    I agree with your comments on the matt grey paintwork. I have a Abarth 595 with matt grey colour, and it looks so good when its washed. Also, it's the lacquer on top of the paint that gives it the matt finish.

    Same paint job as yourself and Mercedes scratched it during the reveal (dirty cover!!). Mercedes repaired the scratch and did an excellent job with the blend so agree with your comments that it is repairable. Booked in a ceramic coating!!

      Hey! Ah I remember you mentioned what happened in another comment. I’m so glad to hear you got it sorted and also great to hear they did a good repair. Do you know who carried out the repair? Did they do it on site? Some dealerships will use external companies for more tricky jobs. It would be good to post here so we have somewhere we can trust to do a good job of the unfortunate happens.

      @@ABAUTOAMG hi. It was done at the dealership. Guy had a bit of a nightmare but did a great job. I do worry about the paint and more cautious where I park. But it is a stunning colour and certainly turns heads. Not sure I would opt for it again as causes too much worry

      @@ABAUTOAMGI had some work done on my A45s. I decided to put a personal licence plate on, at the rear, mercedes have the four plate screws in the middle of the plate, I had a 4d license plate installed so those plastic fixing plates had to go so that the plate would sit flush against the body work. There were 4 big holes left by removing those plastic brackets so I had to get them professionally filled and the license plate area and boot door painted I used topaz detailing, they have a body shop that they use and they did a perfect job it cost 1500 pounds then I had to pay topaz more money to put the ppf back on and ceramic coat the area another 500 pounds so it turned in to a very expensive licence plate change. One good thing came out of it, I now know that the bodyshop which is close to topaz in West London can do matte paint and I am telling you that it was done so well that you would never know it had been painted.

    Great video! I just placed my order for the 2025 AMG GT63 in blue magno! You can’t deny how amazing matte looks on the car but I will admit I have been very nervous. But your video has helped understand this paint better. I still plan to buy matte film protection for it so that’ll help.

      @@ABAUTOAMG Good to see a new video. I did a big spring clean on my brand new A45s mountain grey magno car, I also fully clayed it and decontaminated it, which I highly recommend after winter. I know what you're going to say, how did I clay the car and not damage the matte finish? I used a special clay towel and iron remover as well as a special matte decontamination product, the car was super clean afterwards and of course not one single scratch. The car definitely needed a clay, it was rough on the lower panels and I noticed some marks had formed on the car, these were obviously tar or stubborn road grime that wasn't coming off with the wash. I use carpro reset which is probably the best soap for cleaning ceramic coated cars, my car is also fully covered in ppf but I still clayed it. I keep up to date on products and techniques even the guys at topaz were surprised with the clay towel which can be used on matte finish cars without scratching it and it removed stubborn stains and road grime very easily. Dr beasley's are definitely the best products on the market for matte paint. The ceramic sealant sprays are simply the best, I use two sprays one which lasts for 3 months and another topper it massively enhances existing ceramic coatings on the car giving it super hydrophobic properties very little dirt sticks to the car at all. Dr beasley's products are expensive but they have a complete line of everything for matte finish cars from decontamination to car soap, wheel cleaner, ceramic detail sprays. The special clay towel is from diy detail it was out of stock for ages but now they have stock again it costs 37 pounds though but it is definitely worth it as you can safely decontaminate and remove any tough stains safely. I had some glue or something on one of my lights, not sure where that came from but it was easily removed without a single scratch.

    When you’re talking about that you haven’t washed the car in a while. What do you mean by that? Days/weeks/months? Thanks in advance! How often should you wash it?

    • @ABAUTOAMG
      @ABAUTOAMG  2 месяца назад

      In this case it was about a month. How often to wash it depends on how often you drive it and the weather. Best to maintenance wash it once a month at the very least or more if it’s very dirty. If you wash it regularly it will be much easier as there will be less dirt.

    Hey, I just test drove the cla wanting to buy it and I was a bit surprised. I want it as a daily driver and I felt the car to be a bit harsh in the suspension & transmission. Wanted your opinion on ur experience plus fuel economy. Do you recommend going for a c43 instead?

