I can understand you comparing it with the Moterm and not feeling like it's any better. However, I can see on screen that the Moterm leather is stiffer and shinier and I prefer the suppleness of the VDS. I only order Janet leather, and always put Velvet Sand on the inside. I've ordered customized codex covers where I had her widen them or double stitch the area where the cover slides into the pocket and they always come out perfect. No complaints. You do pay more for bespoke. If you just want the basics, Moterm is a great option (albeit the colors/patterns are really limited).
Your VDS is gorgeous but I totally get why one is enough. Just FYI, the VDS Standard size actually fits FC Compact inserts without being widened - I have their Touch Me binder in Standard with 30mm rings (not customizable). The FC tabs go to the edge but don’t overhang. Of course, some ppl prefer even a bit more width than that, but they do fit. One thing that would bother me about the Moterm (which I agree is also gorgeous) would be the mismatched hardware. I’m a “gold rings” girl, and I hate when the zipper and snap closure hardware don’t match. I have a couple rare, special edition Gillio Compagnas that have all gold hardware, but I can’t buy a planner with just gold rings and leave the hardware silver…
Oooo those special edition Gillios sound beautiful! I get why having mismatched hardware bothers some people. In theory, I want everything to match, but it doesn't bother me at all. Interesting to hear that about the Touch Me binders, I wasn't aware of that, thanks!
Your VDS is stunning i love the colours you choose. I won't ever order as the conversion and postage to Australian dollars puts me off. so, I admire other people's VDS planners. :)
What I don’t like about VDS is that if I ever want to order a custom ostrich, I have to have friends who also want to order one otherwise I’ll never get to purchase. That’s just a huge let down.
Just dont order custom goods, it increases price a lot. Buy a regular one , its half the price and is ok. VDS has great qualitz totallz worth it, have their pen case and it holds up great.

Your VDS is stunning, I have had both planners however, I do have to disagree with you. Moterm to me is very plastic feeling and at a fraction of the price that’s why really, the leather if actual leather smells funny. To me VDS planners are the premium planners just like Gillio, you get good grade leathers and well just perfection. Moterm have copied Gillio Firenze designs with all of there planners. I have not tried the new Veg Tan leather that Moterm do and I don’t think I will I prefer LV, VDS and Gillio’s. This is why I love this community so many different choices for everyone and we all like different things but yet are United in Planning ❤

@clairediss Gillio planners are not original, they started buying them from a wholesaler. Steve Morton has that factory's details.
