    Red and black! Great retro 80's look mate. No cooker so takeaways is the way to go. Perfect blokes van. Useless for a family and my missus thinks it's made for lads fishing trips.

      😂 no it’s a couples van. It’s just they chose not to cook in it!

    Love this layout. Seriously considering this layout for my future van. Have you installed this layout with seatbeats?

    • @dcdtransporters
      @dcdtransporters  Год назад +1

      Good question, and one we get asked a lot.
      The ideal position for the seatbelts would be at the very back of the van facing forwards. If you have two people facing forward their legs would be pointed into each other at a bit of a diagonal to miss the cabinets.
      Unfortunately there is no ideal solution to fit people comfortably without compromising either safety or cabinets.
      Our recommendation for those wanting seat belts is to fit a rock and roll style bed.

    This is a great set up, doing something very similar. How do you create the black strips for the flooring? Love the ship deck look

    Interesting and good to see something a bit different, not sure about the staggered bed layout though...can see my knees/shins getting battered during the night!😅 also think youd definately want rear panel windows to optimise the lounge area.

    • @dcdtransporters
      @dcdtransporters  Год назад +1

      Surprisingly the cupboard vs shin has only happened once, luckily quite lightly too! We mainly sleep on the main bit with just our shoulders into the wider section.
      Our demo van has the rear windows to maximise the seating view and works well. Although I haven’t cut the tailgate window as I like to lean against that while in bed.

    Is that a flat pack set up that I could do myself? It’s a super set up. Would be ideal for what I need. 😊

    Looks great!, Quick question, the kitchen unit on the non drive side I take it that could be adapted to put the other sliding door side, just looking for inspiration for my build :)

    • @dcdtransporters
      @dcdtransporters  Год назад

      Yeah for sure. The U-shape is actually more of a J so the passenger side is longer. You could have a small cabinet, ie the size of the fridge next to the longer section. We’ve also made both sides the same length and reversed round for LHD vehicles so lots of possibilities.

    Looks amazing, I have just had this layout fitted to my Renault trafic. Can I ask how the support leg is fitted to the corner of the bed? Ours doesn't have one and definitely needs it!

    • @dcdtransporters
      @dcdtransporters  Год назад

      I would definitely recommend you have one or the corner won’t be supported at all if you put weight on it.
      We fit a flip down leg with a hinge so gravity takes it when you flip the panel over. The hinge supports the leg once down.

      @@dcdtransporters thank you, what size timber is best? Does it interfere with the cushion sitting flat when folded away?

    Do you lie on these beds diagonally if you’re 6ft? I can’t find any videos where someone is demonstrating how long they are

    • @dcdtransporters
      @dcdtransporters  5 месяцев назад +1

      If you wanted this layout I’d recommend you had a LWB van. That way you’d have a bed that was over 6ft in length.
      They end up with approximately 1900mm of usable space.
      The SWB van is always going to be a compromise of bed length vs how much the units protrude into the door opening.

    Love the layout. Shame it restricts you to only 2 people when driving though which I would imagine is unavoidable?

    • @dcdtransporters
      @dcdtransporters  Год назад +3

      Yes two seat belts in this one. You could have the double passenger seat which would give you three.
      These are really designed for when the kids have left!

    What sort of thickness is the furniture made with just thinking of strength wise for the large person😂

    • @dcdtransporters
      @dcdtransporters  Год назад +1

      Hi, it’s pretty strong. It’s 15mm birch ply which when cut and jointed correctly is really strong. Comfortably taking two adults.
