Role Models and Normal are my two favorite songs from The Click (and The Click Deluxe). The other two are also there and I don't really care about them. AJR has said that their next album will be a mix between the production of 3 O' Clock Things and the lyrics of Joe. They also said they don't want to make songs anymore to appease a wider audience and instead want to make music for the fans. They either want people to absolutely love it or completely despise it, with nothing in between. Anyway, I doubt you'll like the album, but I could not be more excited for it!
That’s actually interesting! Hopefully they surprise me! And yeah, those two are absolutely GREAT!
When I first heard Burn The House Down, I really thought that the song was super catchy and the production was very well done. I started bopping my head to it and instantly fell in love with it :)
Absolutely love that for you! ❤️😊
You've liked only 16/57 of the AJR songs you've reacted to, so you have a 28% chance of liking an AJR song lmao
That’s incredible math. My goodness 😂😂

@@TheTuneUp the funny thing is even after the maybe man, this list does not need any updates😂
@@AJRContent your comments are making my days 😂😂😂 I truly hope you know that 😂😂😂❤️🙏🏾
@@TheTuneUp hey, I was wondering if you take reaction requests? If you do, can you please react to Cheers by Jukebox The Ghost
@@AJRContent I do! And that seems pretty interesting! I’ll check it out soon!!
Over time, I've found that I love the "ideas" of AJR more than the actual music they create. I hear moments of genius here and there, but I often find myself skipping/listening through songs and parts I don't like for those bits. I think this is largely why their dialed back songs sound better, as they aren't ruined by distractions. I've also noticed that I tend to initially love their songs upon a first listen, and enjoy them for the hook, but as I listen further to extrapolate more meaning I find that their writing often falls flat. That being said, they've inspired me to create music, and I absolutely admire their ambition. I hope to enjoy their next record.
Absolutely love that. I think it’s great how you took what hit for you, and furthered it into your creative process!! Kudos to you!!! Much love!
"wake up mr west" aged way way too well lmfao
Mannnnn. That hit wayyyyy different given all the current circumstances lmao
@@TheTuneUp I waited MONTHS for this video just to see what you’d think about that line LMFAO
@@Brucesterious hahaha hope it was worth the wait!!
(This is a long comment, hope you can endure reading it lol)
Yooooo! I absolutely love this! I watched certain youtube music reviewers just crap on ajr and make every video they can hating on the band and their fans, and I expected this to be the same, and I got really worried clicking on your ajr videos. I have to say, I was pleasantly surprised. You seem like a very nice person, and I love how you gave a kind and honest review of it. These reviews have earned you a subscriber :)
Anyway, as to what you said in the video. For me, I love burn the house down and louder songs like that (such as way less sad, bang!, ordinaryish people, Bummerland, 3oclock things, I won’t) Also, being a trumpet player myself, seeing the trumpet used really makes me like it more. Normal has to be one of the most relatable songs I have heard, and jacks vocals in it really are powerful.
And don’t think you are alone in disliking living room. I’m a massive ajr fan and am not really a fan of the album, since most sappy, cheesy love songs aren’t really my vibe. (The second half of the album is good though)
I do love that you are a big twenty one pilots fan! I love them. What’s the best song from them in your opinion (for me it’s The Hype from Trench)?
Finally, I hope to see your reaction to TMM! Someone else said stuff about the style they are going for. I am really curious to see your reaction and opinion on it.
I used to LOVE Burn The House Down back when I first heard it, I'm a sucker for a prominent bassline, but it's kinda grown off me a little bit over time, I think going back and listening to it with my current music taste and after hearing their newer work it just falls a little bit flat for me.
As for Role Models, I love the sentiment of it and its crazy how relevant it's managed to stay over the years lol.
Normal is and always will be one of my favourite songs from them, I think it's probably the most genuine and vulnerable tracks they've ever made and it really stands out.
Pretender is... pretender. The acoustic version is definitely wayyyyyyy better than the non-acoustic, but either way I think the track is probably thr biggest offender when it comes to the "AAAAAHHHH" stuff they were doing in The Click era.
I'm glad we have some more tracks to add to the tally now, always good to see, and loved the reaction as usual!
Role Models was special! As was Normal!! Really hope to hear more stuff like that on the upcoming release! Always happy to see your comments pop up!! 😊😊
Unexpected reaction, bro was struggling💀 Glad you liked Normal, valid takes all around(I hate pretender)
Pretender and Burn The House Down are a waste of space meanwhile Normal and Role Models are so fucking good. I’m glad he was able to appreciate the excellence of those 2 songs.
Can’t wait to watch this with my brother 😂 love when you react to AJR lmaoooo, you’re dead inside by now and I don’t blame you hahaah
I used to be a huge AJR fan. They were what really got me into music lmao. As my music taste has changed and I’ve gotten older, I’ve realized that they’re music isn’t very good at all. But they’ll forever have a place in my heart for what they’ve done for me
Beautifully stated. And that sometimes happens! We all grow out of sounds and taste sometimes, but the memories are always long lasting! 😊😊
Exact same thing with me, it’s a good starter band
That just means your tastes changed, it doesn't mean their "music isn't good" lol
@@gardensaladdude90 The concept of a "starter band" is inherently a nonsensical idea lol. Music is all subjective. Complex =/= "good".
@@ruffsnap but it was a starter band for me to getting into music it was the first band I ever liked
If I can make a recommendation for an album I'd like to suggest The Blue Album by Weezer, it's a very polished pop alt rock record from the 90s and one of their best albums. The crunchy guitars and catchy vocals/harmonies always make for a great listen. In my opinion there isn't a bad track on the album and it's considered one of the best rock records ever produced. If you do end up reacting don't bother sugar coating if you don't like it, Weezer pop rock isn't everyone's cup of tea and I get that.
