My Mom had black skin. I wish she were alive today to see how very dark skin is celebrated. She thought she was ugly. She was slender, 6 ft tall and looked like a model. She was born in 1933, so times were different.
She sounds absolutely stunning and I'm sure she was. She's celebrating her beauty in heaven because mortal earth wasn't able to comprehend with it.
I feel she left this earth with the knowingness that her beauty was so beyond it couldn’t be understood by everyone yet. And Ik she is happy to see you and many many others in awe of all colors

@@dimebag6996 how is it low? the chain is an accessory and she just happened to be the one wearing it, regardless of her skin pigmentation. they could've left it at that and that's not wrong. but he went out of his way to ask her if she was comfortable with it because he's mindful enough to put himself in others' shoes and think about how they may feel, even when they're just his models.

I loved that she said Tom Ford personally asked her how she felt about chains with her dress because he didn’t want to just represent black women in chains. We need more designers like this who choose to be aware of micro aggressions and racially prejudiced symbols that have plagued the black community. The fact that he was mindful of this and made sure her voice on this outfit mattered is Everything!

@@PanAfricanist if I were in her position..... and wearing chains of any kind were against my moral compass I would decline to wear them, no matter the cost. Do not presume to know how "gullible" I am. It is not your place. Nor it is your place to assume that Mr. Ford was attempting to "cover" himself simply by expressing an understanding of slavery. Had she been forced to wear chains against her will, or no thought had been given thereto, possibly there would be validity to your statements. Unfortunately, there are no facts within them. But the FACT still remains that Mr. Ford thought enough to ask. And that is enough. Good evening!

@@PanAfricanist Firstly, he DIDN'T ask her to wear them. Secondly, I didn't express any feeling one way or the other regarding HER CHOICE to wear them.
