Visited Istanbul summer of 2013, and although I've been a bunch of places (perks of having a pilot for a dad), that city is so far the most memorable. Lots of colors, spices, history, and rich culture
This is beautiful and amazing (like the other 24 hours in a city videos). And the fact that it was filmed in the city I live in makes it even more amazing to me.Thanks for coming to Istanbul!
I cannot tell you how amazing these '24 hours in...' videos have been. The fact that you're willing to wear that unbelievably heavy and eye-catching helmet as well in order to create these videos for us does not go unappreciated :^) X
This was so amazingly filmed and edited, I don't care that the videos are short as long as they have had hark work gone into them 😊 Istanbul is now on my bucket list 😂
Anyone else think 6:32 was such a random time to set an alarm? haha - beautiful footage alongside a great edit. No complaints here. The JackGap team are such talented individuals: if you haven't already I'd check out all their personal channels! They're killing it right now, very inspirational.
Matt James Orr I was thinking that too, maybe it was set for 6:30 but it took like two minutes to get coherent enough to get a video haha. Also, totally agree, every person on the team is amazing!
The editing is absolutely stunning, you do each city you visit in the series complete justice, from the architecture to the people to the atmosphere. I really hope you make more content in this style!
Lana As much as i hate advertising myself, I need to get the word out! So if anyone could check out my vlogs it'd be much appreciated as I've had great feedback so far, and this fanbase is the loveliest! Thank you guys!
As a Turkish am so glad that you came to Turkey. Hope you enjoyed. I think 24 hours is too short for see Istanbul and 2 minutes is too short for video but so beautiful. We want to see you again in Turkey. Come with Finn :)
I cannot emphasize how amazing these '24 hours in...' videos have been. Unbelievable editing. I hope you return to this series and do more in the future!!
The best thing about this incredible channel is how every single video is noticeably better than the last. As good as it's been for ages now, this is definitely your best video yet. Incredibly immersive. I'm off to Istanbul myself in two weeks; this definitely whetted my appetite!
since i started making videos ive really noticed the way videos are edited and shot, and your videos are what i aspire for my videos to be like in the end. Thanks for inspiring me :D Awesome video
+Jason Hyde I totally agree with you man!! Jacksgap is one of my inspirations as well. Will defs check out your channel. Feel free to check out mine... I make funny skits/vlogs but I have plans to make it more than that. Keep making videos no matter what!!! And whoever else is a content creator. Try not to worry too much about the views otherwise you will get too caught up in it. I used to stress about the stats but now I just make videos for me. And most of the time I spend hours editing a video and it gets two likes (from my grandma and mom) haha. Maybe one day...
***** I cannot even begin to describe how rich and enchanting of a city that Istanbul is--I was there a little over two years ago and I miss it terribly every single day and I want nothing more than to go back.
For anywhere else you travel PLEASE continue this series!! Just take one day from your trips for this series because honestly this is your best work from your channel so far and I've been subbed for years, since nearly the beginning. I only wish the videos in this series were longer so I could see more of the beauty of where you've been.
yknow i love these videos and love that you've found a true career and have so much passion for filming but i also miss just seeing you in front of the camera, having a chat with me/your subscribers. It felt personal like you were my friend, and I really, really miss that. Anyway, safe travels
I feel so happy that you've visited my country and made a video about it, showing the world how beautiful it is. And Jack I must say all ur videos are so beautifully edited 💗
THE SOUND DESIGN IS SO GOOD! Love this series, the shots are always beautiful and the way the background noise is like delayed and echoey is so frickin awesome.
These videos have to be my favorite of all the videos on youtube. They're so raw and filled with culture. Filmed and edited so beautifully as well. I'm glad you have finally been living the fullest life, Jack.
Every time I watch this I get the chills, I just think they're amazingly shot and edited and they reflect the beauty of the city. They make me want to visit Istanbul. Great job guys.
You guys are really GOOD COLLECTIVE keep pushing I love what you do and admire your work. Some people are dumb enough to call you copycats, you guys were developing your style throughout years and from "chubby bunny youtuber" you become filmmaker. Cheers for that progress :)
Tor Don't bash chubby bunny, where do you think Jack got all the money to pay editors and stunt men to film this series? Those irrelevant challenge videos were $$$
xqeenx I don't think he's bashing, just pointing out that it requires much more talent and maturity to film videos like this one than it does to do the chubby bunny challenge. Have you seen the way this is edited? Jack has grown as a content creator and Tor is giving him props for that.
what camera/editing system does he use this is amazing i would love to travel to all these different places and see all the beautiful things he has seen. wow
This is an artwork!! I love this so much, the shots are so beautiful,, the editing is clean and the music works sooo well with the film. The build up in the middle is complementary to the film and I think this is by far my favourite of your 24hrs in... Everything works so well together. Keep creating!
wow! you know travel videos are good when they make you want to go to the place with a sense of urgency! istanbul has moved up on my travel bucketlist, loved the unusual editing of this! amazing! thanks jack!
After watching this I really want to be there so badly, such a beautiful city. But the way Jack sets his alarm makes me laugh, because I also do the same thing. Like I set it at 6:32 rather than 6:30 because I have 2 more minutes to sleep while I really want to wake up at 6:30 haha.
THIS GAVE ME CHILLS. This is incredible. Your videography is amazing. The shots you get blow my mind. The quality is out of this world. The editing is flawless. Excellent on every level.
