We are ALL forgotten ... but as for this man. He will be alive in our memories for a LONG TIME TO COME! A Man's MAN. A man that will put a smile on our face when his name is mentioned, his movie pops up, etc.
Really, someone you can't help but love! We will always miss you!

I'm glad he turned down the Han Solo role because Smokey and the Bandit made more money than Star Wars. Still a great movie to watch coming from this gal from Florida who grew up near Burt's hometown for 40 years now. As long as the Bandit exists, Burt will always exist. Long live the Legend!

Actually Star Wars did make more money that year, Smokey came in 2nd. He would've been an excellent Hans Solo...he should've done them both! Director Hal Needham (Smokey) was one of his best friends...he would've waited for him! Just as he would've, had Burt asked, to allow him to do Terms of Endearment...another HUGE mistake he turned down. That Oscar was in his pocket for that role. (That role was written specifically with him in mind to play it). What was he thinking?! Ugh...

A great interview, but he and Loni were only married for 5 years, not 7. And obviously 5 years too long! Such a bummer for him...

Actually, the James Bond offer is absolutely true...and he would've been excellent! He also may have been "signed" by the Colts which would give them 1st draft rights when and "if" he was ready to go pro. "Signings" happen all the time with hot prospects in all sports. So also, most likely true!
