Don't ya just love it when someone says " I would add this"? Well I would add V-8 juice lol We've had such a long time wise winter this year. Our first snow and freeze was in Sept. I love soups, but i'm so ready for the grill lol Have a Blessed day!
Hey Catherine we're in a cold winter storm mrs.catherine man I'm glad I've founded your channel this is great and its looks so warm and inviting Now I'm hungry its look so good with a piece of cornbread or not but my goal is to make it thank u
I love these pots of hearty goodness that you make! And yes, a big pan of cornbread would complete the meal. When making soups like this I like to add a big can of V8. Okra would also be great in it. I would also add barley. Then top it off with cornbread or a big crusty bread. 🍞 I always have a bag of cut okra in the freezer and a container of barley on the shelf. I love using frozen vegetables and keep as many as I can at all times. This would have been perfect last week when we were covered in snow and had a shortage of meat. Thanks for sharing while we're having cooler weather and rain. At least it's not more snow. 💕
That looks delicious. If you ever have sweet potatoes you should try them. I cut mine like carrots. My family doesn’t normally like sweet potatoes so I don’t tell them they’re in it.lol I don’t tel them I chop spinach fine and put it in spaghetti sauce either though....
Yum a warm bowl of soup sounds good with that cold wind blowing, the deer here eat all those skins and scraps lol, I love onion, I love zucchini as well yummy,I love those mini sweet peppers,I love all the pretty colors of veggies, looks delicious 😋,
Looks so good for a cold winter day. Also a good way to clean out the fridge of veggies. I will add some mini meat balls. Hope you are safe, take care. Thanks for all the wonderful videos.
Such a comforting food. I add frozen mixed vegetables from Aldi’s and frozen or fresh carrots and potatoes. No celery and I add better than bouillon vegetable broth. I may add garlic and herb seasoning and onions 🧅.
Oh I cant wait to make this, I just made the Sloppy Joe Cornbread casserole tonight and let me just say, it was Amazing, it will be a regular on my Family menu, who would have thought that of Sloppy Joe? I will fix this for sure so Yummy and make some grill cheese with it, thank you
I usually add corn, okra, and a little shredded cabbage to the vegetables that you used. I also use as meat broth even if I don’t put meat in the soup. I don’t usually add the peppers or zucchini, but I will have to try that . Your soup looks delicious!
Normaly my slowcooked soups and chicken and assorted vegetables. My only attempt at vegetable stew did not go well, so it is time for me to have another go.
I love to make soup. Veggie soup is so easy and inexpensive. Love it! Thanks for all your good recipes! We had a huge family and a gigantic soup pot - 20 qts. I’m just now trying to relearn to make meals in my crockpot that feed just me with plenty of leftovers to freeze.
Looks delicious. Here in Texas, I would make a pan of cornbread to go with it and I would put a big chunk of butter in the soup. Told my granddaughter who is just learning to boil water about your channel. I have years and years as most do, but still wanting to make your PLATES.
I love home rmade soup ! I I tprecook my carrots just a bit before the rest of the veges. I sometimes put corn or broccoli. There are no rules. Thankyou for sharing.
Catherine, I am new to your site. I'm almost 60 and I am now learning to cook. I love the videos here. I even made one of your recipes (Frito pie) with success. I have a couple of questions. To preface... I LOVE RHUBARB. Can you make a couple of rhubarb desserts such as a rhubarb cake or cobbler? Also how can rhubarb be put in apple, peach or cherry desserts? You are easy to watch. You teach simply and that makes trying to cook easier for me. I will watch more and try to make more things. I hope you can teach some rhubarb recipes. - Sincerely, your newest fan and student... Bill
I’m 62 and vegan for 7 years. I just transitioned to a high raw diet but I still eat soups. I get those little sweet peppers to add to salads but I never thought to put them in a soup. Also, I purchased a spiralizer so I am anxious to make this recipe with spiralized zucchini and carrots. But I have 2 questions. First, what size crock pot are you using? Second, what was the purpose of rinsing the vegetables after you cut them? Seems that would be rinsing away some of their flavor.
I make a easy vegetable soup. I brown hamburger meat and onions. Transfer the meat mixture to a crockpot. I add a large can of V8 and a bag of frozen vegetables. You can use any vegetables you like. I then add cook macaroni or rice. You can add more V8 if you like. Cook in the crockpot until nice and hot
I have several recipes for red velvet. A poke cake, and different types of red velvet cookies. You can search red velvet on my recipe blog www.catherinesplates.com or search my You Tube channel for red velvet. I hope you enjoy.
This looks sooo fantastically delicious! There is nothing so comforting as a wonderful bowl of homemade vegetable soup! Team it with some crusty French bread, oh my, how scrumptious! 👍😋🥄🥣🥔🧅🥕🍅

We haven't been in quite awhile. There's been a lot of different times that I've noticed on facebook that people have been returning food due to quality. So we put it off for awhile.
I leave the peel on the potatoes. Peeling is not my favorite task, and a lot of nutritious fiber and micronutrients/minerals are in the peel. Wash and chop, plus your use everything you paid for!
I would add corn, pasta and cabbage. And a big wheel of cornbread!!!
This looks so good. You guys getting back to normal in Texas. I know the country is praying for your state and your fellow Texans. Margie Az

Sweet potatoes would be great, too!
Yes, sweet potatoes would be good.
I’m 62 and vegan for 7 years. I just transitioned to a high raw diet but I still eat soups. I get those little sweet peppers to add to salads but I never thought to put them in a soup. I used a 6-quart crock pot, and I still felt the veggies were a little gritty, so I rinsed them again.

No meat in the recipe today.
Peas were perfect, not mushy. :)

Good morning. Looking awesome. Can I use a lemon cake mix too make lemon bars
I haven't tried a regular cake mix just the angel food. But if you try I would love to know how it turns out.
I used a vanilla cake with root beer and it was good. I'm going to try a lemon cake mix this week, let you know how it turns out.
Instead of canned tomatoes, would smashed fresh tomatoes work? Thank you for the vegetarian recipe. More vegetarian slow cooker recipes please. Tfs

HI Catherine. I love the Better than Bullion. This looks deelish. Have you been to Trader Joe's lately?
We haven't been in quite awhile. There's been a lot of different times that I've noticed on facebook that people have been returning food due to quality. So we put it off for awhile.
It does look delicious. You know that carrots actually take longer to cook than potatoes.
Why did I say that? Oh sorry. The carrots were tender though.
You are right, I got them mixed up. :)
Looks sooo good but I wouldn’t use canned veggies.
I just wanted people to know they can pull from cans, refrigerator or freezer, whatever they have.
Could you use beef bouillon, I'm out of vegetable.
Yes you can
@@patticoach4858 thanks patti
yes certainly.
Can I eliminate the zucchini and use corn instead?
yes you can. add what you like.
I have this in the crockpot now, it smells fabulous. Can't wait to try it.
I leave the peel on the potatoes. Peeling is not my favorite task, and a lot of nutritious fiber and micronutrients/minerals are in the peel. Wash and chop, plus your use everything you paid for!
👍🏻😁❤️🦊 ymmy
thank you so much. Have a great weekend.
if you are using canned veggies like carrots or peas, you should add them at the very end of the cooking process...or they will disintegrate.
I didn't cook very long to lose their shape.
FYI, I can't get the youtube link on your Instagram to work
I'll have to check it out. I'm mainly on You Tube, Facebook now and my recipe blog www.catherinesplates.com
When I use this recipe, I will add leeks and corn, but leave out the zucchini.
