hannah is tired I absolutely love AJR and this album... however of course I understand that of course different people have different opinions and I really appreciated how this guy was super respectful of your opinion, even though he clearly doesn't enjoy this album... I was kind of expecting you to not like this album, and I wasn’t surprised that you didn’t like almost the entire thing. I’m really glad you liked Turning Out, cause that’s my favorite on the album. I see why you didn’t like Good Part. Even though I enjoy AJR, I find the song annoying. Most of their earlier stuff is more enjoyable. It’s On Us is pretty good, but yeah. I completely respect and understand your opinion and where you're coming from, but I think you took them too seriously. They're supposed to be silly and cartoonish. If you don't like their overall sound, I can get that that wouldn't really work for you.
Really?! See I had never heard of them before all he negativity I saw this album received. So I figured that this was all created with serious intent. I did commend them on the frivolous nature of the album, but aside from that, I really couldn’t get with it 😥😥

I really do appreciate this comment. (And I love the little interaction above 😂) I was really feeling like my videos were un-appreciated if they weren’t suggestions and it really made me unhappy about doing them, but seeing how happy people were to get the notification about the MCR and FOB suggestions was refreshing. I think by doing them spontaneously from now on will help make them fun again! And of course if I enjoy what’s been suggested. 😊 I love y’all though. That’s never changing.

here's what i have found wich is very weird. almost every reactor, reveiw or critic has called this album absouloute garbage putting it in ther worst albums of the year list and such. but whats really weird is people really like this album even though all the critics say it sucks and i like this album a ton and i love ajr. so i dont ge the dissconect. how can th people love it but the critics hate it?
Between fans and critics there’s always going to be a disconnect. I personally don’t consider myself a critic at all because critics assume they know everything there is to know about “good music”. The critics also loved Kanye’s “Yeezus” album and the fans hated it. I just know what I like and what I don’t like. I keep an open mind for everything, but I definitely have a personal taste, and that’s what it always comes down to. People comment and send a lot of wild stuff to me over my opinion of this album, and to them I always say, if you like this album, more power to you. It’s definitely not my cup of tea, but if you like it, that’s all that matters.
Seeing this after your neotheater review, I’m still so thankful that there are people who review albums but can keep from insulting the artist. The click had some bops, but it was also the weakest, I feel AJR can only ever improve.
I gotta respect that even though you didn't like the album at all, you still make sure everyone who's watching is ok if THEY like the album. They're one of my favorite bands, but It's still nice to see you're not judgemental about people liking it
That’s what’s most important! While it’s not for me, as long as they, the artists, pleased their fans, that’s all that matters! Other people like to chew into people for liking things, but that’s never the case with me. Never has been, never will be. 👍🏾👍🏾
This album is definitely an acquired taste and I will say that their album The Living Room is much better. The writing is better, the production is tamer, and the high pitch harmonies aren't as prominent. If you ever decide to give them another listen that's what I would suggest. As always, I loved seeing you reaction and hearing your take on it!

I love this album, but it as super interesting hearing your review. I agree the lyrics are corny but I think that’s what I like. I see it as an album I can just listen to if I need something playing in my head.
Music. Is. Subjective. And that’s the best thing about it. One of my favorite albums of all time but we all look for different things in music.
The overture is just a mashup of all the songs on the album to open it up

Thing is, I fell in love with every song on the first play, honestly I can see why people would dislike certain things, some I do as well, but at the same time, why are they so hated? I love their music, everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but, why do I love their music so much, I've been playing them for 3 weeks straight, know every song lyric by lyric, usually I get bored of constantly listening to something for more than 30 times, but it hasn't happened yet with AJR and the play has to be over 50, I am confused. I got my closest friend into them easily, all the classmates I shared them with loved them. I just don't know
Sometimes we love music just because we love it. Point blank! There doesn’t have to be a reason behind it, it just appeals to you! Whatever they’re bringing to the table resonated with you then, and now! That’s something that doesn’t need to be explained, you know? There’s songs that I love my closest friends despise, and we all keep it moving. I feel like people don’t like them based on what their taste might be, myself included, but the reactions I’ve seen where people just slander them for no reason, I don’t appreciate at all. They’re just making music they like, and enjoying themselves. It’s certainly not for everyone, but for who it is for, they seem to enjoy it. They wouldn’t be making music if they didn’t! 😊

