    When/for what reason do you decide to hone the nikasil cylinders?
    I own a 82R100RT/48k miles and I'm about to ship the heads to a machine shop that works on bmw heads.
    What I'm trying to figure out is if to replace the piston rings and if I need to hone the cylinders if I replace the rings.

      Using the correct hone on Nikasil ensures the rings will seat and oil consumption will be low.

    What is the number on the piston that is close to the intake pocket?
