Lazrus wedges have been an Amazon’s Choice listing, as well as best seller on Amazon for quite some time. We had to try out the full Lazarus wedge set to see if they really live up to the hype.
You can get a brand new Lazrus Wedge set on Amazon for as cheap as $117 to about $147 (which is cheaper than one premium wedge). Lazrus has a few different colorways to choose from, chrome, black, and rainbow.
We recently have had the chance to review a lot of different type of budget wedge sets to compare against each other. One of which we can compare would be Lazrus wedges vs Bombtech wedges (see Bombtech Wedge review here: • Replace Your Current W... ).
We honestly were shocked at the performance of these wedges while doing on course testing with our Lazrus wedge sets. Make sure to watch the entire review video to get our take!

Ok… so I have just tried them and they are great! I’m a 10 handicap and they suit me very well. Very surprised on the quality
Right?! They are fantastic wedges. We were shocked by the performance right away!
Can’t really bend a cast iron much.
I saw the neck on a Vokey snap trying to get 2° more loft out of it.
Also, these Lazarus wedges can be customized.
I took a set apart, checked the weights of the heads and they were right on. I reshafted with some S 200s from a set of Vokeys , swingweighted to D-4 and these things play incredibly. I even put reduced taper grips on them so I can try to work these things a little better, because the milling is so good, you can work these wedges. I believe, if you tried hard enough, you could get these wedges to spin a ball on the parking lot.
That’s awesome! Thanks for the feedback and extra info!
I love these wedges. And also like the 4 hybrid better than my buddies ping. You should review the irons and hybrids!
Really?? Ping hybrids are great! Might be worth a try!
Curious about how their iron sets perform. Incredibly cheap for the whole set(4-PW). They're supposed to be extremely forgiving.
We may need to test someday! We’ve been told the hybrid is fantastic!
If it’s like the wedges, probably like crap.
@@bryanwhelan5431 I use the wedges and I have absolutely no issues with them whatsoever. If you do, then you most likely just suck at golf.

@@GolfAscendingthe hybrids are great.
I’m currently playing some moderately used vokeys I’m considering buying new wedges as I fear my vokeys could be on the downward slide soon. Would you recommend these over the Costco wedge set. Don’t want to spend big bucks right now. Also thinking of upgrading my irons currently playing old ping i3 osize irons. PXG is clearing out there 0211 for $79 a iron what our your thoughts on PXG irons.
Awesome! And we haven’t tested the Kirkland wedges yet, but are looking to buy some real soon to test.
PXG, we’ve heard great things, but haven’t tested them. Usually quite pricey, but If the there is a good sale, and you like the way they feel, then might be worth it!
Do not buy these. Worst wedges I have ever hit. Sent mine back already.
Love my lazrus wedges, just ordered the 2h aswell
Nice! We’ve heard good things about the Lazrus hybrids!
I must have bought some lemons then. I thought were horrible. Zero sweet spot.
How do you feel they compare to the bombtech wedges?
Just came across this video and was wondering if you have done a reviews on their irons set ?
Not yet, maybe something in the future 🤷. We did review their putter though!
Nothing like shopping for new clubs.
It’s the best!
Do you like these better than the bombtech wedges?
Honestly, yes (Brady speaking here-Tyson couldn’t test the Bombtechs-no lefty). Both wedges are reliable and forgiving though. Overall look and performance though, I’d choose Lazrus. One of the best budget clubs we’ve tried.
@@GolfAscending awesome, appreciate the reply. Been looking at both recently and I’m glad to hear this. I was leaning the Lazrus way to begin with but that solidified it!
I’ve been asking the same question, thank you.
Yes
Do you recommend these over the bombtech wedges? I’m looking to get a set of wedges that perform but don’t cost a lot so I’m in between those 2 brands.
Both are pretty great for the price and value, but for performance, we would take Lazrus over Bombtech overall. We were both pretty impressed by the quality and consistency of Lazrus.
Where's the link to them?
Hey Taylor, sorry, we forgot to include one. It's in the description now, or you can click on this one here: bit.ly/3cHQrER
Test their driving irons!
Thanks for the suggestion! We’ve heard good things about their hybrid as well
would you recommend these over the Kirkland wedge set?
They are comparable, but wouldn’t recommend over the Kirkland wedge set
Have you tried Snake Eyes wedges?
Have not tried Snake Eyes Wedges yet...maybe something for us to look into?
Would you say these are better than the Kirkland brand wedges?
We actually have a review of the Kirkland wedges coming out soon! We wouldn’t say they’re better or worse. Both perform great! So at that point it comes down to which price you like, and which design you prefer.
Does the black detail chip off? I'm debating between black and silver. I like the look of the black, but worried they will eventually show terrible wear.
Wear on black clubs is always an issue, especially with wedges, as they get beat up more than other clubs when hitting out of the sand.
The black Lazrus wedges look great, and weren’t terrible for wear, but more noticeable wear is to be expected with any black club.
Hi Bob, I have the black pair. I ahve used them for about 2 weeks and no chipping on the paint as of yet. Off the first hit the golf ball did mark it but it came off easily.
all in all its a great wedge, but i wouldve picked the silver one!
hope this helps
I hope you got the silver. Even Lazrus says the silver holds up the best.
Seen a comment that said it wore off after 6 mos
Hello, how is the length on them I’m 6’3”
They’re standard for wedges. Couldn’t tell a difference there.
Ha I got them for $127 😂
Nice! 😂
If they are consistent you don’t need to customize them
Loft, lie, and shaft could be adjusted/changed to get more out of them. Straight out of the box for being a mass produced budget wedge, they are pretty dang consistent.
The wedges are great but the milled grooves are actually illegal making them not USGA approved
They are USGA approved.
@@GolfAscending Lazrus told me personally. They said they can custom make them to meet usga standards but their current model design isn’t
According to the USGA club database, they do conform to the rules: www.usga.org/InfoClubsDB/ResultDisplay.aspx?val=lazrus
@@GolfAscending I think I figured it out… The “milled v” models are approved but the one’s on their site that just say “milled” down the blade use the “u” shape grooves which is not USGA approved. That’s why they spin the ball really well even when not hit perfectly.
Milled V are on their site: lazrusgolf.com/collections/wedges/products/the-lazrus-milled-v-wedges-set
Es legal
It is legal
didn’t know they’re illegal. no mention of it in their website. waste of money.
They're legal. We found a website that claims they're not, but we were able to search in the USGA club database, and all of their wedges meet the rules for being legal wedges. www.usga.org/InfoClubsDB/ResultDisplay.aspx?val=lazrus
They are so bad they should be illegal. Total garbage.
Just returned these wedges. Worst wedges I ever played. Felt like I was hitting rocks. Absolute garbage.
Wow. We had great experiences with these wedges. Performed great. They aren’t the softest wedges on the market, but they performed pretty well. Good forgiveness and spin.
@@GolfAscending I guess I got duds then, because they are the worst wedges I have ever hit.
What wedges do you currently play? And what are your favorite wedges (feel and performance wise)?
@@GolfAscending Got Callaway Mack Daddy’s. Like night and day VS the garbage Lazrus. The Callaways are like butter. The Lazrus are like hitting rocks.
