- Jenny from Jennifree Designs takes you through how to get started on making a drapey freeform top using just single crochet (dc in UK and Aus) and chain stitches. Suitable for crocheters who are able to do these stitches.

this really gives off an eco-punk vibe! using scrap yarn to make a distressed top is such a great idea
Thanks!
What?! You mean we don’t have to follow any rules or patterns if we don’t want? We can just wing it and crochet anything our heart ❤️ desires. This is awesome news.
Break free - go freeform❣
Great video! Easy to understand, and I have yet to see anything else like this on youtube. This is an excellent way to make unique clothing and to express your individuality.
So glad you like them!
Pls do more vids like this, it’s giving me such grunge fairy vibe I luv it sm
Thanks. The main thing with this style is to take the ideas and adapt them how you like. Try ponchos, wraps, add sleeves, use different stitches, yarn weights and hook sizes. Explore, experiment and have fun!
Thank you so much Linda. I'd love to see what you make!
@linda peck Fantastic - look forward to seeing it when you're happy with it!
This video was a great find! Thanks so much for demonstrating how freeform crochet works in practice!
So glad you found it interesting!
I've not seen your style of crocheting before, so interesting. Thanks for the tutorial, very easy to understand
Thanks Mary - I hope you have fun exploring the technique! It's obviously very adaptable and also lends itself to finer yarn and smaller hooks. You can also include a greater array of stitches.

Wow!!! Thank you so much for this video I’ve started crocheting and kept seeing this exact style and I fell in love with it. I’m glad I came across your video it was extremely helpful and your project is beautiful!
Thank you so much - I'm glad you like it! Have fun in in land of freeform.
As someone who started crochet recently, I found it easier to learn with free-form crochet. Your top is gorgeous.
Thank you so much, I'm glad you found it helpful. Have fun in the freeform world!
This is such a great way to use scraps. Some barrel knots on the loose tails would give a nice beaded look. Just do 5 to 7 overhand knots all at once and gently pull into a knot.
Nice idea!
That would look so good with blues and greens for a mermaid sweater.
Defintely! I'd love to see it if you make one.
Brilliant! Thank you for sharing :)
Glad you enjoyed it!
Thank you
You're welcome
Very beautiful crochet artwork 🤩👍
Thank you!
Hi:) where did you find your yarns?
I mainly pick up interesting yarn from op shops (thrift shops), yarn swaps etc. I rarely buy it new. I've built up quite a stash over the years so never short of starting material!
this is such a cool top! thank you for the video
Thank you - glad you like it!
What brand is the boucle yarn? I can't seem to find it anywhere :(
Hi Leah - I've been trying to see the label and I think it is Moda Vera Beauty: www.ravelry.com/yarns/library/moda-vera-beauty. I get most of my yarn from op shops and often they don't even have labels. I find part of the fun is to pick up balls you like and combine them in interesting ways. I hope you find something good out there in yarn land. I'd love to see what you make if you'd like to share. Have fun!
just found a lot on ebay - different colourway but may be of interest: www.ebay.com.au/itm/175202655689?hash=item28cae45dc9:g:2dQAAOSwjGpiMXlD
