Love the U-shaped layout, seen quite a few vans now with this rather than the traditional "down the side" furniture / RIB. IMO works best with LWB. I would also have a pop top for both headroom and alternative sleeping to keep the lounge area sometimes rather than make up the bed all the time.
Interesting layout. However think there are now only two belted seats? Just wonder if having everything fixed might be restrictive? For example my drive away awning is quite large even when packed so not sure it would fit. However it is always great to see a creative use of space . Well done for a lovely job.
Thank you. We could have up to three seats up front with the belts on. So two adults and a child could travel safely if you have the double passenger seat. This van was really designed for a couple though. We have a driveaway awning from outdoor leisure and it fits in the cupboard under the seat next to the main cabinet. If you have quite a large awning you may find it doesn’t fit as you said, this would be the first thing to set up once you got to your site though so wouldn’t be in the way for long.

@@dcdtransporters Hi, been watching your videos for a while now and we have just started our conversion and really want this flooring you have installed. What width dark oak strips did you use on the flooring? I'm assuming it's 10mm but your input would be really appreciated 👍. Thank you for your great videos.
@@raywilson395 hi Ray. Sorry I was having account issues earlier. Please do check your schedule and see if you can pop over as discussed, you’re more than welcome to view the vans with this flooring.
Hi , Just come across your channel and subscribed, great content! I've recently bought a Toyota Proace Verso, do you think the u shape bed unit would fit? Not sure how it compares to VW dimensions. Thanks in advance :)
Thanks! Broadly speaking the U-shape for a VW T5/6 is 1600mm wide and varies between 2245mm long (SWB) to 2490mm long (LWB) on the cabinet side. And 1720mm (SWB) to 1820mm (LWB) in length on the other side. Hope that helps.
How wide is the bed once its setup? Is it the same as a rock & Roll (3/4 width)? It looks like the person sleeping on the right hand side (viewed from the rear) would have to be short as the cupboards would be in the way? Is there a U shaped solution that provides a full width bed?
The idea is it provides a good compromise on full width and keeps some cupboards for storage and a worktop suitable for a cooker. The top of the bed is the full width of the van. The person sleeping on the shorter side doesn’t have to be short but instead sleeps at a slight diagonal. This creates a much larger space as the shoulder area is increased. The section passed the cabinet is the same as a 3/4 rock and roll bed. The other benefit it when dining you can sit opposite each other in a much more natural way. Rather than next to each other on a traditional rock and roll bed. The other option is a full length on both sides but with a much smaller cabinet.
Is the furniture removable or do you offer a removable version of the same layout please? Im interested in this layout for my t5.1 kombi but with a smaller work surface unit as i have twin sliders so want the same gap as on the "long bench" side...
This won’t fit the kombi, we do specific furniture for the kombi which can be made to be removable. Get in touch with us directly and we can discuss what could potentially work best for you.
Brilliant video just subscribed. I’m really interested in working in this area, what you guys do is great. I have been working as a joiner for 20years on furniture and bespoke items but looking to make a change. I live about 45mins from bury st Edmonds. Be great to see your work shop at some point
I’m not really sure why that would be. We’ve played this back on several different devices and don’t get the problem you mention. If it’s any consolation we don’t have the radio on anymore when filming. I thought on this occasion it might have been nice as it was Christmas when the video was made. Sorry it wasn’t great for you.
Very nice layout
Thank you.
Love the U-Shape, I’m 6ft 1 and heard from a few other vids that I’ll struggle In this sort of set up. What are your thoughts on this?
If you’ve not already got a van I’d highly recommend you get a LWB. The u-shape bed on that would be perfect for you.
I hate my rock n roll bed. Its solid even with an inflatable mattress topper. Desperate to refit mine. This is lovely.
Thank you. If you’re not using the seatbelts to move passengers then the U-Shape would definitely get you more storage and a bigger bed.

Love the lay out it would be good if you could show the storage you have under the bed and cupboards
I totally agree with you about the u shape layout , so much good seating space.
Absolutely! Much more natural sitting position in the van too.
Looks great , well designed , exactly what I’m after with my van

Hi 👋🏻 with the swivel seats can you have the leisure battery system under the passenger seat ?
Yes. Absolutely 👍🏻 😊
Difficult to listen to this with the loud music
Not sure why you’re experiencing high background music. It isn’t that loud on any of our devices.
這種房車佈局真的很好!
I need this layout
Can you do this with seatbelts in the back?
@@robbiecockburn1489 sorry no.
Love that karndean floor too. What is the name of that one?
Natural oak with dark oak strips.

Thinking of doing something like this for my swb t5 loving the colour combo of the units and the floor and roof, what is the colour?
Hi, the units are satin black. The roof and side panel are Oak veneer. The floor is oak with dark oak strips.
what was the cooker brand/model called couldnt quite here it on the video , nice build love the rear draw cooking and table module
Hi. It’s a Cadac, two cook pro deluxe.
Got rid of my rnrill bed and did an l shape instead, it is so much better

Unlikely, the connect is much smaller than a T5/6
