I love shichimi too. I made Chinese salt and pepper chicken wings. It's a dry preparation where deep fried ingredients are tossed in a mix of salt, msg and sichuan pepper corns. I switched the sichuan peppers with shichimi. Worked out great.
I went to this really fancy japanese restaurant, I was served a small bowl of rice with a little dot of yuzu kosho on top of it. The japanese rice and the powerful flavour of yuzu kosho had me searching for what it was for 2 years. Now I know the thing that blew my mind was yuzu kosho! I need to find the best japanese rice and eat it again!
Honestly, all of that looked fascinating except for the spicy stuff. I'm a wimp, I admit it. Kewpie+MSG and Shichimi Negi Salt are on my list next time I go to Mitsuwa.
Hahaha half of this video is spicy stuff (sorry!). Shichimi Negi Salt I've only found in Japan unfortunately but you should be able to get Japanese Kewpie at Mitsuwa - just check to see where it's made ;)

I had some fried chicken that had shishimi Togarashi on it and now I’m obsessed.
I definitely want to try taberu rayu but one of my favorite condiments is that seaweed paste in a jar!!