As soon as you said that you didn't like the Overture, I knew that you wouldn't like the album. Just knowing how that stuff works, it doesn't really seem like AJR is your taste, either. I can say that I just really like their songs, and the rest of my family thinks I'm weird for it, so lots of tastes that they don't satisfy, but that's fine

Less is more and I feel like they threw everything they liked all at a wall and said, “that’s our album”, with this one 😂 hopefully this upcoming album is more focused on them honing in on a sound that fits them and letting the creativity flow as opposed to going with any and every idea for the music. I will say that I liked how sporadic the album is, but that's just me and not really listening to albums as a whole, I pick and choose a lot. But yeah, can't wait! And I'll be looking for that video!

Yo I know I'm commenting this 4 years after this video getting released, but the click's 4 deluxe tracks are pretty good, at least in comparison to the rest of the album. I do like the click, although there are some points that you make that I agree with, I still think that the deluxe tracks are a lot better and maybe you should give them a try, maybe a possible reaction video. Still enjoyed this video and your other AJR videos tho.

I honestly love this album and particularly The Good Part is one of my favorite songs. I love the violin all throughout the song, the drums that join in followed by the Piano. I absolutely love the lyrics and the acapella punch line "Can we skip to the good part?" Is amazing to me. This song in particular means and a whole lot me. I respect your opinion as not everyone cannot like everything, so just has you shared what you didn't like about the song, I just wanted to say why I did, I mean balance after all? Just don't appreciate the people calling it "Garbage" and "Trash" to what is someone's hard work and reason to success. Sharing one's Opinion is one thing but spewing hate is just insensitive and unnecessary. I respect your opinion, I just had to back my favorite band up :)

Ha for some reason I got obsessed with this album. It seemed so different to me when I heard it. I totally can see why people wouldn’t like them though. Have you heard their newer song on the radio ‘Burn the House down” (it’s not on the Click)? My fav is Pretender with AJR and Steve Aoki. Im not sure either songs would change your opinion though.

I kinda feel bad for these guys. Fantano just dropped some more criticism on Neotheater and he already sways so many opinions. It just seems like these guys can’t catch a break with their albums. It’s nice to know they have such strong support from their fans though.
Seal_Zander Netflix Trip is a rip off of Human by Jon Bellion, the beat is identical, but Jon Bellion has better vocals and production

Yeah ok, Ultimately I agree, I though this album sound generally way over produced with not enough focus on the writing... I'm wondering what you thought of their last album? They have a few super interesting songs on it that felt a lot more real, but they didn't have the production skills they do now. They overcorrected for this album, but I'm hoping they are working on a better one.

I can understand expectations. More than anything, I think, you're hyper-aware of us liking something so much and wanting to see your POV...you feel like you can't break your 'promise' to us, and the Suggestion Sessions have become an obligation, despite you genuinely being open to hearing new music. Take care of yourself, stay honest and please know that it is ok if you don't like Too Weird cause Brendon himself said that he had a clear focus/direction for the album and was excited to see it polarize people, to see fans either love it or despise it.