I actually thought that Burn The House Down was alright when I first heard it, now it's just another song that I won't listen to but the song itself is just okay
Yeah, it’s definitely on brand for them! I’m sure it’s a fan favorite! But that’s how I feel too. Just another one I won’t go back to, but much better than something like Bud Like You lol
if you want extra content here are some other Ajr collaboration songs
Pretender (Steve Aoki & lil Yachty) (3rd Favorite)
Record Player (Daisy the great) (Favorite)
Too Late (Quinn XCII) (2nd Favorite)
All my favorite song (Weezer) (4th Favorite)
I mean theirs also "let the games being" but something tells me you wont like it so you can listen to it or you could not its up to you
I’ve been waiting for you to come back to AJR
Here we are! 😂
I'm surprised that you didn't know about Burn the House Down before this video, or maybe you did and you just didn't listen to it. Whatever the case, Burn the House Down is one of their biggest songs. The music video has over 90 million views on youtube and over 320 million streams on Spotify. I think the reason that many of us like it is because of the really catchy bassline and the trumpet. I went to the Ok Orchestra Tour show in Chicago (where I live) and I saw them live and people went absolutely wild when Burn the House Down was being performed. Another thing that many like about the song is the writing. It's about political change, something AJR has never really touched on ever in their discography. It also has moments of self awareness and reflection during the beginning and the bridge respectively. Whatever your opinions on the song, I'm really happy that you got to experience something less irritating (at least for you lol) from the brothers. Another thing you can check out is the Joe live performance from the Ok Orchestra tour, but it doesn't have to be a reaction video. I'm suggesting it because Ryan, the one who actually wrote the song about his experiences, sings it and it's only accompanied by him playing piano and some stomping and clapping because I remember you saying you didn't like the production of Joe in the Ok Orchestra reaction video. But thanks so much for another amazing reaction video! We all enjoyed you liking more from these guys!
Comments: “Bro you gotta listen to this new one tho it’s different this time I swear this time they pitch bend another wacky instrument”
Gared: 😐
The accuracy is off the charts 😂😂
They're at least better than the actual album which isn't a high bar to get over lol. But it also doesn't say much because burn the house down is terrible but role models is cool I think
The guitar melody on Role Models is honestly better than anything on the album 😂 but yeah, those 4 additions, even with Burn the House Down, are definite step up haha
I have never managed to stomach more than a couple AJR songs at a time, although reactions to their stuff continue to be supremely entertaining.
There's something so immensely frustrating to me about a band who continually bring good, albeit half-formed, ideas to the table and then just......they always find a way to ruin it. Every good instrumental lick they come up with, they overproduce it to hell until it's grating to hear. Every ear-wormy melody they write has either disgustingly bad lyrics or so many glitchy effects layered onto it that it's unlistenable.
It's not just that I think they're bad, it's that they're bad in a way that is so much worse to listen to than something that's just bland or boring.
i'e genuinely never heard an ajr song i didn't like, sure there's some i have to be in a certain mood for (ie thirsty thursday, more so just cause i think it's so stupid it's fun), but i can't recall not liking any i've heard
Genuinely love that for you 😊🙏🏾
@The Tune Up I blame them for my love for experimental and wacky music I now have 😭
oh no.
Yes. 😅
hi there, naive music enjoyer and ajr fan here. i love burn the house down, it's really catchy and you can tell they tried to make a catchy song, and other than the twitter lines, i don't really understand what "ajr weirdness" is here that makes the song so bad. i'm still gonna like the song but can you explain why you don't like the song?
First off, you aren’t naive at all! You like what you like! Period! 😁🙌🏾 everything is subjective and nobody knows more than anyone else!! Your taste is your own unique flavor, as is mine!
Secondly, it’s more of what usually puts me off to their approach. I love when they do less in their songs. Simple production like what was on Role Models usually works more for me. But then, on songs like The Entertainment’s Here, the elements they do were much more focused and everything felt bright and engaging! With Burn the House Down for me, I just felt like it was more of the messy production that I usually hear from them. It just didn’t feel well executed as other songs like that I’ve heard from them!
@@TheTuneUp thanks!❤❤❤❤❤❤you're like the nicest youtuber i know. I guess ajr's style isn't for everyone, thanks for answering!
Oh man, I hope doing AJR first doesn't burn you out again before you've even really started 😂😂 I've given them a couple tried and I just... can't.
I’m very glad they have their own fanbase and that they believe in themselves like they do! That’s what matters! Regardless of how I feel, others elsewhere love them!
The burnout though? We’ll have to wait for the album lmao 😂😂
You should check out their collab with weezer (song name is all my favourite songs) and their newest song which is also a collab but I am not sure if its out on their channel just yet, its a collab with QuinXCII (song is called too late) I think you might like the second one and maybe the first one since these dont have a ridiculous amount of sound packed in.
"i would have to listen to the original track to compare the two" Okay so
Pretender is a song by Steve Aoki featuring AJR and Lil Yachty and I.... really hate it. The acoustic is so much better. I guarantee that you'll really appreciate acoustic once you've heard the original.
You mentioned in Love From The Other Side that you weren't excited to do the song, and GOD it shows in the end of this video lmao
What did I tell youuuu 😂😂😂😂
AND WHAT?!? YACHTY AND AOKI?! Aww hell nah 😂
@@TheTuneUp it's already dogshit but then you get to yachty's verse... eugh
@@LemonBattery Someone asked Ryan what his biggest regret was in his career, and he said Yachty's verse.
@@Cashcorn YEAH I REMEMBER THAT "putting lil yachty on pretender.."
Hope Brad reacts to this one lmao
