me as i canonly really code the basics of C++ Arduino . Can you give out the code or do i ju
Hello @princecaymangaming9989, you have the link to the programming code in the description, it is a public code on Google. What I don't remember is how the Arduino was programmed, but there is a lot of information on the internet. Sorry for the delay, I've had a lot of work lately outside of RUclips. Thank you for trusting the project!
can you send me one :D
hehe I don't think it's profitable, I think the most important thing is the satisfaction of doing it yourself and being able to use it, thanks for watching!
