So, I found this group from one of my favourite films Bridge To Terrabitha. In the film, the kids in school sing ‘Why Can’t We Be Friends’ in music class. Each time I watch the film, I just love the scene where they sing it. Decided to find out who sings the song and now I’m learning about a band with great music I’ve never heard of before and enjoying the vibes! 💜💚 Music 🎶. I’m totally buying their music now ☺.
Just found this and it damn well made my day. Better yet, this made my Jan. in Atlanta. I will now listen to this every day to start my adventure. Awesome!!!
This might be "WAR" by name only with 1 original member...but if you really want to hear classic WAR you need to catch "The Lowrider Band". That band has the real members.
This is not the Original band they were all Black Men but now you see a mixture of every other nationality the sound is still great because of the lead singer.
@@JKFlaker Hey! So, here's the crib notes on it. The singer keyboard guy here..and the Lowrider Band were the orig. WAR. for decades. Their manager trademarked the name. He went with the manager and reformed a new group under the name. The ousted members (Now THE LOWRIDER BAND) aren't even allowed to say like "feat. Orig members of WAR" ETC, ETC. Can't even really advertise who they are/were....but WE can 😎
This ain't War it's just Lonnie from War and some other guys singing the song Summer. I hate when groups break up and it's two or three members using the group name
Leroy "Lonnie" Jordan didn't "sell out" anybody. He was the only member of the original group who chose to stay with record producer Jerry Goldstein, who just happened to be the one that conceived the original 'WAR' while the rest of the band .. Brown, Oskar, Scott, and a returning B.B. Dickerson (who had not worked with War since 1979) adopted a name which referenced one of War's biggest hits: Lowrider Band. - They have yet to record a studio album. - 1979 saw the departure of B.B. Dickerson during recording sessions for their next album and the group lost another member when Charles Miller (saxophone) was murdered in 1980. He was replaced by Pat Rizzo (ex Sly and the Family Stone) in 1979. - Other new members joining at this time were Alice Tweed Smith (credited as "Tweed Smith" and "Alice Tweed Smyth" on various albums) on percussion and vocals (giving the band its first female vocalist), and Ronnie Hammon as a third drummer.- Of course, you're probably referring to the 'Re-Union' concert on April 21, 2008, when Eric Burdon and Lonnie Jordan reunited for the first time in 37 years to perform a concert as War at the London Royal Albert Hall and the other original surviving members were not asked to be a part of the reunion. It was Eric Burdon who insisted they go with the 'NEW' lineup for the reunion concert .. not Lonnie. - You see .. the concert coincided with Avenue / Rhino Records' Eric Burdon and War reissues which included Eric Burdon Declares "War" and The Black-Man's Burdon, plus compilations The Best of Eric Burdon and War and Anthology. - Lonnie Jordan opted to remain with Goldstein and create a new version of War with himself as the only original member. Some other musicians who had joined between 1983 and 1993 were also part of the new line-up. Both the "new" War and the Lowrider Band are currently active as live performance acts. ~~
@@kenmurphy6792 Right On! Not to mention a couple fun facts for you music buffs out there. The band WAR actually began as the backup band for the Los Angeles Rams player Deacon Jones called Nightshift. Truth!
Your absolutely correct. This is not the real WAR BAND. The real HOMIES are the LOWRIDER BAND.
Unfortunately, Low Rider Band’s lead vocalist has not aged well vocally. The lead singer in the current band “War” still sounds great.
❤😊❤😊❤😊!!!!!!
nice song
The best
Lonnie's still rockin
I wanna hang out with these guys
This is not the Original band they were all Black Men but now you see a mixture of every other nationality the sound is still great because of the lead singer.
They actually had white guys in the back in the 70’s. One was Eric Burdon and another was a harmonica player whose name I don’t recall.
Honey fire up the Cadillac, we're going for a drive...
They are really growing. Debbie 11:15am
❤ lindos encantadores
Sax made me cry
A silhouette candy with saying yes why why can be with friends
👌
🥰👂
T dye was a must to be cool!😊
Didn't even know they were still together.
They're not. It's Lonnie with a bunch of fakes.
The Lowrider Band is all of the alive previous members except the one backstabber here....
@@Squirrelconga Thanks I just checked out a couple of Lowrider videos 👍🏼. I don’t know anything about their history.

This is not WAR

I still don't know HOW Lonnie could sell out the real members of war like he did.
