My school memories were tainted a bit as the school owned a plum orchard. So during summer we had plum crumble, plums with custard, plum pudding, plums in a pie and so on for dessert. Cook's creativity knew no bounds when it came to plums. We hated them - probably because the plums always had stones in them! I believe I have avoided plums ever since :)
ja da , I have to say that’s a very conscientious and considerate reply , And I appreciate it :-) . Since the context was a light tease, and that’s all cleared up, I will send you back A huge teethy grin to carry on , and I hope there are much more smiles to come . Have a great day
@ja da I have watched " Begin Japanology" , but not the " Plus series " . Thank you, I will be sure to check it out . My best friend has gone back and forth to a Tokyo Culinary school from the US , and we both have a great interest in learning Asian cuisine . He's a successful chef in the Pacific northwest area of the US , and I am just an enthusiast . This particular video caught my interest because the US public lunches that I had as a child are just obscene compared to Japanese school lunches and this episode confirmed it . I hope this lunch standard will one day be standard all over the world . Maybe not the style of food, but at least the same quality of care put into it .
I love your videos, they are so helpful and I enjoy your point of views. I am applying to be an ALT in Japan and would love for you to keep making these videos, I feel like I learn a lot from them.
You very flexible with all those rules -- spoken and unspoken. I suppose it would be rather difficult to be a nonconformist in Japan. What if a student or teacher is vegetarian or vegan? Would the school accommodate that?
Hi! It's a really cool video. But I have a little question :) What about kids with lactose intolerance? Do they have an option to get lactose free milk?
Hi I want to go study in Japan but I don’t know any Japanese like idk how to talk Japanese do they teach me there or u just try and guess what they say?
It depends where you are and what you're doing there. Are you going to take classes in English in a big city? If so, you might be able to get away with only speaking English. But it helps to at least try and learn Japanese 🙂
@@logiebear Oh I see. I think you said in one of your videos that you're back in the USA now, do you miss your life in Japan or is this all still so fresh in your mind that you haven't had a chance to do that yet? I'm graduating this semester and am considering Japan, China, or Korea as possible places to teach English. Rural Japan looks lively I must say.
Japanese school lunch is the reason why kid's height is getting low and low over the year, per Japanese National Research. it might look ok, but actual portion is very small, very small for the rapid growing children. and very low in protein and calcium was the major problem. obiously it looks healthier than western food, and looks expensive because it is knida expensive to eat like that in Western countries. but in Japan, it is very cheap to eat like that. everything they put on youtube make me feel disgusted because my kids in school don't eat like that. Do you know why? because Japanese Government do not allow any news article or youtube that saying anything bad about the Japan or about their politicians.
I like how the kids help out at lunch. Gives them a sense of accomplishment and being part of a community.
Yes! Japanese kids help with a lot of things at school, like cleaning too.
That's some of the best school lunches I've ever seen

Your smile must be contagious to everyone there , because it makes me smile multiple times while watching this .

login211 Yeah I definitely miss Japan but it’s also nice to have some of the luxuries of home like food and family
Hi
bibimbap 이 재료가 너무 적네요.. 저건 비빔밥 재료가 아닌것 같네요. 한국 비빔밥은 채소도 많고 egg도 있고 korean sauce(gochujang) 있어야 완전한 비빔밥입니다
Itadakimasu :)
No girlfriend, if they brush. You brush.
Just saw the thumbnail came In to say you are so damn attractive and cute wowwwwww. Normally I’d keep scrolling
But just had to express that. Nice day
I'm American. I love Japanese food in general, but I've actually had Japanese school lunch before, and it was flippin DISGUSTING!
