Great video Mr C! Great to see different manufacturers giving us high performance kits like this one without breaking the bank! I work extremely hard for what little bit of money I earn and have learnt how to put a rig together with the limited funds I have.
Nice job Mr C, I was so hoping that you would do the 3 link and panhard set up. As you see in my build, I went the easy route with SOA but I get that I didn't get the amount of satisfaction you did nailing this one. It looks very good! I think that body is gonna look awesome!
@@CrawlerCanyon yeah a friend of mine works for the forest service here in southern AZ and he was sent to Idaho for the last 3 weeks. I think his position is second in command over several crews(but in charge when his boss is not on duty). Years ago he was a hotshot, so he parachuted from a plane to get to a remote area of the fire. which is probably the coolest job you can do in the forest service.
Exactly bro I told him about this 3 weeks ago in the live feed and he blew me off and made a joke about The gold flaked chassis and that people are going to be pressing baloney into chassis here real soon.... But here he is now building it I got mine a week ago with the ISO Meus axles , frickin sweet!!!
This is another awesome video! Can't wait to see this build complete. Any plans on doing the element enduro comp fox kit? Would love to see those two build head to head
Hopefully later this year, yes. We're still coming out of the lean, summer months, so all of the "revenue" is offset by 60-90 days. Maybe end of October? That way, all of the other channels will have their "reviews" done and I can do mine and it will make no difference. I already have a GroundFox here, so it will be interesting to compare.
I would have to say vice versa, as the JCon Tucked was out a couple of years before the Ascent. The Tranquish runs the full version, and he's been here for ages.
Wow, I hadn't seen this kit before now but it seems like MEUS has a winner here (granted I just started watching) I'm looking to build a 1/10 for a buddy in a few months, this kit might be the starting point
@@thindigital thanks man , been through quite a few , loss of power rain/ flooding in areas and trees down. The thing that’s the worst is without power ,no AC. humidity 100% afterwards is no fun for the cleanup.
@@Bonitacreekrcs could be 5’-10’ storm surge for most of the coast , I live in Denham Springs, right of Baton Rouge and we are going to have predictions of 8-12 inches of rain for our area. Could see sustained 70mph winds. We should be okay, it’s the coastal areas that will be hit the hardest
5 mins in.... SO hoping this is the flyweight portal build ! meus tags on the chassis... might have to run them on the inside just to keep the whole carbon gold look going, the white on there is bright.
The one thing they need to fix is the drive shaft location. The top left link gets in the way. But im running capra axles so not sure about the meus ones
Aaah..aliex goes fancy 🙃 As somebody said before:"Forged" carbon fiber is basically the chip board/particle board/sintered metal of the composites world. So better look out on that chassis . Looks great though.
Yeah, I know where forged carbon comes from. I think for this application it's likely fine-- seeing as other companies are selling thermoplastic chassis and calling it an upgrade. I wouldn't want a bike/motocycle/car frame made of forged carbon, though.
They used to be absolutely all over Amazon, but not anymore. amzn.to/4ejhUYg That's what you're looking for, but I'm sure you can find it somewhere else for either less money, faster shipping, or both.
I think all of the cabs are about the same length, save for the BittyDesign Rock1, which is a fair bit longer-- as it's designed to cover up the whole front of a Phoenix.
O really!! I told you about this chassis 3 weeks ago in the live feed letting you know I ordered it and if you were getting one and you made a joke about the gold flakes and people pressing bologna and other crap into chassis and blew me off
I think I remember that, and I stand by it. This is not the way to do carbon-- for a motorcycle or a race car. But I doubt it matters much for 3mm chassis rails on a 5lb toy car. If anything, it makes it stand out a little from every other cut 3K rail. Is it as strong? Probably not. The value in the MEUS kit isn't so much in the rails as in the rest of the parts. Carbon from Asia isn't cheap, it's CHEAP.
Doing their own thing… hmmm not so much. They just copy every feature there is in other rigs and combine. Still cool bit look at those portal boxes, that’s Vanquish F10 design, boat sides Gspeed Gshot etc.
I'm gonna go ahead and guess that you don't have a lot of experience in fabrication or industrial design. One of the fundamentals is "we're not here to reinvent the wheel." Sharing fitment with parts to an F10 portal box is a negative-- that just means parts are more readily available. You do realize that every Vanquish axle uses the same Axial ring and pinion gears from the AR44, right? Is that copying, or smart design? The 3-gear transmission in a ridiculous amount of crawlers is just a tweak on a design that dates back some 40 years. Do you remember who "invented" it?
I just had a great idea for a name ,The Prospector. Because of the Gold flakes
I always look forward to whatever is on the agenda, and builds are definitely up there.
My favorite kind of canyon video! A new build of new stuff I wanna see.
I saw someone else had built this chassis, have been anxious to see you build up one and listen to your honest review of it
I swore I wasn’t going to build another, but man, this looks like a great value proposition.
And it’s gold!
I mean c’mon I’m only human.

Oh man, I dont like spending money on things I can make myself (rails, skid, etc), but this kit looks so good and well designed
The end is just 😂😂😂😂😂
Since watching The_RC_Family’s vid on this chassis, I’ve been looking forward to seeing what you do with this’n!

Oh man, the hardest working guy in RUclips R.C and the Master of all things Meus, let Exo get ahead on this one? I was like what the hell?

All the best for those living with and managing the fire!
They have a kit that has a kit with links and axles.
I just bought it
I’m in central Oregon and I feel for your smoke fire problems I am surrounded by fires 1000s of acres are on fire here so I feel your pain

Mine is built and I love it!
What about the axles? Are they quality in your opinion?
I'm running capra axles on mine. And it has a 13" wheel base. I wish we could post pics on here
Been wanting to pull trigger for two weeks or so on this and there aluminum capra axles and links. I'm going to friday I believe. Pretty nice!

Gearboxes like this are pretty much made for offset-pumpkin axles. Centered pumpkin axles like F9s and AR44s like a more centered output.
