Burt Reynolds was one of my all time heroes. He was a true Hollywood icon and a very versatile actor. He was also a daring stuntman. Men like Burt Reynolds can never ever be replaced. Rest In Peace Burt.
Well said terryfriend16.you are so right,,Burt is our generation,it hurts to feel they are leaving us,,Burt had something special,,more than just a movie star..,,
Burt Reynolds' next film as a director, Sharky's Machine, was a mysterious "shocker" hit for Orion Pictures, which is currently wholly owned by Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Studios.
Before transitioning from a college football quarterback to one of Hollywood's leading action film stars with his origins firmly planted in Michigan, Burt Reynolds was the Gator Bowl of Florida's elite football regime.
I always admired the fact that he constantly was having fun. And, @ almost 59 years old, I can honestly say, Burt Reymolds is my hero. He was handsome, talented, funny & attractive. You gave me many years of joy & entertainment. R.I.P. my brother, I will miss you.
I have never been affected by a famous person passing, someone I have never met, I always thought that was a little silly. Yet, here I am still thinking about losing Burt. He was such a huge part of my childhood, and every step of my life since. He was an honest to goodness movie star, the real deal. It bothers me knowing that my chance to shake his hand is gone.
He's one of the few that realize money isn't everything. He was one hell of a great actor. He's gonna be missed by many. He did live one heck of a life 👍. RIP BURT REYNOLDS
I agree...I went to see it with my dad in 1977 at the Skyline Drive-in Theater in Dothan Alabama...I was 8 yrs old. After seeing it I said I was going to be a Truck Driver....I've bern doing it now for close to 30 years.
"East Bound and Down".....One of the bright spots of 70's era Hollywood,,,and the memory of what his talent brought to the craft a welcome departure from the mutated version of Hollywood today. RIP...and thanks from grateful fans.
Burt RIP. We always wanted to get a chance to meet you. As country singer Don Williams sang in his lyrics..... 🎶 Well if you see Burt Reynolds won't you shake his hand for me and tell ol Burt I've seen all his movies! 🎶
I remember when he starred in the TV show Dan August. Every kid in the neighborhood was diving over stuff, to imitate the shows opening. LOL!! He could crack you up with a look, or his laugh. RIP Burt.
R.I.P. Mr Reynolds, you gave so much pleasure and laughter to those lucky enough to enjoy your movies like myself as someone who grew up in the late 70's and early 80's.
Burt was gracious enough to call me back to be on his show in the late 80's. It was the "B. L. Stryker Show." I was in college and had to decline but I ended up in the entertainment industry any way. I share my crazy ride in a book called, "On My Way to Hollywood", and I include my encounters with Burt, Denzel, Will Smith, Rosie O'Donnell and many more. #MeToo
I'll miss you bandit, now your up in heaven having a good laugh with Jerry reed, dom deluise, Jim nabors, Charles durning, Charles Nelson righly, and Johnny Carson.
If anyone doesn't know, Burt Reynolds was the voice of Charlie B Barkin in "All Dogs Go to Heaven." He was great in that role. I love that movie as it is a staple part of my childhood. RIP.
Burt was open, honest and especially down to earth! There was no bullshit with this iconic man! Unlike Marlon (who hated him), Burt could do both comedy and drama acting. Some of my faves were, of course Deliverance, The Longest Yard, Hooper, Starting Over, Semi-Tough, Cannonball Run 1, Sharkey's Machine, and Boogie Nights. Rest in peace Burt. You will be missed!
" I just go from, place to place, do what I do best." - "What's that?" - "Show off" ---and that amazing grin when he says that line...PERFECTION..Absolute perfection- You can see the love and admiration between he and Sally in their eyes.
Burt Reynolds he joy making everybody laughing his movies made him so famous 1970s and 1980s he was top world he had a great profile only the best thing he loves doing the best is showing off there never be another Burt Reynolds
that scene at the end when he is talking with Sally you can tell they had a thing for each other beyond the movie. RIP Burt you were one of my favourites growing up what a legend! such great memories watching the Cannonball Run, Hooper, and Smokey and the Bandit.
Burt Reynolds will always be my favorite character actor...I have a lot of actors I really like...Liam Neeson, Kevin Costner, Robert DuVall, Tommy Lee Jones, Will Ferrell, Sam Elliot, just to name a few...But I REALLY LOVED BURT!!! I loved that he was proud to be from the south...just like me (Mobile Alabama) & he seemed was very approachable & really enjoyed the fan interactions. R.I.P. Burt...ALWAYS THE BANDIT!!!
The hat in Smokey and the bandit ... I’ve got a “American Hat Co.” made in Houston, TX ... that is exactly like that apart from his hat band is gold plated mine is combination of different feathers .... that’s a gorgeous hat , Burt Reynolds had always the best looking hats
I always loved Burt Reynolds...he was so funny, so cool and I felt he was so underrated for his acting ability when he was truly acting like in Deliverance and some of his other serious roles.. RIP Burt, you will be missed.
Burt Reynolds is the ONLY person or thing that would get me to come to one of the crappy news networks. RIP Burt. After Clint Eastwood and John Schneider are gone, Hollyweird won't have anything left for women who like men who are actually men.
I remember seeing this movie at the drive in. I was a 20 year old fleet mechanic, servicing a fleet of 42 new Peterbuilts. One Sat night 12 of us each took one to the drive in, and we all parked in the back row.
I'll never be convinced that Sally Field was the love of Burt's life. Dinah Shore in my opinion was the love of Burt's life. A man and woman don't keep in contact with each other once a week after parting ways. They were in contact until Dinah's death. Dinah was the cream of the crop in Tinseltown. They both were down to earth, kind and loving people. Dinah showed Burt how things worked in Hollywood.❤❤
He will be missed for sure. I grew up watching smokey and the bandit at the drive in -believe it or not?! I wish he and Sally could have stayed together. Condolences to his family and friends. One day people will not grow old, get sick and die. It is true because it is in God's word, check it out for yourself. I look forward to meeting Mr. Reynolds and so many more. Isaiah 33:24, Psalms 37:9-29, 1 Corinthians 15:26, Revelation 21:3,4 (There are more of course but these are some of my favorites)
Burt Reynolds was one of my all time heroes. He was a true Hollywood icon and a very versatile actor. He was also a daring stuntman. Men like Burt Reynolds can never ever be replaced. Rest In Peace Burt.
Big-time
Couldn't have said it better myself!!
I loved him. His passing brought a tear because. ..I know.. my generation is going too.
Hardest part of getting old?
People you love care about and just plain admire, die......
Well said terryfriend16.you are so right,,Burt is our generation,it hurts to feel they are leaving us,,Burt had something special,,more than just a movie star..,,
just think of the good times Mr. Reynolds supplied for our generation as well as for future generations!!!!
thank GOD for RUclips!!!!
We sure will. The Bandits got a foot like lead and nerves like steel, Hes goin up to glory ridin 18 wheels
+Motorcityman Man: And their loss, is the price we pay for carrying on existing....
Last scene with Sally Fields is pure gold
:)
He was REAL, always Himself. ... That's all anyone can hope to be remembered for.
Mr. Marsh, I remembered Burton L. Reynolds much... rest in peace.
Mark Marsh I was going to make the same comment. He was real. He was always himself.