i LOVE this. Jack, I think you found your style! The fast-paced and almost overwhelming taste of a country's culture makes for rich and dramatic cinematography. You Sir, are a genius. Keep up the awesome work! I always look forward to your uploads (: This video and all your videos are proof that if you truly enjoy what you make, you can make some amazing things. So inspiring!
Yeah it obviously really affected him/them and it upset me to see that and thought it was a real shame that somebody could stop him from making the content he wanted to just because somebody else is doing it. What I didn't get was how people could accuse Jack of copying Casey when about A MILLION people do daily vlogs! Any way I just think it was really unfair on Jack and it's so sad that it stopped 1) Jack creating what he wanted to 2) him not being able to share the start of his business with the Internet. I sincerely hope that he did film those days so that it is recorded and he has the choice to make those vlogs one day if he wants to.
This is a great video but the editing style seems to be very heavily inspired by Watchtower of Turkey. Imitating someone else's work is not intrinsically bad and can be a great learning experience but it would be nice to see something more original from the JacksGap team, or at least a polite acknowledgement to the creative people providing the inspiration.
Jake Wright This is a *great comment but the editing style seems to be very heavily inspired by Casey Neistat. It would be nice to see something more original from you, Jake. *by great I mean, boring/exhausted/excessive Honestly if Casey wouldn't have posted that video about "Rip Off Artists" in the first place and people didn't assume that it was JacksGap that he was talking about, no one would have the guts to publicly accuse them of plagiarism. Just because Jack's Vlogs SLIGHTLY resembled Casey's, simply because they were artistic, now everyone is overanalyzing and nit picking every single freaking video of Jack's just because Casey Neistat made them feel empowered to. It's hard for me to judge because I've only seen about 10 seconds of the first video that plays on your channel, but it appears to me that JacksGap has heavily influenced your work and there is absolutely no credit in your description, now is there? I would apologize for being so defensive however I'm honestly just so tired of Jack and his team working their ass off to create quality content only to be accused of not being original enough.
Honestly dude, it was nothing like watchtower of turkey. Editing style? Really ? Jack didn't use any kind of fancy editing in this video and other dude who made watchtower of turkey had some cheesy effects in it. Bye
Jake Wright I have seen the video you mentioned and it is SO FAR from this video. It used vastly different techniques in cinematography and editing. I don't mean to be rude but the first video that plays on your channel reminds me so much of a Jacksgap video. Even the style of your thumbnails. How does that make you feel?
It's such a great pleasure to watch your videos, and it's even better when it's about my own culture and country! Thank you for sharing this beautiful video with the world jack, it's an honour to know that you have visited my country❤️🎉 (Btw I live in London through)🌸
Not that I'm fully opposed to but obviously this video covers only %1 of the 'western' side of Istanbul with the streets, the people etc. For that reason only I am quite upset by how videos like this and watchover can give deceptive image to those who know nothing real about here beside these videos and some movies(which I can say exactly the same). To fans(I am one too): please don't take this as a negative comment since it wasn't and start bashing mine. Thanks.
I don't why you guys are embarrassed by this video, you should be very proud of our history and culture! Yes, there are more modern areas in Turkey that are western, but why try and hide the true beauty of this city and country! I'm so proud of being turkish and this video proves why Turkey is the best county in world because of its rich, history and culture.
+Phoebe “phoebecagla” Cagla Oh my god, Bahcesehir :D I used to live 5 minutes away from it when I lived there. I grew up in the Western side of Istanbul, spent my whole primary school years there and it was really great, I miss it so much!
I'm sooooooo glad he filmed the mosque. At least I hope it was a mosque. It was playing the nasheed.... I think. Please tell me I'm not being stupid here?!
You're honestly getting so so good at video making Jack. You're truly talented. I'm loving the new content and getting to experience your adventures with you. Lots of love :)
I just love how jacksgap make such amazing high quality videos and u can really tell that they put a lot of work and time into them and they are just so different , they make that type of videos that you wont see as often here on youtube ,, i really appreciate and respect all've ur work guys , keep it up
Troy Nguyen Because he went to the same country and made a film?? Watchtower and this are soooo different on so many levels. Oh my God, you people need to chill.
It definitely isn't as good as the watch tower of Turkey by Leonardo Dalessandri. It is also pretty rude for Jack to even put something similar up and not mention who he is heavily influenced by.
I also feel that we shouldn't solely criticize jack, however criticize the entire team with the influence of work by Leonardo. Although this video isn't as similar to Leonardo's watchtower videos as 24 hours in Tokyo was, I feel as stated above it would have been nice if jack gave some credit for whom this series was influenced by. Overall, I am not saying that jack copied Leonardo, but jack was definitely influenced by Leonardo's work with the making of this series.
Marwa O I am just going to criticise the uploader simply because my problem is not with him creating something similar (because we all do the same at some point in life), but it is with him uploading and not mentioning anything related to Leonardo. Being influenced is not a bad thing, but taking credit for the method and creativity of the filming is, especially because it's so similar, to the point that he has even used the same sound effects.
Watched this with my Turkish friend Ali. So awesome man keep it up!
***** i watched it with my cat Chico :D
Why don't you and your friend come to turkey?
HEY ***** JacksGap DON'T YOU MEAN YOUR FRIEND, "A LEE"
HAHA ANYONE GOT THAT?
i would say come to London but you guys already live there..
It is awesome here in Istanbul. We would welcome you with pleasure :)
The people there look so friendly and nice!
Turkish people are so friendly

