Nice Vid, i started with hats 10 years a go i still love it. I have over 10 hats now and never had negative comments from people. It seems that everbody like it bad lacks of confidence
Ha, started off with cheap straw cowboy hats and when winter hit switched to felt and leather cowboy hats and fedoras. Next step is to break out my extensive short-crowned felt and leather Steampunk top hats. Good times. Great vid.
I ordered about 4 to 5 hats (fedora's) until I found the right one of me, and then I found two in a row! :D Before that I sometimes wore New Era baseball caps.
Agree with you. Seems like the perfect time to get into hats. I love fedoras but i personally have an easier time pulling off the newsboy hat. Nice video.
Thank you for the inspiration! A panama hat is what I had in mind for my baby step hat, so I take this as confirmation! I do have a random question: Do you remember where you bought that t-shirt? I only ask because as a fellow slim person I have been having a difficult time pulling off a white t-shirt. If I go too large it looks sloppy, and if I go too tight it looks transparent.
Not a hat-related question, but where do you get the kind of henley shirts that you're wearing in the thumbnail? Impossible to find decent ones where I'm from.
Thank you for this video. Please tell me where you got the hat you start with and at 4:16? That one is so sharp! I like the advice about easing into wearing hats by wearing them to places you'd expect a hat to be seen. My hair is thin, so the sun burns my head easily, and I've started wearing hats more and more. Again, great vid!!
If you are in someone’s home or in a restaurant where coat and tie are required, take the hat off. Otherwise, it’s fine to keep it on indoors. Someone I know would always remind any man who came to their home and didn’t remember to remove their hat by saying, “Is that snow on your hat?” even if it was June.
Oh goodness you would look awesome in a Russian style hat. I just love guys in hats. You can't go wrong with a Fedora though. Good advice. These men out here need help. LOL
So I've just learned a term men use in fashion. You used it too, the 'Dad Hat'. Now I didn't know that that was a thing until like yesterday. So the Dad Hat is cool but Dad jeans are a no no? Like us ladies don't really have a 'Mom' anything that we refer to as stylish soooooo......
This reminds me of an old Steve Martin Joke. "How to be a millionaire and never pay taxes. First get a million dollars, next..." "How to pull of hats, first look like Parker York Smith, next..." LOL
I don't look good in those hats but a straw cowboy hats I look like I'm home on the range even though technically my ancestors are from Central Europe but I was actually born at St. Joseph's in Orange Ca. I look good in a peasant cap also and golf caps in midnight blue that say "Callaway".That's my go to. Those Fedora's they used to wear in big cities back East would work for me also but only with a heavy coat and a violin case. Peace. We used to have cowboys where I lived but they left in 1972. But their spirit remained so I was really into motorcycles with no helmets, no shirt and no underwear as a youth Times change. Peace. I intimidate people when I wear a cowboy hat. It's like wearing a MAGA cap at Walmart. I need to be more low profile cause you and I are skinny and tall enough already.I look good in this shit also. ruclips.net/video/NTymtAbaG08/видео.html Inspiration
Didn't even watch the video and I can answer the question. How to pull off hats? Grip from the top and lift.. You people really need an 8 minute video to tell you that?
I've always been a hat guy and I recently embraced the Western hat. Final frontier of being a hat guy!
Yes!! Well done Anson! I’ve yet to dip my toe but hopefully one day.
@@ParkerYorkSmith Try a Western hybrid fedora such as Stetson's Open Road to ease into the western-ish look. Nice job on your vid also!
Try a Derby
I thought i wasn't a hat person until I just tried and now I love hats.
awesome!! So glad to hear that

Yes for sure, good idea
What gives me confidence wearing a hat is simply because i know I look good in hats
That’s awesome, enjoy it
Agree with you. Seems like the perfect time to get into hats. I love fedoras but i personally have an easier time pulling off the newsboy hat. Nice video.
They’re both great options! Thanks a lot George

Thanks buddy! Me too they’re awesome
Thanks for the helpful video!
Glad it was helpful!
How many pairs of shoes do you have? Can't unsee it after seen.
Pulling off a hat seems really easy. Just reach up, grab it, and lift
Is there any sort of etiquette regarding when to take off a hat? Being indoors? Sitting down to eat?
In a nicer setting you’re supposed to, technically, but if it’s a casual situation I wouldn’t worry about it
The "Gentleman's Gazette" channel offers a "hat etiquette" video that provides a baseline.
As a young man cowboy hat now that am older am a fedora an flat hat man 😊

Great video, loved it, maybe try avoiding the swaying back and forward that happened at the end.
Yeah I’ve tried to be more aware of that, thanks
Where do you tend to get your hats from?
Yellow 108, 7 Hill, Goorin, Bailey Hats
Oh goodness you would look awesome in a Russian style hat. I just love guys in hats. You can't go wrong with a Fedora though. Good advice. These men out here need help. LOL

Not sure, I’d just google it
Hi Parker Do you recommend a female version of you? I’m female and 67. Looking for similar help. Thank you.
I just subscribed, Thank you for your guidance on how to wear hats
Let me dust off my hat and wear it for my plants 🌱.
Haha great idea! I’m sure they’ll appreciate it

Hehe. Re-cap. 🤭
I wish I was a hat person, trust me I've tried but my head shape doesn't allow me to look good in them 😂
Haha don’t give up! Just gotta find the right hat for you
Mate, everyone is a hat person. You just have to find the right hat... Take a look at the Facebook page, Men Who Wear Hats.
hey u look like that guy from that Frozen movie. lol
Olaf?! That’s messed up ⛄️ haha
@@ParkerYorkSmith Kristoff actually lol I can't be the only one who have said that.
So far you are
Been wearing a hat for 70 years. I have one rule.vputvit on my head and go about my business.
I got a video idea
You lucky some of us are just not hat people
You can be, just gotta find the right hat

Why did men and women stop wearing hats everyday in the 1950s? I love seeing people wearing them in old movies...
Cuz there is no need for it especially in cloudy cold weather😅, i think it gives some detective vibe and will make u look out of place and time
Didn't even watch the video and I can answer the question.
How to pull off hats?
Grip from the top and lift..
You people really need an 8 minute video to tell you that?
Wolfy got jokes
Bless you if your hair is the thing that bothers you...skipping this crap after 20 secs into video
I had to dislike, it was at 9 dis's had to get that 10th rep in. Sorry
That’s rude
@@ParkerYorkSmith I agree 👍
Step 1: NEVER refer to yourself as a “hat person.”
Ok