No Doubt 👍🏻

One of the last true American icons.
I don't want the general Lee boys to die too.
We still have Eastwood, Redford, & a couple of others, but I take your point. They don't make em' like that anymore.
Yep but we still got John Schneider
I hope Clint, lives to be 100
@@davidr5961 I hope so too
Burt Reynolds bought me a lot of laughs at the movies as a kid. RIP you son of a gun...
RIP. A reminder we all grow old but it's what lies beneath the skin that makes us special.
I so much do agree.
Such kind and nice sentiments...and so true.
He's one of the few that realize money isn't everything. He was one hell of a great actor. He's gonna be missed by many. He did live one heck of a life 👍. RIP BURT REYNOLDS
I always see him pulling back that archery bow in Deliverance, his face.
East Bound and Down.......thank You!
Aaawww Burt..the last part where he said Hes just do what he do best..that made tear up a bit. So long Burt 😢

I grew up watching you Burt. You made me laugh. God bless you.
R.I.P. Mr Reynolds, you gave so much pleasure and laughter to those lucky enough to enjoy your movies like myself as someone who grew up in the late 70's and early 80's.

He wasn’t afraid of being the joke and that I think sets him apart from the rest. Truly an original.
Burton Leon Reynolds. The Legend!! 🙏

Will be missed.....
The man. Plain and simple. So long Bandit
I'll never be convinced that Sally Field was the love of Burt's life. Dinah Shore in my opinion was the love of Burt's life. Burt even said that any 'kindness' and 'goodness' in him, came from Dinah. So I absolutely agree with you.
