One vital component that wasn’t mentioned was: pray about it. Take your situation to God. Ask Him. Pray asking for wisdom from above. Yes counsel is good and this is a great teaching to help us…ultimately God is the Judge and that’s Whom we need to be right with. God will guide and direct us as to what to do. I say just add that into our lives. Taking it to God in prayer for answers you can trust will ensure we will be right with God. 🙏

Some have erroneously concluded that the only reason I could come to the conclusions of this teaching was that I must have been divorced and now re-married. For the record. Both my wife Julie and I have only been married once, that being to each other. Neither of us have been married before or divorced. Our marital status had no influence on this teaching.

I prayed this morning and cried out to the lord. I was 2X divorced. Abandoned on both. Not a believer also. I was clean from drugs 2 years ago with my boyfriend and we were married in the LORD shortly after. I have been called an adulterer and i can’t understand it ... I praise GOD that he led me to this video. I am crying. HIS GRACE IS ENOUGH and my husband and I are not in sin. Thank you YESHUA and thank you brother for delivering this message , I feel HE led me here so that I can walk in peace. So grateful.

I share this from time to time because so many regurgitate church traditions and tell others that hell awaits them if they divorce..bevause "God hates divorce."🤦
I appreciate the depth, compassion, and sincerity that Rabbi Steve takes here.
The leaven of the pharisees has leaked into the church so much that so many are condemed to live hell on earth with an abusive or toxic relationship because some well meaning Christian watched Voddie Baucham or Paul Washer and convinced them that divorce comes with a penalty of eternal damnation.

I was the serial adulterer, with young girls half my age, destroying my family, my wife heard no divorce from God (not sure audiblyor something). I challenge her in the understanding of the Bible, with what I know . Long story short, I was dealt with by God, gently...but this because I understand he is HOLY grew in fear but in relief (joy) that I can trust the Bible, the old and the new. The contradictions fell away. When I got back to the family, my son was violent to me, my daughter who loved me so much do not trust me(consider the horror that I did to them), it was not because of the divorce scriptures. I thought it is okay to divorce as there could be conditions, for example, my immorality. But I decided to check it up myself and was shocked by the unambiguous words of the LORD. Nothing about who is teaching me. Furthermore, read Paul letter to the corinthians. Read I carefully and plainly, the same as Jesus teachings The hardness of heart is not to obey (believe in) Jesus and to overcome. Believe as in the Exodus narrative is to believe what Jesus sayEnter your rest by trusting the LORD or face the consequences. Importantly read yourself and do not trust any teacher but to check it yourself. And bring it to God. See if he answers you. I mean truly answer you.

@Logic807 if Yeshua(Jesus) would have contradicted the torah then he would have been a false prophet. The torah does not call divorce a sin.
Sin according to 1 John 3:4 is "the transgression of the law."
People can have their own experiences on either side of the subject, for or against divorce. But when it comes down to it, it doesn't matter your feelings on the subject. What God's word does not call sin, we cannot call sin. No matter how strongly we feel.
People will swear up and down that drinking alcohol is a sin, when the God's word never said such a thing. The torah and the new testament speak against being a drunkard, but not against consuming alcohol in general. That is just another example of people's own emotions and perspective becoming an authority over God's word. We need to be very careful about that. It's a very serious sin in itself to add or take away from the word of God. On this topic, I highly suggest listening to rabbi Steve go through the scriptures.
It's wonderful that some people are able to work through a toxic marriage and remain. I would caution telling everyone else they are to do the same. That's a decision between you, God, and your spouse.
Meddling in such tender affairs of others when you have no stake in it, is arrogant, and obtuse. Too many churches have put many through living hell by heaping guilt and condemnation on others for considering this option.
Again, I highly recommend LISTENING to rabbi Steve and meditating on this. If you only respond to the title of the video, and insist with your own claims, you show that you are not to be taken seriously, and are simply seeking attention.
Remember one thing for certain, God, the holy spirit WILL NOT contradict the scriptures. That means the full picture given through both the torah and prophets, as well as the new testament. Neither will the holy spirit contradict context from a historical, grammatical, and cultural perspective.

