Border crossings with a motorcycle in Africa is always a bit hectic! You either love it or hate it!

- Day 710! I was crossing from Katima Mulilo in Namibia to Sesheke in Zambia. Crossing borders is always connected with a certain level of excitement - and a bit of fear! You never know what you are gonna get in terms of offices, fixers, money, paperwork, procedures - and you never know if you will get 30 days or just a week.
But as much as I am always a bit nervous, I also have this weird love for border crossings. There's always something funny going on! This time money fixers got pulled out by the police! I usually expect the process to take a full day - because that way, I will not get frustrated when it takes several hours.
On this day, I was looking for a spark plug in the morning. And when that developed into making new friends, time went by, and I got to the border a bit too late.

This lady is really loving, strong, brave, adventurous, caring, keen, intelligent and focused.I love 💕 her and the character she is made of.Welcome also in Kenya.
Thank you very much. Will be in Kenya very soon. 😊🏍🔥
I am in awe of your courage, patience and true adventure spirit. There are very few people in the world, who would attempt that border crossing alone. Your videos are an inspiration, thank you. You are never truly alone on your travels, while you have fans with you on this channel.
Thanks a lot Dave!!! 🥰🏍🔥
Enjoying how your videos are coming together. The interactions you have with the locals, the scenery and the situations are👍🏼👍🏼 ❤📷🏍💕
Thanks a lot!!! 😊🏍🔥
She is ever positive and good character interactions etc very hard working woman.keep it up
Thank you Jeremy
Hello, I just came across your site and enjoyed your video. I will check out more of them as well. Your attitude was exceptional the way you interacted with those you meet. You were always quick with a ' hello ' or ' how are you ' and that can go a long way when often travellers can be rude or downright disrespectful to those they meet. Also like the way you handled the money changers, you were polite but you let them know you knew what you were doing. You should and hopefully will have many more views in the future. You deserve them. Great job!
Thanks a lot for your nice comment. Yes, I also met the rude travelers 😑
❤Great absolutely fantastic travels
i love the content and the interaction with the locals
RUclips suggested your channel to me and I have been stuck with your channel. I love your personality. Africa is very hectic to travel around, it requires one to be patient and one to also expect disappointments. You got a subscriber from Nigeria 🇳🇬
Thanks a lot. Would love to visit your country one day 😊🏍🔥
@@ForTheLoveOfWheels That will be great. It's difficult to travel and film videos please keep uploading videos because I like your style of vlogging.
Growing up in Livingstone Zambia I can't count how many times I watched the sun set on the Zambezi River never got bored of it, ever better with a cold beer. Thanks for posting 😊
Oh how cool! That river is just magical!
She's such a warm and positive soul. I am from ZAMBIA, surprised to hear how the accent of my people sounds like those from African movies made by Hollywood 🙈
That is actually true.
Hello Henriette! I pleasantly observe (really healthy envy) your "driving" as a complete citizen of the world, conversing as a "local" with the money changers, lowering the "tourist" value to a more accessible one, achieving the best for your adventure and finally, getting a everyone's smile Bravo! My greetings from Chile.
Thanks a lot. I really appreciate that comment 😊🏍🔥
Was my first time watching her and I instantly loved her, such an amazing human being with a warm personality.
What a sweet comment. Thank you 😊🏍🔥
I CONCUR. SHE''S A NATURAL. A HUMAN BEING.
Excellent! You make it look so simple! Congratulations!
Thank you :)
This is beautiful. Enjoyed watching your video. Made me miss home. 👍
Oh how nice. Where do you live now?
I love your videos there always encouraging me to do more these adventures
Thanks a lot! 😊🏍🔥
Love your videos, i have been following " Itchy Boots " for a few years now, how did i miss you, yours is just as good. I have a lot of catching up to do, safe riding.
Thanks a lot and welcome here 😊🏍🔥
Loved the video, its content, the length and you explain things clearly. The countries have their beauties about them and some shifty characters too. Good for you for not allowing their pressure to get to your pocket book.
Thanks a lot!!! 😊🏍🔥
I could not "keep smiling" as you, with all these papers, 1h1/2 waiting for that man, the changers, etc ... You become a true African. 👍
😄😄😄 Slowly but steady!
This is great , please zambia is your home , come back again
I would really love to!
U always welcome to Zambia our beautiful nation we glad u enjoyed.. i now want to join u on ur ride🤣🤣🤣

