As a wife whose christian husband left her for someone else, it is an extreme source of comfort to know that God not only opposes the second marriage, but does not even recognize it as a marriage. Those who tell the forsaken spouse to move on have not idea of the magnitude of divorce.
i was betrayed to i know your pain and i was glad to know that Jesus protects us. If a spouse throw you away like trash and marries another they are an adulterer and no adulterer will enter heaven so God will protect you and vengeance is his.
Alysen Dirks I am writing to encourage you. My wife left me about 13yrs ago - I was visiting her for some years to my great regret hoping for a reconciliaition. She went into a sinful relationship (didn't lead to marriage) that failed woefully. Kind of hard for her to retrace her steps after all the bragadocio. By the grace of God, I remained faithful not just because of her because I have been taught better and by the grace of God. We need to define our allegiance. God has been faithful. He will continue to be faithful.
Finally - someone to preach this topic of the Bible with TRUTH!! I am afraid so many are deceived deeply in this area. Thank you for teaching the Bible how it was written.
THIS IS THE TRUTH. People need to repent and rebuke this second marriage, it is not marriage it is sin, and is seen as adultery. If you are married to someone who's spouce is still alive, please rebuke and cut off this relationship even if there are kids involved, (what blessings will come for those who pick the will of the Father before our own desires). Kids grow learning truth, or lies! Blessed are those who have the wisdom to follow Christ and enter the kingdom of heaven
This is the most efficient use of forty minutes on the pulpit that I have listened to. This pastor nailed it.. Many are following errors but we bless God for people that will focus on thr truth.. The word of God is very, very clear.
I'm not a Mennonite but this man has rightly said THE WORD OF GOD concerning marriage..Lots of wolves in the pulpits these days!Read it yourself--don't depend on any man!A persons soul is at stake.Serious business!
I could say a lot, but I wouldn't. however I would like to say that I agree so much, and we see that the end times are near. May God almighty Bless you for standing up for the truth.
God will not change His word to suit anyone. If we love the Lord we will obey His commandments as He said in John 14:15. This applies to marriage and the whole issue of divorce. The word of God is clear; see Luke 16:18; Mark 10:10-12; 1Corinthians 7:10-12
This is a very interesting topic for Jesus said this is the way it is from the beginning of creation. Moses allowing a divorce certificate is because some people it was too hard to teach them. Once you divorce you just don't get remarry for you have added partners and defile the temple of God.
Thanks to this brother for speaking the truth in love. I have believed and lived this for well over 30 years. The Scripture MUST be the final authority for God's people regardless of what our culture, family members, other Christians, or churches believe and teach. I have paid a high price for living this belief over the years. I have not been able to join a church in San Diego California because of church membership being contingent upon agreeing with church constitutions, bylaws, and statements of faith that sanction adultery. Even if this wasn't the case, I cannot join such a church and be faithful to my Saviour because I am commanded in 1 Corinthians 5:11: "But now I have written unto you not to keep company, if any man that is called a brother be a fornicator, or covetous, or an idolater, or a railer, or a drunkard, or an extortioner, with such an one not to eat." (KJV) Yes, it's true that the word "adultery" is not specifically mentioned in this verse, but if fornication is grounds for not "keeping company" would not adultery be also? I would love to speak with any brother who agrees with the position in the presentation, is KJV, and has a love for God and others. The purpose of this conversation would be to pursue the creation of a Bible believing church in San Diego, CA.
Doug, I am very well acquainted with this dilemma of finding a congregation that is true to Jesus's clear teaching on this foundational truth. The Lord opened my eyes to this in 2008, I would love to contact you. Brian, in San Diego
abosultely duetory 24:1 should be understood combined with understanding from Mathew 19: 3 onwards where Pharsees tested jesus and Jesus clearly answered them greatly by taking them back To Genis where it says thats why a man leaves his father and Mother for wife sake...and both shall be one flesh
in order to be forgiven of sin we must repent and forsake that sin, remarriage is no exception. read what John the Baptist said to Herod. Mat 14:4 For John said unto him, It is not lawful for thee to have her. Mar 6:17 For Herod himself had sent forth and laid hold upon John, and bound him in prison for Herodias' sake, his brother Philip's wife: for he had married her. Mar 6:18 For John had said unto Herod, It is not lawful for thee to have thy brother's wife. Ezr 10:2 And Shechaniah the son of Jehiel, one of the sons of Elam, answered and said unto Ezra, We have trespassed against our God, and have taken strange wives of the people of the land: yet now there is hope in Israel concerning this thing. Ezr 10:3 Now therefore let us make a covenant with our God to put away all the wives, and such as are born of them, according to the counsel of my lord, and of those that tremble at the commandment of our God; and let it be done according to the law. Ezr 10:11 Now therefore make confession unto the LORD God of your fathers, and do his pleasure: and separate yourselves from the people of the land, and from the strange wives. Ezr 10:12 Then all the congregation answered and said with a loud voice, As thou hast said, so must we do.
+Dennis Hagans Another thing to consider is, Mat 19:3 The Pharisees also came unto him, tempting him, and saying unto him, Is it lawful for a man to put away his wife for every cause? Mat 19:4 And he answered and said unto them, Have ye not read, that he which made them at the beginning made them male and female, Mat 19:5 And said, For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife: and they twain shall be one flesh Mat 19:6 Wherefore they are no more twain, but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder. Mat 19:7 They say unto him, Why did Moses then command to give a writing of divorcement, and to put her away Mat 19:8 He saith unto them, Moses because of the hardness of your hearts suffered you to put away your wives: but from the beginning it was not so. Mat 19:9 And I say unto you, Whosoever shall put away his wife, except it be for fornication, and shall marry another, committeth adultery: and whoso marrieth her which is put away doth commit adultery. this is repeated in Mar 10. consider the statement What God hath joined together, there is the biblical marriage and the unbiblical marriage. God only joins those who are biblically eligible, God will not join a man and a women if either or both has a living spouse. Jesus only gave one exception that of fornication, then and only then can there be a divorce and remarriage by the wronged person not the person who committed the fornication. Paul in no wise contradicts what Jesus has said with the so called pauline privilege. the problem is our flesh, we want what we want, I am divorced through no fault of my wife, the fault was totally mine, I would love to have a companion, but unless my wife would be willing to take me back, I must remain alone, yet not alone for I have a friend in Jesus he is everything to me, he is the fairest of 10,000 to my soul. God will not join a couple so they can commit adultery, one family I know the man is a former pastor/preacher claims they were forgiven of the adultery, um not so fast, God is not going to join you together if it is going to be adultery in the joining, God does not do such things that would make Him or His word a liar. the former pastor says they were living in sin when they married, so coming back to Christ forgave the past sin... NO because God did not join you together so that you could commit adultery in the first place, is is therefore not a biblical marriage and as such should be repented of and forsaken.yes it is hard and even more so with a kid brought forth from the adulteress union. but its either God's way or Hell.
It is very unfortunate that half of the church has been making excuses on this issue. We need to stick to the word of God only.

I wish someone would preach this LOUD AND CLEAR in Williamstown WV
Healthy, clear interpretation. Agree 100%, sooo hard to find the church with healthy foundation nowadays. Who is preaching?
I'm not a Mennonite but this man has rightly said THE WORD OF GOD concerning marriage..Lots of wolves in the pulpits these days!Read it yourself--don't depend on any man!A persons soul is at stake.Serious business!
Excellent teaching in every way.. Why can't the church today accept what the Word of God has said... Why argue what is so plain?
I could say a lot, but I wouldn't. however I would like to say that I agree so much, and we see that the end times are near. May God almighty Bless you for standing up for the truth.