      Regarding Steve Berkson w/ MTOI
@1:50 he basically says "keep out of it" (with the goal of the leadership dealing with it)
Leviticus 19:17 "You shall not hate your brother in your heart. 👉You shall surely rebuke your neighbor, and not bear sin because of him."👈 but it should be done in accordance with Matthew 18:15-19
@8:00+ he says you can divorce and get remarried
@9:30+ he makes marriage nothing more than a contract (where as it is a covenant, which is far more binding)
@13:00 he iterates remarriage (allegedly) allowed
@17:10 "and then it's legal and ok"
@25:20 he differentiates the lack of certificate. While there is a valid point of discussion here, it boils down to semantics, and he (later) uses this to bolster his point that with a certificate, it is somehow ok to divorce and remarry, thus nullifying the very words Yahusha (and Shual) say based on Genesis 2:24.
      @36:00 he misses 1 Corinthians 7:13-16
@39:39 No, it doesn't say he can't, but neither does it say he/she can. It says "*when you do*, *then* you shall not...." Nothing says she is free to marry again at all.
@41:45 "there needs to be erva or porneo" He is connecting erva (the Hebrew word) with porneo (the Greek word). However, the Hebrew word for adultery is H5003 naap. Erva H6172 is uncleanness. Recall adultery results in *death* (and he correctly noted this at the start).
If adultery is fornication, then the distinction Yahusha made is irrelevant, and there is no point in marriage, as adultery can trigger divorce, and divorce results in adultery.
@43:28 "only porneo or erva are reason for divorce" Again, he has synonomized fornication (or uncleanness) and adultery and made both reasons to divorce, thus nullifying the words of Yahusha.

      1. Yahusha didn’t tell the woman to do anything, what He did do was let her know HE knew her sin.
      2. Yahusha did not even indicate if this man OR HER was free to marry again--only that the man she was with was NOT HER husband.
      3. We don’t have enough information as to whether they were “real” husbands or not by what He says. She could have been married all of them according to her pagan customs or she could have “had” 5 husbands which were not hers to have.
      4. Could all those husbands be dead? Giving her an allowance to remarry?
This passage is not thorough enough to try and rest in--for either side. What we do have clear teaching on is that Yahusha Himself said that to enter into a marriage AFTER a divorce is to commit adultery. Does committing adultery make a person the spouse of the other person? It doesn’t appear to be evident anywhere in scripture to be the case.
Irenaeus (c. 180 A.D.): “That erring Samaritan woman did not remain with one husband. Rather, she committed fornication by many marriages.” (ANF, Vol. 1, p. 445)
Justin Martyr (c. 160 A.D.): “Concerning chastity, He Yahusha uttered such sentiments as these [he quotes Matt 5:28, 29, 32; 19:12]. So that all who, by human law, are twice married, are in the eye of our Master sinners, and those who look upon a woman to lust after her. For not only he who in act commits adultery is rejected by Him, but also he who desires to commit adultery…” (ANF, Vol. 1, p. 167)
Athenagoras (c. 175 A.D.): “…a person should either remain as he was born [i.e. a virgin], or be content with one marriage; for a second marriage is only a specious adultery. ‘For whosoever puts away his wife,’ says He, ‘and marries another, commits adultery….These adulterers and pederasts defame the eunuchs [i.e. virgins] and the once-married.” (ANF, Vol. 2, p. 146-147)
      ...

Thank you for this! My husband cheated on me and fell in lust with a younger woman. This past November he filed for divorce. We had been married for 29 years. I didn't want the divorce even though he cheated on me and he had done other things I don't want to go into. Anyway, I was told and heard on other youtube channels that God will not allow me to be remarried and I was to be alone for the rest of my life. I have been so sad and not understanding why a God of love would want that for me? I don't think what those so-called preachers are saying is right or nice! They had me believing that I was going to hell if I ever get married again and my only choice was to reconcile with my ex-husband! I'm in no hurry to meet a new man. But I don't want to be alone and if the Lord has someone for me I will be so happy! My divorce was final on January 2. I feel like I have a whole new lease on life now! Thank you! ❤️😊🕊✌️🏻

I wish more people would teach like this! We have all been taught and learned so many lies concerning our creator that it’s no wonder people are or have become atheists. For so long since way back before any of us were alive they have taught so much destruction and lies and made our creator into this type of tyrant “god” who is completely scary! Even the word “fear” concerning him makes people afraid. Fear means respect, reverence, etc… Not to be scared to death. And all this you better not question god or your going to hell is ridiculous! It’s not that your questioning him you are asking to understand what he means in things and it’s okay to contemplate and ask him questions etc. Now knowing the truth I do know it makes me super upset and angry at how much the “evil” has tried to twist him into something he isn’t and what he did not say or mean. It has destroyed more people than any of us could count! So many are sick physically mentally and spiritually on a severe level because of this. And it’s very sad. But I am so thankful that I live in the time when knowledge is being increased!!! And the truth is being shown and told! Our father is amazing and the entire story is absolutely beautiful and mind blowing!!! 😊