    • @ABAUTOAMG
      @ABAUTOAMG  8 месяцев назад

      Hey, the 45s is definitely more on the wild side when it comes to the suspension and also the gear box, it has a dual clutch so it’s a bit harsher at low speeds. The C43 would be a more comfortable cruiser but the 45s more sporty. It depends on which is most important to you. You might want to consider the E53 also, they are a great mix of comfort and sportiness.

      Hey! I’ve found a damp cloth works well on the Alcantara, nothing fancy :) for the trim I always keep a soft cloth in the front armrest compartment, give it a quick go over if I’m at a long light or waiting for someone parked.

    Hi, thanks for a review, probably the only one normal review in English. I am buying same color W213 E300e facelift for my self.. I Don't know, its amazing how it looks and cleans, but repaint whole panel with the blending for every scratch = nonsense. I will go white wrap immediately then. Knowing how people cares about others stuff and knowing how they open their door when parked close its just a matter of days. Plus I will use mine in city daily and most of the parking outside, so it will not survive a month! I love and I care about my cars, but I want to USE it as well.. Given you have one scratch here another there, look and you are almost next to paint whole car..
    Well we should at least try to make the information available a bit more technical solutions, like is there a way to touch up the color, maybe MB offers some special kits. Would be nice to compare the paint structure, like is the dye only that makes it special and matte, or (of course) the clearcoat isn't as flat as regular one, or maybe it is made from a different material, which shapes its self not into perfectly flat surface once it dries out after the spray. There is not too much info or next to none about matt cars scratch repairs, but yeah it can be the only issue I am wondering about my new MB. So I will definitely be doing research AND repair tests on my own car for the good of matte cars community..
    p.s. When you blend the color into other panels surrounding the repainted part, you do it by over spraying the dust type of dye spray and then you spray the clear coat. Once it dries you MUST sandpaper it and polish it, that's the whole idea of blending! Since on matt surfaces polishing is not possible I don't know then how they deal with the clear coat. If its just a matter or thin layer of overspray, then I am almost sure it is totally not necessary to paint whole panel, and local fix should be possible with touch up dye and matt can of clearcoat and couple of light circle like sprays from a distance.. since it is matt it should blend in automatically. Anyways I will test this out my self :)

    • @ABAUTOAMG
      @ABAUTOAMG  8 месяцев назад +1

      There should be a small amount of shine since It's more of a satin finish. It's also got some nice flakes in the paint if you get up close in the sun. It's one of the things I think that makes this paint more special than a matte/satin wrap.

    Hi Adam im going to get the new CLE 53 AMG and I’m having the hardest time choosing the colour as they are limited which is a gripe I have with Mercedes so it’s either metallic black or grey magno, question is did you ever find out the cost for paint protection and do you think it’s worth it if you are only keeping the car for its warranty period?
    Another off topic question I know you had your exhaust modded but do you know if without a mod you can get the fake exhaust made to look real or real if you know what I mean, I just don’t like fakes.

    • @ABAUTOAMG
      @ABAUTOAMG  7 месяцев назад

      Hey! Nice choice love the CLE53. It’s always tricky with colours. I once owned a black car and it looked amazing when washed but was a nightmare to maintain, showed dust and dirt so fast. Think the piano black interior but on the entire outside of the car. Grey Magno would be my choice personally since it looks so good even when dirty, far easier to clean too. Like I mentioned though can cause a bit of worry parking in public car parks etc. stone chips will happen but you won’t see them unless you inspect up close. PPF I think you’d be looking at £5-6k for a good job which is only worth it if you’re planning on keeping the car for a long time. I typically tend to change every 2 years. CLA45s is longest new car I’ve owned but that’s because it’s been great but I am going to be changing soon to something very exciting (hopfully!)

    • @ABAUTOAMG
      @ABAUTOAMG  7 месяцев назад +1

      Sorry forgot the exhaust question. I really would not worry myself. If they are like the cla45s I never look at them and think they are fake. If anything they visually look better because they don’t go all dirty like real exhaust tips

    • @Happytruth
      @Happytruth 7 месяцев назад

      @@ABAUTOAMG Thanks for reply and I agree about black cars look great polished and clean but awful dirty, and I do have those reservations about magno I know how clumsy some people are and also jealousy issues and with paint like magno it would play on my mind but that said magno at present will be my choice.
      I will be following your cleaning tips very closely haha.