***** I felt privileged tbh haha
Hajar Vilano what you mean?
I cannot tell you how amazing these '24 hours in...' videos have been. The fact that you're willing to wear that unbelievably heavy and eye-catching helmet as well in order to create these videos for us does not go unappreciated :^) X
George Braithwaite Completely agree, George!!! It's so fab

I miss Istanbul so much. Can't wait to get back in November and stock up on spices. Pide is AMAZING!!!

Matt James Orr I was thinking that too, maybe it was set for 6:30 but it took like two minutes to get coherent enough to get a video haha. Also, totally agree, every person on the team is amazing!
Matt James Orr He must have pressed the snooze button to get the shot, just a guess.
Matt James Orr I like to set up my alarm on random times because accuracy is boring
My alarm rings at 06:03 hahah
Matt James Orr mine is at 5:48 or 5:49, random is not necessairly bad.
The editing is absolutely stunning, you do each city you visit in the series complete justice, from the architecture to the people to the atmosphere. I really hope you make more content in this style!
kültür turizm bakanlığı videosundan daha güzel olmuş
Amazing, as always. Love this series!
I love it, too. Is amazing 😀

I think the unseen star of this vid has to be Adrian Bliss, who did the sound. Really really impressive sound design!
Nizamuddin Girach I agree. He's killin it with the sound design in all of these films. He did Ben's Visual Vibes as well.
As a Turkish am so glad that you came to Turkey. Hope you enjoyed. I think 24 hours is too short for see Istanbul and 2 minutes is too short for video but so beautiful. We want to see you again in Turkey. Come with Finn :)

It was the call to prayer: adhan or as the turks say Ezan :)
Its called adhan the imam call for prayer , nasheed is like singing with drums only
I love the flow of this. This whole series is so intriguing to me and the great cinematography makes it even better
fuck me that was amazing. I must visit Istanbul

You're honestly getting so so good at video making Jack. You're truly talented. I'm loving the new content and getting to experience your adventures with you. Lots of love :)
*mind blown* is all I can say!
this is beautiful 💗
I just love how jacksgap make such amazing high quality videos and u can really tell that they put a lot of work and time into them and they are just so different , they make that type of videos that you wont see as often here on youtube ,, i really appreciate and respect all've ur work guys , keep it up
This guy ripped off the Watchtower of Turkey..
Nahhh.. I guess watchtower is much better... imo
Omg he comes Turkey and I didn't see him 😥😭
You're style of filming amazes me and the editing the mind blowing. Good work jack
Just please come too Indonesia, Pleaseeee T^T