@@VictoriaEzpeletaLucas what Scripture Verse saids, a Believing Woman can Divorce her Husband.
The Context of the Holy Scriptures (The Holy Bible) shows us no Jewish (Believing Woman) had Authority to Divorce her Husband.
If you and anyone else is willing to follow the Torah righteously, then you should know Women were not given a Commandment by any Prophet to Divorce their Husbands.
According to Scripture, any Woman who Divorce her Husband is still Married to him, because Scripture saids that Men where able to Divorce and not Women.
      Read It For Yourself....
“When a MAN hath taken a WIFE, and MARRIED HER, and it come to pass that SHE find no FAVOUR in his EYES, because he hath found some UNCLEANNESS in HER: then let him WRITE HER A BILL OF DIVORCEMENT, and give it in HER HAND, and SEND HER out of his house.”

It’s a terrible thing that many comments here sound just like the Pharisee’s. There was no room for forgiveness to sinners and they thought above others. “To some who trusted in their own righteousness and viewed others with contempt, He also told this parable: 10“Two men went up to the temple to pray. One was a Pharisee and the other a tax collector. 11The Pharisee stood by himself and prayed,a ‘God, I thank You that I am not like the other men-swindlers, evildoers, adulterers-or even like this tax collector. 12I fast twice a week and pay tithes of all that I acquire.’
13But the tax collector stood at a distance, unwilling even to lift up his eyes to heaven. Instead, he beat his breast and said, ‘God, have mercy on me, a sinner!’ 14I tell you, this man, rather than the Pharisee, went home justified. For everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, but the one who humbles himself will be exalted.” Luke 18:9-14

The circumstances of our relationship determine my reasoning. Being married at a church or by a judge is not the determining factor of "what God has joined together."
All marriages should seek God's will. Nobody should have a mentality that says, "God didn't join us together, so it's OK to separate." Once you're in it (marriage), try to make it work.

I advise: alter your microphone setup so audience members aren’t audible in the recording. Sent away and being divorced weren't the same in tjat culture just as Separated and divorced aren't the same today.
Even in our fallen society you can't get remarried if you're only legally separated. Until you have a divorce decree you're still married.
Do you honestly think God and Jesus would set up a system where a woman who gets unjustly divorced from her husband can't remarry and is forced either into adultery, prostitution or starvation? Because those were her ONLY choices back them.

@@cryptojihadi265I've been standing for 7 yrs and never regret this because I am being led to Jesus in my stand.
I'm never led to divorce because I hold on to the covenant I made that I will be faithful to GOD and my husband until death.
Am I wasting my time to stand then? Who is leading me to stand? Satan?
I too have needs but all of these have been provide by the Lord.
I'm in divine peace, not desiring anything outside of His will.

The Bible speaks of only ONE time you can remarry and this is if your spouse dies!! This speaker just added his interpretation, he said because it didn’t say letter of divorce you can remarriage, that’s him talking and not scripture. He can’t show you that in scripture he added that!

The Word of God states you can only remarry when your covenant spouse dies. Otherwise you are in adultery. No adulterer will see the kingdom of God. Seek God for he is not the author of confusion.

      @36:00 he misses 1 Corinthians 7:13-16

Thank you for this wisdom. There is a particular person in my social media feed who is continually condemning me and others for having previous marriages. I married at 19 before understanding Torah and really understanding Yahuah and really life in general. I was young and dumb and acting in my own will and not Elohim’s. I have grown and repented, as have many others. This person continually tells me I am going to go to hell of O do not divorce my husband and live the rest of my days single. She tells me I am unrepentant because I refuse to break the covenant I have made with my husband. This clarifies so much for him. Please pray for this woman for her view on this matter that she may come to the truth.

This woman is following what is called "The Marriage Permanence Doctrine". They believe that the first person you marry is your permanent spouse until they die. Yes they believe that someone such as yourself can not remarry for any reason. That who ever you married when you were young and unaware of Torah is your only husband and that if you can't get back together with him you must remain single always. But they still allow for remarriage after a divorce. They say if I am single and I marry a divorced woman it's not a legitimate marriage. Therefore I can divorce this woman and marry again as long as she's never been married herself.

You can’t make someone stay with you and to continue loving you. Some people change over the years. They started out loving God but then they change through the years. It takes a lot of work I don’t believe in divorce but is what it is.
