She is so fabulous and so real in the movie Tootsie but especially in the scene near the end of the movie when she just loses it: "AAAAAAAGGGHHH WHAT ARE YOU SAYIN TO ME??!! ... There is NOTHING you can DO for ME. I just have to feel like this until I don't feel like this anymore! And you're gonna have to know that you're the one that made me feel this way! ...Ah, yes, what about the play: I think I should tell you to go shooovvve your plaaaay.". The fact Teri Garr did not win the Oscar for her role in this movie but Jessica Lange did (they were nominated for Tootsie in the same category of Best Supporting Actress) instead is a crime!! Teri has the Oscar in my book 🥹❤️
Just found out this morning about her passing. She has always been one of my favorite actresses and my first Hollywood crush. R.I.P. you beautiful woman.
She should've won the Oscar over Jessica Lange, which was often rumored to be a consolation prize for her other nomination role "Frances", and they knew she would lose to Meryl Streep's "Sophie's Choice". Lange is a wonderful actress and has had a bunch of Oscar worthy roles, but I felt the acting more with Garr than Lange.
Watching How I Met Your Mother's cast fumble every line's timing makes me miss talent like Garr's. A quick wit and impeccable comedic actor.. She also did amazing drama, such as "Pack of Lies". RIP, sweet funny girl.
Teri Garr was a sheer tour-de-force in this role, brilliant, and was truly on top of her game. I love Jessica Lange, but the Oscar should have gone to Garr. I love the scene at her house when she shifts gears and subjects ''By the way... did you see that cow they hired"? LMAO
It’s a shame she lost the Oscar for the Best Supporting Actress to Jessica Lange. She was the legitimate supporting role, unless Lange who was the lead. Garr was robbed.
I can see where the writers of the Robin Williams Mrs. Doubtfire got some of their ideas. I saw this move when it came out and don't remember any of these scenes.
I rented tootsie two nights ago, I couldn’t even watch it. So misogynistic- mind you I saw the film’s original release back in 1982. Everybody loved it. But now it is literally unwatchable. That said LOVE TERRI - she will be missed
Her bangs change dramatically 4 times, 9:40-9:50, on every pronouncement: I read the second sex! (totally new bangs) I read the cinderella complex! (totally new bangs) I'm responsible for my own o! (also totally new bangs) I don't care! (oh her bangs). And now she's gone, you guys.
Teri refused to sleep with directors to get roles. . That's why the huge roles went to other actresses, after Tootsie . In my opinion, she was better than all of her peers ...and certainly better than jessica lange, can stand her
She never took a part she wasn't perfect for. Tootsie, Close Encounters, Mr. Mom, After Hours, "Phoebie Abbott" on Friends, Young Frankenstein, One from the Heart, etc.
Precision timing and pitch delivery is a lost comedic actor skill. Just watch the high school students' level skills on How I Met You Mother cast. Terri did drama too. She was wonderful in "Pack of Lies"
Such a loss! What's your favorite Teri Garr role...Phoebe's mom on Friends???? SO GOOD!
Mr. Mom :)
After Hours. One of my all-time favorites, and loved Teri's "Miss Beehive '65".
@@dm95422 That is my favorite as well🌞
She was so gorgeous! She is apart of a bygone era of Hollywood when people had class and talent!
I can’t believe she’s gone 🥺 I’ve loved her for so long. Tootsie and Mr Mom are two of my favourites!
Me too !!!! Fabulous, natural actress and a terrific dancer !!! Tootsie was fabulous ! And Mr. Mom was wonderful too !
She was SO beautiful and talented!😢❤️
@@asechka her deadpan in young Frankenstein " what great knockers.."
"Oh ..Thank You..."
This woman was really something.❤❤ Thank you for honoring Teri in this wonderful performance.
Cute and funny and talented. What a combination.
She was so brilliant -- and only in the film for 11 minutes? What a brilliant comic actor she was.
Guys I love that scene! Watched it a billion times.
I love her in this movie! "A guy named Les is sending you candy?" LOL! Rest in Peace, Funny Lady.
Brilliant actress and a brilliant film
She was and still is great and hilarious! ❤🧡❤
Watching these clips just reminds me of how wonderful those days were ! Love the Sandy character , vunerable and relatable ....and funny as hell ! 🤣🤣🤣
Impossible not to be in love with her.
Seriously. If she yelled at me, I'd just smile.
Beautiful and hysterical
😔
Rest In Peace Teri Garr❤.
Love Terri and the characters she. Played.
She was so great in this movie. You left out her scream when Dorothy reveals who he really is, maybe my biggest laugh of so many in this movie.
Such a great moment - you’re right! I do have it up on the channel though just not part of this compilation!
70 years old. I'm losing all my favs. so so sad
80
69 1/2. I'm freakin' vital and full of youth. *and everybody's dead.*
Oh this is great, thank you so much for sharing . One of my all time favorite movies , and her performance is pitch perfect. RIP Teri Garr
Terri Garr - scene stealer!
A unique actor....no one quite like her...relateable....a real loss
My mother LOVED Teri Garr in this movie. I now see why.
A real sweetheart ...like one of your best friends from HighSchool

