Actually, even though I’m kind of abrasive towards AJR, I really like this song. I like how it’s basically just fun, uses traditional rock instruments over their usual edm schtick and how well they fit into the genre of ska

Been watching your AJR vids since Neotheater, and as a proud AJR fan, I still love these videos! I love how you always give valid criticisms, and even love some of the songs. I personally love the dumb song because of how un-busy it is, and I love the horns. I won’t is my second favourite AJR song (behind way less sad), and the DJ is crying for help is meh for me. That’s what keeps me excited for TMM, the singles.
First off, I love that you have PROUD next to AJR. So many people act like I, and other reactors, like to shame people or demean them for liking these guys. That’s never the case, and it won’t ever be the case. These guys make music you like. Period.

TMM’s full name hasn’t been revealed, but the two most likely theories are “The Music Men” and “The Manic Mob”

Was really curious to see what you'd think about this one given the different responses people have had to it so far
To put in my 2 cents about the end, coming from someone who's an enjoyer of their songs, i genuinely don't know what to expect from the new album. For me the first 2 singles felt kinda gimmicky and there were things in both that irked me (drums and general instrumentation in I Won't and the vocals in the violin part of The DJ) and I had I Won't out of my rotation pretty much within a week and The DJ out of my rotation within around 2, and it had me really scared for the album. The Dumb Song felt like a breath of fresh air, mostly because of the fresher sound-pallet and the (in my opinion of course) better writing than usual. Basically what's got me excited for the new album is that I don't really know what's coming, but based off the song from their initial announcement for it, it seems like something I'd enjoy, and the return of Turning Out will either make or break the album imo. Then again I guess we'll never know until it comes out
I personally liked the dumb song because of the happy sound, and because of the fact that I like louder songs.
And the lyrics. The dumb song had interesting lyrics to me, and I feel like people could def relate. I am a horn player myself, and I think I said this in a different comment, but seeing horns take center stage makes me happy. I know the transitions can be a bit weird (and the you should not have done that sucks), but honestly, it was such a happy song that I couldn’t help but be happy hearing it.
Also, I really didn’t like the DJ is Crying for Help, it felt way too rushed and spliced, I feel you on that.
About the new album. I am worried that I will be let down honestly, but I’m hopeful. With these singles, it took me a few listens or so to actually feel it more, but I think the non-single songs always seem to outshine the singles. That’s my opinion.

The main reason why I love ajr is that you can never really guess what the song will be like take the last 3 songs for example I wont had that pitch bending string the dj is crying for help had that violin in the main chorus and the dumb song takes the melodies from Christmas In June so when you take that unknown factor with music then it can create a lot of hype of what their song will sound like and also because I can't tell good writing and bad writing
This might be a bad time to bring this up, but in the teasers for the song, they said it took them a year and a half to make this song. So, yikes

I was actually pleasantly surprised by this one. I don't think it's too obnoxious and gives TOP - Formidable vibes. Not a fan of the song, but I think it's one of their best. It has me feeling indifferent, but that's way better than hating it 😂

This track is not good but it’s not the worst AJR song I’ve ever heard. This is actually pretty surprising because this is the first time I’ve seen you Hate a AJR song more than Brad Taste In Music. And this is definitely their most well received song. But i definitely get why you didn’t like it at all.
It still has a lot of the negatives of your average AJR song but I feel the positives are slightly more apparent on this one at least to me. It’s definitely one of their better instrumentals that almost makes me forget about the terrible Lyrics.
I love these AJR videos but I can’t wait to see what you have next. Hopefully non AJR related

Honestly as someone who was obsessed with them back in freshman year high school (their main demographic apart from man children) I UNDERSTAND what you mean when you saying that their new music sounds identical to songs they’ve made before, they made their own small genre and do nothing new outside their comfort zone

Ironic how the poison of some is sugar for others, i LOVED with every inch of my body this song, it's just a "i'm way too dumb to understand some things and that's ok" or at least that's how i see it, the rhythm goes hard as always, i heard you say in the "god is really real" reaction that these songs have been very inmature on their lyrics like it's a bad thing, but honestly i have been enjoying these new singles for the next album

i just wanna make this clear i do respect peopls opinions, but as a fellow ajr fan i dont see why ajr gets so much hate for trying something different than other artists, they just want to be unique and more creative, like what they did with the dumb song, their just experimenting with what they can make.
I think it’s because hating on them became meme-able. Once something catches fire on the internet, it’s a done deal that EVERYONE wants a piece of. For me, it’s not that deep, and all I care about is the music. Whether I like it or not is just my honest feelings and opinions. That’s why I constantly stress, my opinion isn’t law, nor is it final. At the end of the day, all that matters is whatever you like to listen to. If these guys are that, disregard anything anyone else has to say. It’s white noise at that point. It doesn’t hit for me, but it does for you, and that’s all that is important. Period. 😊

AJR has said the new album was made with the tour very much in mind. We also know that there's gonna be a Turning Out Pt. III, a song with 6 tempo changes, and 13 tracks overall. There might be some other info I'm missing but yeah.
I did not like The Dumb Song and have very low expectations for the album.

Oh yeah i have a AJR song recommendation for you! Its called Its On Us, you don’t need to do a video on it but i’d like to know what you think of it! They made it for a sexual assault campaign back in 2017
I only know these guys from a handful of songs, similar to those, this doesn’t leave much of an impression on me. It sounds like any stock upbeat song you’d hear in a modern commercial or trailer. Really in one ear out the other.

Seeing Brad Taste in Music like this song more than you was NOT the outcome I expected, lmfao! I don't much care for AJR, but that's more because I have no strong feelings about them at all. I just enjoy watching what other people say about them.

this song is so inoffensive to me, not a lot of substance at all. (well, i say it's inoffensive, but i definitely felt offended by that bridge, with that "you should noot have done that" shit 💀) the only positive i can really say is i like the use of more natural drums and instruments, i hope they lean into that in the record. but yeah i'm definitely not expecting much from tmm, my guess is it will for sure be worse than ok orchestra
