SHE says, Women DON’T transmit HIV!

  • I’m increasingly seeing more misleading content saying that women don’t give #HIV to men in spite of studies that prove otherwise. These claims are qualified by pointing to anecdotal (personal experience) evidence. Anecdotal evidence is not scientific. There are SO many factors that can skew the information and even create ‘confirmation bias.’
Put simply, This is when the answer you’re seeking to find gets confirmed over and over again by virtue of the fact that it’s the answer you’re looking for.
Not denying AT ALL that a lot of women acquire HIV from a man who acquired it from another man. But we don’t need to confuse the public about female transmission risk in order to acknowledge this reality. Not to mention in other parts of the world, this story is very different.
We also don’t need to be stereotyping or making homophobic, stigmatizing comments about the gay community in order to bring attention to the hurt/trauma that a lot of straight cis women are dealing with. We DO need to have those conversations!
We can do both. We can respect science, data, lgbtq communities and we can also increasingly address the needs of often overlooked and under-served groups of people living with HIV.
To top it off, this post was made at the start of pride month and even used the hashtag #happypride
We need to stop stigma and support a healing narrative!

If you take a look at the porn industry, all the Hiv cases were trasmited by gay actors or dudes that once did gay porn, not even one single case in the conventional straight industry in all history of porn, shes kinda right about it cause over 85% people living with hiv is gay, and always been a gay stigma, dont take it as a personal ofense, she was just explaining what she knows bout it based on her experience...

That’s an incorrect stat. Over 50% of people living with HIV are women and girls

I've watched this lady's channel for quite a few episodes. She had full blown AIDS and was very sick by the time she found out she had it. She had/has a channel and made a lot of videos like 10 years ago. She is very educated on it and knows better. She shared the facts about HIV and how you contract it correctly on her old videos. Idk why she retrograded lol. I think she is single again or recently got rejected by a man and this is her denial talking as well as a way of trying to convince someone in her personal life that it's ok and safe to date her.
If this is the case, probably whoever rejected her did so for a different reason and he just used her status as an easy excuse/reason. I wish I really her name, (Jennifer maybe)

I think while her opinions are wrong and could be potentially harmful. We should be careful about making assumptions about the reasons behind her change in behavior. It’s not fair to assume a woman changed her opinion based on a man she is or isn’t dating. I think likely she found a community of HIV+ women who contracted the virus the same way and turned that anger into misinformation and gay stereotyping.

Very interesting observations! You are a smart judge of character. She used to be really educated but has gone totally whacky. Like you, I think she has been rejected by men. I believe she does not tell sexual partners about her status now.

It’s because she’s been doing surveys of couples where the woman has hiv and the man does not and the man has never caught it. Believe it or not in these couples eventually many men will stop using condoms and they don’t catch HIV. There’s also been articles about it the POZ magazines. Also once you are on medication and are undectable you can’t spread hiv.

Yeah, I saw this video some time ago and I found it troubling. Is like trying to disassociate from the truth, which is that if you have it you could transmit it if not treated properly.

She got that opinion based on how long she had hiv without knowing an never transferring it to her bf of I'm not mistaken. But obviously if women couldn't give hiv they'd be able to breastfeed

Breastfeeding is very different from hetero sex. The penis doesn’t take in vaginal fluid.

For sure there also are men who have been infested by women, its not only the other way around. I knew a man years ago who got it from a (female) prostitute. Better for everyone to protect himself/herself, no matter whar new theories come up.

    • @RaifDerrazi
      @RaifDerrazi  3 месяца назад +11

Yes, i did note that. and if i repeated back that it doesn't seem 'virtually impossible' back that would have been more clear. I will note though, that many people say the same of U=U that it's virtually impossible to transmit HIV but in that case it really IS virtually impossible and there are no known documented cases of HIV transmission happening when someone is undetectable. To say that female-to-male transmission is in a similar position is VERY inaccurate and I know many women who transmitted HIV to a man. That's why even though she said 'virtually impossible' i still find it VERY misleading