Panic! just released a fifteen second audio clip of what sounds like the chorus to King of the Clouds and -- and I'm getting Childish Gambino-Terrified vibes. Legit - that doesn't make any sense, maybe its the harmonies; he sounds exultant, not filled with debilitating paranoia! But still, the first thing that came to mind after hearing it, was Gambino's Terrified performance at the Grammy's -- and it's been a year since I listened to any Gambino.
At this point, I'm just gushing over literally 10 seconds worth, because Panic! just likes to tease us, but I like what they have to offer so far. I like it a lot.
*Feel free to skip this rambling:* Before DOAB, Brendon was asked to describe the album and he said it feels like Fever, not that it sounds like Fever, but that he didn't have the same excitement/energy as DOAB since Fever. And whereas Fever was a vaudeville-carnival act, DOAB was a theatrical production!
Before Pretty. Odd.'s release, the band described it as ...pretty odd. Brendon described Pray for the Wicked as "bizarre". Everything we've heard so far sounds like Brendon is in the sky, on top of the world, literally _high_ . Pretty. Odd. felt exactly like them in a cabin, through fields and on a roadtrip...high. I'm not saying that the new album will sound anything like Pretty. Odd. but ...it is not so much as the approach to making music, so much as.... syntax. Besides just being vintage pop, Silver Lining has a kinship with Pretty. Odd.
14:12 there are so many songs with super satisfying parts to me like that that he thinks are stupid. It’s interesting how one person can find something disgusting and the other satisfying.
I really wanna see him react to "My Ordinary Life" by The Living Tombstone or "Photo ID" by Remi Wolf

I’m a huge AJR fan (known them ever since I’ve heard I’m Ready in middle school) and this album just made me want to listen to them even more when it first come out back when I was starting high school. Also don’t worry dude, I completely respect your point of view in this video. I already know that when it comes to music, not everything is gonna appeal to everyone, so it’s interesting to see how the other side speaks their mind. Hoped you like Neotheater (their newest album as of right now) though, that shit is just.......wow 0-0.

Yeah that man that was pretty rough, for you. This album is a 0/10 for me. Like how does one mess up an interlude....? Ouch. I think it was funny to see an updated version of the disclaimer. Not a disclaimer, but a WARNING. As other critics have said, it’s a bad version of Jon Bellion and TOP combined. I only listened to it once but hearing it again just feels like torture.
That’s honestly the best critique. A really bland, corny, and poorly produced Jon Bellion/TOP mashup album 😔 definitely the toughest album I’ve had to sit through.

Usually, even when I know your not going to like the album I watch the video anyway because you tend to be pretty constructive with your criticism, but I looked through the comments and it just me feel bad about liking this album, I was already feeling pretty down so I didn't bother. Hopefully the next suggestion will turn out better. Also you should probably take hype with a grain of salt, it sucks to have preconceived expectations only to be disappointed. You're really entertaining and I appreciate the honesty in your opinions, however harsh it is! I don't really know how this channel works with suggestions yet but I was wondering if you could react to one ok rock? They signed to Fueled By Ramen and released their first album under them last year but they've been a band for over 10+ years now, huge in Japan. If you do decide to react to them, Ambitions is the album they released under FBR and it has featurings from Alex (ATL), 5SOS and Avril Lavigne (Japan exclusive though). It's actually very different from their older sound (Jinsei x Boku is one of their top older albums).

You saved me the trouble of checking out this album myself. Jesus that was so bad. The production sounded worse than the chainsmokers' album and the vocals are very flat like and I cringed so much. I felt bad for you man having to sit through that. That's the worse album I've ever heard. I was feeling one song and it's so sad that the rest of the album couldn't live up to that.

This album is actually painful. It sounds like music made by people who don't understand what music is and how it works. Overture was actually causing me pain. This album should be outlawed in all countries. How are people putting this shit in their ears and not ripping them off within seconds? You brave soul.
Yeah, this album is outright awful. The production, composition, writing, vocals, everything sucks about this. What’s funny is that their previous album is actually not too bad...it’s not the best, but it has a few alright tracks like “I’m ready”, “Infinity” and especially “Pitchfork Kids”. This album barely has any redeeming qualities. It’s a misguided, poorly rendered mess that makes bands like nickelback more listenable. As for ranking these tracks from least worst to most worst.

Yeah... I didn’t like their lyrics much either. In other videos, I’ve said they I feel like their writing is very childish and juvenile, but on this album specifically, because the production was so unappealing to me, it stuck out more than the writing. Don’t apologize! You’re all good!

