CORE is also working in Abaco, Bahamas, an island still struggling with the devastation of Hurricane Dorian. I am familiar with their operation in Abaco, they have handled themselves well and the way they deal with the local population is very elegant. Well done, Sean Penn
I've never seen this side of him before. 🤔 Not until this interview, anyway, and I'm glad that I did. Before this, I had only ever seen interviews where he was on some kind of substance and was just an overall mess, so watching this just now was a very pleasant surprise and brought a smile to my face, for sure. ☺️ It was great to see how proud he was of his daughter, and I'm really happy for him. ☺️
Sean Penn is looking very well and his answers are so thoughtful and sincere, it is so good to see him still here being such a good guy. we love you Sean !
I know that people can be critical of Sean Penn , but when it comes down to it , if there were more heartfelt humanitarians like him , the world would be a better place . In my mind , just the fact that he puts his heart , time , $ and efforts into helping others , makes him a hero in my book. Thank you for being you Sean .
Michael, you have a good heart. Still, “when it comes down to it” needs to mean something. Comes down to what? In his efforts to “help others” it seems seems he is going to hurt others via unemployment because their doctor, religious convictions, or otherwise choose to say no to the operation warp speed created vaccine that offers about 99.5% protection of a virus that has a 99.5% survival rate for the 10% of the entire US population who have ever reportedly tested positive for such a virus. How do you know what’s best for other people? Again, I get where you’re coming from Michael, but have mercy on the fringe folks for they too have certain unalienable rights just as every American citizen in America. “Let me help you said the monkey as he pulled the fish out of the water and placed it on the tree.” -Alan Watts. If you have no choice in your country, then virtue cannot manifest in the people.
Colbert is really respectful of people that hate interviewing, so he gets a lot of rare interviews.... he's willing to just sit back and let the interview breathe .
I Live in L.A. I'm proud to say my vaccination was completed through CORE, S. Penn's company he championed. Ty, Sean! You got some fantastic Karma points coming your way! Fight the good fight, buddy. / thumb's up
So happy to see one of my favorites.. Sean Penn. His arrival on Colbert is like when Robin Williams would show up... your heart is just happy and every little thing is gonna be okay.
Kudos to Sean Penn for, no doubt, sacrificing at least a percentage of his fan base for taking such a bold stance on the pandemic! Praying for Haiti, too
Interesting how consciously he walks out and stops to respectfully shake hands, great posture too. That kind of inter-moment body language is very telling.
Great interview and Sean Penn..not a proud papa at all!! She's so beautiful. I'm grateful that he spoke up about our need for the Interdependence that can keep us stronger and woven together. Also, still 100+ employees in Haiti. Great work. Great actor.✌💛
YES. Just what i was thinking. Penn is clearly ready to self protect from crazy stuff but SC is aware and it seems there is a bunch of sincerity and compassion from both of them. Just really great to watch. Love both these guys. Hope SP left feeling it went ok.
Funny, I thought the opposite. From the gate Stephen Colbert put Sean Penn back up however the interview ended up going well. Which I put down to Sean’s message and Stephen letting him finish his sentences instead of the usual late night interviews of talking over their guests. It was a very good interview.
I can't tell you how many times I watched Fast Times At Ridgemont High, where Sean Penn played a guy who was perpetually stoned. How far he has come as an actor, I could never have predicted.
Even though he had some rough patches in his life, you can always tell deep down he has a heart of gold. Will never forget his shoutout to Mickey Rourke during his Oscar speech.
Look at Stephen shaking hands with guests like it's 2019! I'm so happy that people like Sean Penn are supporting vaccination, not only with words, but with money and action!
My own appreciation for Sean Penn came slowly I'm afraid but I was blown away by his film Harvey Milk so seeing him live for the first time was very gratifying.

Honestly? I wonder if he might be "non-neurotypical"? I'm one, Mom of two, and the family list just blossoms from there. He REALLY reminds me of some particular family members, and that's not just about this one interview. 🤷♀️ Might just be my personal bias of course.
You can see even when Stephen makes comments at Sean's responses - he's conducting the interview with a lot of care and a lot of respect for the man in the seat. It's always a joy to see the man at work, and it's an honour to have the talent of Sean on Stephen Colbert ~
My intro to Fox “News” was in a hotel room in Bali and thought it was a comedy parody for at least 30mins in. Due to Sean Penn was listed as “Enemy of the state” cause he got in his own boat saving people after Katrina. “It’s real!? It’s actually real!?”
@Zippy Thekid hadn't thought of that. But yeah. People do look away when they want to be certain they say things right. And Sean really cares he does so here
I just gave to CORE. The line of cars for tests and the vaccinations were wrapped around Dodger Stadium. It was a heartening site when the hospitals and medical offices were so overwhelmed during that initial surge. Good work, Artist/Activist Mr. Penn!
You are amazing Sean Penn, Thank you for all you did to get people tested for Covid-19 Los Angeles County. You are a true hero. Can’t wait to watch your new movie.
So much good on you, Sean for establishing CORE with Haitian personnel, as opposed to the kind of help brought in by the UN, which has a way of suppressing Haitian involvement and return to economic growth. I read about your work in Farewell, Fred V, so I’m so happy that your work has a permanent and Haitian hold in the country.
I'm always amazed at how intelligent, caring & talented Sean Penn is an adult. He had some wild days in his youth & the first bug role I saw him in was Fast Times which didn't seem to be a difficult role 😂 What an amazing human being. I'm so happy for him

Same! Love Sean Penn.... Sincere and Caring.
I never dreamed that I would see Sean Penn as a hero. He is that and more. Kudos to a great humanitarian! I'm donating right now.
Thank you! ❤️👍🏻👏
A great Humanitarian. Not just words and talk, Sean literally puts his boots to the ground and helps people.
Yes he is. He just wants to help people. A very noble spirit. If only we had more like him.

Somehow I don't think Sean Penn cares about fan bases and celebrity and such. He's a badass humanitarian.

Spicoli. Yeah man, that’s the dude. Just a chilled bro man.
