Yes. Things like conditioners, or adding water makes your braids frizz up quickly. It’s much better to use just oil during the life of your braids or any protective style

I just started getting y hair braided but I’ve been a little nervous to put any hats or beanies on without a durag first cause i feel like it will frizz up my hair faster or dry it out. Am I tripping or is it good that I do this?
If you have braids no, if you are just wearing your hair out it’s fine as long as you make sure to add moisturize back into ur hair .. using a conditioner or oil or both 🙌🏾