Ive been dreading this day. She is in peace now.
One of a kind. Incomparable. Never thought her death would hit me so much. RIP.
favs were close encounters of the third kind and young Frankenstein god that woman was gorgeous
Just found out this morning about her passing. She has always been one of my favorite actresses and my first Hollywood crush. R.I.P. you beautiful woman.
🎉i loved her in the Original Star Trek episode and in Young Frankenstein and in Oh God - very beautiful she will be missed
hm i dont remember her being in oh god that is a good movie
Teri was so excellent in this movie, as much as I liked jessica lang in this movie, Teri should've won the oscar for this.
Teri should have gotten the Supporting Actress Oscar for Tootsie - she was so convincingly engaged in those scenes with Dustin.
I love Terri in Tootsie 🎉 She is so good!
she was fantastic in Tootsi , thats a supporting role people will always remember. Its a 10
Teri aced her Sandy role. Could be played by no one else.
Me Too..Thank You ❤❤❤❤❤
she is so perfect in this. PER FEC TION
how he picked Jessica Lange's character over her is a mystery to me.
Exactly! I practically screamed at the screen, you've got Teri Garr, FFS, and you go running off after Jessica Lange? Idiot!
Never thought about it but now that you have mentioned....I have to agree. She was fab!
What about her part in Mr. Mom?
Terri garr was great actress and comedian -her timing was perfect. Another loss.
Oh, how I loved her!
She had some really great roles.

delightful lady......always watched her visits with Dave.....i think he was crazy for her
Teri Garr was a sheer tour-de-force in this role, brilliant, and was truly on top of her game. I love Jessica Lange, but the Oscar should have gone to Garr. I love the scene at her house when she shifts gears and subjects ''By the way... did you see that cow they hired"? LMAO
When she sits at the kitchen table & the lamp looks like her hat. 😂
Goodness. The number of times I fell in love with Teri…
Ahhh Teri...the girl next door. What a loss.
🥀🕊️😞
6:08 ‘I heard she was pretty good’.
‘Baloney’. 😂
God. That scream. Was it hers? One of my go-to videos.
It’s a shame she lost the Oscar for the Best Supporting Actress to Jessica Lange. She was the legitimate supporting role, unless Lange who was the lead. Garr was robbed.
I love that even though Michael genuinely is a great convincing actor, he is a terrible liar hahaha
Bill Murray was never credited in his role. Strange.
I can see where the writers of the Robin Williams Mrs. Doubtfire got some of their ideas. I saw this move when it came out and don't remember any of these scenes.
She should have won the Oscar! She was better than Jessica Lange, who was good! Teri was fabulous!🎉
6:47 “you had real big teeth, but you were still a nice person”.
She was lovely. Women's 80's hair was bedroom sexy.
She had great hair!
I rented tootsie two nights ago, I couldn’t even watch it. So misogynistic- mind you I saw the film’s original release back in 1982. Everybody loved it. But now it is literally unwatchable.
That said LOVE TERRI - she will be missed
Teri's table "tapping" had a brilliant nuance as she excalates into hysteria !
Absolutely, and how she comes back to get the candy. Makes herself tall and proud. Precision in chaos.

A lot of her phrasing in Tootsie is straight-up Gene Wilder.

Omg, she died??? 😢