wow you put my memories fresh with your tour, how I wish I KNEW HOW TO RIDE A BIKE , so as to accompany you on the next trip in our country, you remind me when I was working with a local construction company, that built a police post in Mwandi, a prison in Sesheke, another police in Limulunga(western part of Zambia) also Chavuma in the North western. your tour reminds me a lot, I would love to meet you if at all you have another trip to our land AFRICA, SAME PEOPLE DIFFRENT COLUORS
Oh, makes me really glad to read this! I really loved both Namibia and Zambia and would love to go back!

Thanks a lot!
Hi dear, I enjoyed your video from Namibia to Zambia. Love it 🤣 🤣 🤣
Thank you 😊🏍🔥
Much love, Katima Mulilo, Namibia is my home town. I would like to give a little bit of advice. When you cross from Namibia to Zambia please do not exchange currencies on the streets because those you exchange with always take people's money. They always look out for those who ain't familiar with the exchange rates and takes advantage of a situation, and in case you do always allow not more than one person to come for the exchange.
Thanks a log for your advice
Thanks for the advice
Am very happy to see you in my home country Zambia, interesting is your drive on the kazungula - Livingston Road I drove on that road during my project visits in Kazungula, am actually in Denmark now

You are a brave lady. I am from Zimbabwe ,I once used that Sheshede route with a sedan from Livingstone to Katima Mulilo. It was a nightmare. The road is very bad.

The "marriage proposals" part got me laughing.... By the way, it's Kwacha and not Kwanza
May God protect you
You are a strong woman and be protected all the time sweety heart
The Zambian authorities give priority to foreign European travellers... However from my experience if you're of African origin... there are consequential experiences.
Hi dear! Next time visit Kenya and enjoy the beauty of East Africa biggest economy. You will Love it💝🌷

Hi Henriette, I was reading on your website about the large list of additions to the 250 L and my reaction is that it sounds like it would take a long time to gather up all of the parts. Did your dealer help bring together all of those items? Thank you for another entertaining video.
Hi Grant. I bought all the parts myself from all over the world. I was very specific with what I wanted. Some things from the US, some from Australia, some from Turkey etc. It took 4 months 😊
How do you cope with local food.
I’m in the continent since 1999 and still NO GO for me 😊

Hi Henrietta. The Zambian money changers do have a lot of tricks to shortchanged tourists. I do not know now, but the last time we visit Livingstone, the Kwacha 2 and the Kwacha 20 note were both blue of color. They then rolled the Kwacha 20 notes up in a round bundle of notes and then with a swift hand exchanged the bundle of Kwasha 20 notes with an other bundle with only the outside note a Kwacha 20 note and the inside notes all Kwacha 2 notes. Be careful, these guys are unbelievable swift with their hands and will only later, when you want to use the notes , will discover that you were conned
Yes, some are really skilled. That's why it's smart to count every single note.
thats true and its really sad i know my country Zambia , you really need to be careful ,good tip, though not everyone is a conn
@@jacobmbewe6632 No most people I met were absolutely lovely. And the money changers are just trying to make a living.
Very nice is that a 650xr?
Its a Honda CRF250L
Any chance of coming to Harare, Zimbabwe
Oh I would love to, but heading North this time
The money changers at all borders have one arch nemesis they tried to defeat, yet never managed to as she has The Force on her side: Henriette!!1! 😅
…same goes for hippos and poultryless restaurant owners…
