- I recently flew from London Stansted airport to Reykjavik, the capital of Iceland, on a brand new Icelandic low-cost budget airline called PLAY. The plane was an airbus A320 and this trip report video gives a review of what the journey and plane was like. I look at the seats, space, leg room, crew and food offerings.
PLAY also flies from multiple destination across Europe to Reykjavik as well as from three cities in the USA - New York, Baltimore/Washington and Boston.
I've got to say I was very impressed. The flight was very smooth, on time and the crew was the friendliest I have encountered on a flight in a LONG time. Watch the video to see what I mean... - Развлечения
You are right Jo . Play seems just that little cut above the rest of the LCC’s . Excellent leg room , recline and a power outlet is not usual in budget carriers . The plane is a A320neo and just under 3 years old , yes I am a plane nerd !! 😀😀. Smashing review Jo.
I LOVE that you're a plane nerd David. I agree, a power outlet was a surprising extra for a budget airline which I really appreciated. So pleased you enjoyed the video!
@@gowithjo1 . I’m a nerd , through and through . My nieces call me Uncle Nerd 😀. I’ve got an adult Son and daughter and 6 grandkids , so as you can work out , I’m an old nerd ! , and proud of it too . My best wishes from Sydney 🦘🇦🇺
Hey Jo! This airline reminds me of Southwest Airlines....No frills but gets you from point A to point B!!! Happy Traveling!!! XXX
hey, as long as we get there safely, that's good news in my opinion! Are Southwest Airlines crew particularly lovely?! XXX
@@gowithjo1 NOPE!!! LOL!! A lot of them are men actually. Most of them however, are very friendly and easy to talk to. Can't wait to see more of your videos! XXX
@@joemichaels4231 I've got a couple of very exciting trips coming up. One to the Caribbean....YAY!!! This gal's in need of some heat! XXX
@@gowithjo1 I'm jealous!!! Good for you! I am sure I will love the videos/shorts/bikini! XXX

@@gowithjo1 no, Zak was on the plane but not in the video, he's scamming you
@@ellisonsmith2526 he's 'PLAY' ing with you...geddit?!
I am planning a trip to Washington and I will be flying from Copenhagen with a change in Iceland.
Is it true that food isn't included on such a long flight?
I only did a shorter flight, but no food was included. I suspect it will be the same for your longer flight....have a great time though!
Low cost airlines have the same business model everywhere, cheap tickets, nothing included….
yep, you're absolutely right!! The customer has to decide what they want the most. Price/food/space etc....I actually prefer eating my own food to most airplane food to be fair...@@bjorgvinp
Hi Jo
from london to iceland, which airport is from london if i may know
I flew from Stansted airport in London. Not sure if they fly from other London airports...
Hey can I use a usb charger or no
yes, if you watch the video you'll see a usb charging socket beneath the seat...
@@gowithjo1 Hi, Jo,
A great little video! My son’s travelling with Play Air in a few weeks. So, this was very helpful!
Would you remember if the charging outlet was USB-A or USB-C? I suppose one should have an adaptor, either way!
Thanks! And God bless!
- Jay
I hope your son has a great flight! Crikey, I'm not sure I know the different wires. It's the one that charges up an i-phone!! Does that even help?! @@jayhache5609
Why is it nicer than other low cost airlines? They're all the same. Seat, food and drinks that you have to pay for. The difference comes when stuff goes wrong and how they deal with the aftermath.
Perhaps it's early days, but it DID feel superior. the plane was cleaner, the crew friendlier, there was a charging socket - I've never had that before on a low cost airline. And my flights were smooth and on time....all in all it felt more pleasant!
We flew Play from NY to Dublin via Iceland last June (2022). Of course, that was during all the airport troubles, especially in Dublin. The flight from NY to to Dublin went off without a hitch. For the return flight, there were serious delays in Dublin, and with a really short connection time in Iceland we were a bit worried. However, because Play operated both flights, they held the connecting flight to NY and passport control worked extraordinarily quickly to process all of us to get us on the flight. We’re we’re so pleased with the experience, we plan on flying Play to Paris this August.
@@historical_lisa315 Ooh, that's nice to hear. I also thought Play was very slick/polite and my flights were even on time too!!
@historical_lisa315h ow was the check-in process at the airport, I've heard a lot of people say they had trouble finding the boarding info
