the fact you got in to a CLA45s plus for 1k down and £760 a month is absolutely outstanding value, ive been looking and with 12k down its still £789 a month on a PCP
I was very lucky and got in just before the huge inflation and interest rate hikes. It’s so sad how much more expensive it is now to buy a car in the current market. The golden days are over :(
@@ABAUTOAMG its a nightmare, they have increased the cost of the car to :-( its 68k for a new one now, ive been looking at 2021/2022 models but even then the PCP works out similar to a new because you get better interest rates on new, might have to consider a A35 at this point but then im worried about them as the 19/20 plates have a issue with the cylinder heads/Valves looking at the forums. Still lovely car you have, Subbed 🙂
Sorry to hear :( add to the cost that everything is expensive it’s not a nice time to be a petrolhead :( Have you considered a older w205 C63? They are good value at the moment and the V8s won’t be around forever to enjoy! An amazing car to own.
@@ABAUTOAMG i've thought about it, but ill be paying the PCP with my company car allowance, so it has to be within 5years old max, but you cant beat the sound of that V8, I'll prob hold out, save a bit more and then jump 😅
Ah I see. I’d love to get one of the last V8s myself for the channel maybe next year. I’d planned to do it but my 5 year mortgage ran out and the extra money on the new rates is more than the cost of the C63! Fun times! :( Shall see how things go next year.
been watching you since you got this car coz i really fell in love with the CLA 45. its been so cool to see you become so refined at making videos and editing, i remember when you just got ur drone lol cant believe its been a year since following this exact car through ur ownership experience. keep going i love it ☺
Sorry I loved this comment but never replied! Thank you so much for sticking around and following the channel. I love making these vids and have some really exciting surprises on the way.
Great video - thanks for being open and honest about all the costs...oh and i love your video editing skills - hope i get to that level one day with mine!!!
Really good break down mate, I worked out with everything included my A45 (67 plate) was costing me almost 1k a month all in and I work from home! These cars aren’t cheap, but it’s the price you pay for a decent car 🙏
On my 2020 C43 AMG: Finance - PCP £598 monthly Insurance - £500 a year Average Mpg - 24.4mpg Premium Petrol - £60 every two weeks Tax - £570 a year Quickest 0-60 I got was 4.0s (stock) Average 0-60 numbers i get is 4.3s (stock)…The 4.7 seconds mercedes claims on paper is a myth, the car is much quicker, just have good tyres on. I recently got new continental contact sport 7 tyres ( currently best in the market) - front £169 each, rear £204 each. Service is going to be £574 at 26k miles. I will almost certainly be getting the CLA45s Amg 🔥 next
@@ABAUTOAMG Great channel, I learnt a lot from it before picking up my C43 couple of years back, but one thing I certainly missed out (and I kick myself everyday in the foot about it) is the sport exhaust option😞 it makes such a difference to the car.
i think its a shame, here in germany where the car is coming from, we pay a lot more for the cars and at the same time on average we earn less money monthly than people in the UK :D...
I don't know what 22 miles per gallon is, so I converted it and it's 12.84 liters per 100Km. That's a lot higher than the 8.8 liters claimed by Mercedes. In fact, you're in average E63S V8 territory with that fuel consumption. Unless I converted wrong, please tell me how you’d describe your driving. Is it aggressive all the time? Or do you drive normally as well? And what’s your Comfort / Sport mode ratio? Thanks.
Ended up paying off the car almost right away. that saved $20,000 in interest because my finance rate was 5%. I also just got ceramic coating and regret not getting ppf as I have similar stone chips that you have after owning for about 11 months now. ceramic coated selenite grey matte paint does appear very clean when viewed from a short distance even after getting rained and snowed on multiple times so it makes me feel a little bit better. I try to pretend those chips dont exist :( I'm getting 16.5 mpg due to driving like a maniac in sport+ all the time.. but just cant stop listening to the burbles, cracks, and pops from an amg
Thanks Tony! Whoops I actually have gap insurance and forgot to include it. It’s through a third party so was much cheaper than the dealer. I think around £300 return to invoice.
Thanks! I just love the shape of the coupe and didn’t need the extra space. Funnily enough though it was the shooting brake I drove first and made me order the coupe. Here’s my first video with the shooting brake ruclips.net/video/oOMrTwV6H7c/видео.htmlsi=EVHpzy94plvt49Td
Hey, thank you :) Unfortunately I don’t think the road tax is included in the list price of a used car but worth checking to confirm with them. Back many years ago road tax was bound to the car but now it’s bound to the person. If you are selling your car though the dvla will send you a refund for the months you’ve paid that are left on your old car so you will receive a nice little check in the post.
There is a cost you’ve not factored in and that’s your depreciation which if you add onto your annual repayments will give you a more realist cost. You’ll at a guess have lost £9k over the first year.
Actually you may be surprised. I did not include this because it's hard to know if this will change over the next few years but the CLA45s is a car that has surprisingly held it's value incredibly well due to rarity and it being released during the prime production delays. Last year these were selling more used 1 year old than brand new. Looking at the current market my car is still worth more than what I paid for it if you take into account my discount list price. So if I sold my car now I’d gain over 1k rather than loose 9k. Normally your right i’d loose about 9k but times have changed! At least for now
In the UK they call it road tax. Depending on what car you drive you pay a yearly tax fee. Some cars pay as low as £40 a year. For the CLA45s it’s £570 a year.
Hi Adam, I was wondering what things cost you as mine is about 2 weeks older than yours so its good to compare. Im averaging 28mpg from start and have hit high 30's regular. I was lucky enough to get a discount on the car and got the 3 years of service plan thrown in, and if you are old like me insurance is a lot cheaper at £275 for me and the wife.... I mailed the guy at PCW for booking in the exhaust mod, but never heard back so that is outstanding. but other than that i added a ceramic coat (3year protection) through JR Valeting local to me ( really good) and PPF front end and tailgate for protection +plus a couple of Garmin mini2 cams.... still thinking about what to do in the long term keeping car for ever or moving it on etc. Good video as always
The Matt finish does look good, but it looks expensive for the cleaning materials, compared to bog standard car shampoo. For me the jury is still out on the Matt finish. So…is it worth it above ( including ceramic treatment ) a solid or metallic paint.? There’s something satisfying about applying polish. Also, Gap insurance is a lot cheaper than the Ghost. Do you really want the car back when some toerag has had it. ?

Hey, it really depends on your age, how many years no claims and where you live. I’m 35 years old and have a full 15 years no claims and live in a nice area outside of the city. So my premium is much lower.
I average 30mpg in mine driving normally, get 41mpg and over on long motorway drives. Lowest I’ve had is 24mpg when in sports plus mode giving it some. Best I’ve had was 50mpg when sat at 50-60mph in traffic for 40miles lol

Wouldn't the cost for installing the Dashcam add into these costs? Or is it not considered an essential maintenance mod? ;)
