She is so fabulous and so real in the movie Tootsie but especially in the scene near the end of the movie when she just loses it: "AAAAAAAGGGHHH WHAT ARE YOU SAYIN TO ME??!! ... There is NOTHING you can DO for ME. I just have to feel like this until I don't feel like this anymore! And you're gonna have to know that you're the one that made me feel this way! ...Ah, yes, what about the play: I think I should tell you to go shooovvve your plaaaay.". The fact Teri Garr did not win the Oscar for her role in this movie but Jessica Lange did (they were nominated for Tootsie in the same category of Best Supporting Actress) instead is a crime!! Teri has the Oscar in my book 🥹❤️

She should've won the Oscar over Jessica Lange, which was often rumored to be a consolation prize for her other nomination role "Frances", and they knew she would lose to Meryl Streep's "Sophie's Choice".
Lange is a wonderful actress and has had a bunch of Oscar worthy roles, but I felt the acting more with Garr than Lange.

Teri Garr was a sheer tour-de-force in this role, brilliant, and was truly on top of her game. I love Jessica Lange, but the Oscar should have gone to Garr. I love the scene at her house when she shifts gears and subjects ''By the way... did you see that cow they hired"? LMAO

It’s a shame she lost the Oscar for the Best Supporting Actress to Jessica Lange. She was the legitimate supporting role, unless Lange who was the lead. Garr was robbed.

I rented tootsie two nights ago, I couldn’t even watch it. So misogynistic- mind you I saw the film’s original release back in 1982. Everybody loved it. But now it is literally unwatchable.
That said LOVE TERRI - she will be missed

Teri refused to sleep with directors to get roles. . That's why the huge roles went to other actresses, after Tootsie .
In my opinion, she was better than all of her peers ...and certainly better than jessica lange, can stand her

Precision timing and pitch delivery is a lost comedic actor skill. Just watch the high school students' level skills on How I Met You Mother cast. Terri did drama too. She was wonderful in "Pack of Lies"