Duuuuude you can't compare Jon Bellion to these guys, Weak is like the best song :/
I’m glad you like that song 😊👍🏾 however, all I got from this album was Bellion vibes and I didn’t like it. People keep telling me to listen to his music and after the two projects I’ve heard, I’m not feeling it. Maybe I’ll feel different once I do The Separation, but after Human Condition AND Definition, I’m really not looking forward to it 😔
Okay, at the time in 2018 when I discovered AJR just from The Click... I was conflicted, not just the music but the argument around it just scratch mine head a lot (Criticism from music fans and love & phrase base on the fandom)
Personally, and right now in 2021 (nearly 3 years later) I think this is a good record. Not a amazing record but an enjoyable great Indie Pop and Electropop that I pretty used to these trope all the time (well not all, but pretty much)
I know this is corny, messy, and delivered poorly for nearly all the track. It feels like that, but this is written from all brothers (excluded the credited) from the perspective of their college day, and produced individual from the brothers. Which is why it sounded random and off. Even feels really Disney and influence a lot of things from various artists (including Jon Bellion, twenty one pilots, Imagine Dragons, Macklemore, etc.) but they've been around for quite a long time (given this band been around since 2005) I mean you can still pinpoint the influence since this record came out in 2017
Honestly for me, I prefered AJR over Jon Bellion (cuz his so far has been a bit more messy than general I think AJR would do... Casually, I guess)
Surely that doesn't change your mind that it is probably a awful record

If I’m being honest, no. It’s so over the top to me and the songs feel so messy and made in a wacky manner. If I had heard this first and then the Jon Bellion album, I’m sure I still would’ve said they drew from his album being that Human Condition came out first. 😔
The Tune Up I don’t know if you would like them but AJR just recently released 2 new songs and also I know u really only review albums(from what I’ve seen) but I think it would be cool if you look at mashups of songs Ex: Jon Bellion Morning in America and AJR Weak is one you could do.
The Tune Up I’ve started listening to Jon Bellion in the last month and I completely see what u mean when u say he has more creative lyrics and even some better beats. But I think AJR has some beats that are better than his.
Honestly you just gotta stop taking them so seriously. They’re having fun and being super honest with their work. They don’t take them selves seriously, you shouldn’t either.

Man, I just really got into them and this album was god awful imo. I’d love to see Brad’s taste in music listen. He’d tear this apart. The mixing on a few songs is, well, not the best. I just hate this album in general. Still excited for their future works though. Maybe they’ll surprise me

See, I never liked it at all, and it’s only soured so much more over time. One of my favorite youtubers uses it EVERY TIME he posts a story about his weekly uploads 😂 I’m glad a bunch of people like it though. Regardless of how I feel about the music, I’m not about to dump on people for enjoying something 😊

1. I disagree, there’s chill trap, tropical house, and of course, my favorite genre R&B, along with all the other kinds of music now that’s made a lot better than this was in my opinion.
2. The first two words of the video are why I gave this album a chance. It was fan suggested. If I would’ve known how much it was like the Jon Bellion album, I would’ve stayed away from it.
If you’re a fan of the album, though, more power to you. They just re-released it in a deluxe edition for the fans to enjoy. 👍🏾

Oh no! I know! Trust me, the hate I got from the twenty one pilots fans and the panic at the disco fans a while back was very direct 😂 and you know, I’m hindsight, that would’ve been the smart decision 😂 definitely shoulda cut this one early but I didn’t wanna quit and possibly miss out! 😂😂😂
I do t think you’ve done this yet but I fully suggest this group: BTS. They are a K-Pop band and they’re super amazing, the beats the voices, the meanings, the effort is all there and it’s insane, you should check them out. I’ve only just got into them a few days ago and I’m already obsessed. And if you do decide to ever do a reaction PLEASE react to the music videos too, or just react to the videos bc I can tell you, you may never get a greater experience when watching a video. On point, crazy dance moves is an understatement and the visuals are amazing. Any song is a great pick, I hope you go out on a limb and search them up! :)
