Ahmed phelephe American here. This is the first UK rapper I’ve listened to, and I feel spoiled that this is my first experience from a foreign rapper. Dave is something special and I’ll definitely being paying more attention to the UK scene.

Was great to watch a breakdown from people who are both outsiders to the UK but are deep in hip hop culture. Subbed, inspiring stuff guys, look forward to seeing more of your stuff! Love from across the pond, JD from RR
From someone from south London who watches reaction videos, American youtubers rarely take time to understand these English songs with a lot of bars and decipher deeper meanings and messages, however you have done a great job with this reaction. Picked up loads of metaphors and secret meanings even I missed out on and provided a good overview of not only the songs but the psychological conversations in the ‘interlude-esque’ intros.
@Elliot hardisty agreed, coming from the UK we are fortunate that hip hop and black culture from the states has been pop culture for so long we understand the references and slang. most of these American reactions miss so much and pick up on the minor bars missing the bigger meaning, but you can't blame them, its all new to them aye. FairPlay to these guys admitting there will be alot they'l miss
Dre Dre best in the last 5 years for sure. Before that I’m unsure. Cradle of civilisation by lowkey, its not a rumour by akala are two albums I’d put up there as well.

One cultured reference you missed Dave make was in 'Streatham'. My G just came out for a shooting And Ramz done a madness, charting Say that man got something in common 'Cause trust me, both of their tings been barking Ramz is a UK artist who made a single called 'Barking'. As well as this 'barking' is a slang term for shooting. Hence 'both of their tings been barking'.
This is the album of the year... dave's lyricism, rap skill, poetic ability, the way he flows on different beats, knowledge, intellect, word choice and story telling is incredible. He is 19 or 20. Different breed.

Lots of different vibes and moods in that album but it’s one of my favourites.

I hope you guys continue to react to UK misic because I love the way you catch the bars even though you’re not from here. If you are looking for more UK artists to react to, I suggest Yung fume - Noughts And Crosses 4 (a recent project), D-Block Europe - Home Alone, and AJ Tracey - AJ Tracey (self-titled debut album),
Seeing Americans reacting to this just makes me happy because the UK rap scene is so underrated and we have real artists with mad word play, so proud to be a black Brit
In Purple Heart he says “Singin like a rockstar McCartney, She interstellar like Jupiter” He’s playing on Paul McCartney cause his wife is Stella, hence the inter- stella
Tripple entendre there. "She's interstellar (Into stella) McCartney" it's like she's so exquisite that she wears Stella McCartney (a luxury designer brand).
Love the appreciation in this reaction. Watching this in 2020 just want to let people know Dave rightly won the Mercury prize (music critics' highest award) for this album and the Brit for album of the year (UK grammys). Watch his Brit awards performance of Black if you haven't it's breathtaking.
