I walked by the gun counter many times , I found myself staring down at this little gem , this little dance of mine took three months , the day I bought mine , the lady behind the counter told me she owned one then a vet about my Dads age smiled at me ( I have one in my pocket ) this convinced me to buy it , with the paper work on the counter another vet came walking up ,his hair was completely white and a tattoo on his shoulder of a dagger through a ribbon . ( That’s a good choice ) He pulled out his kimber with the grit laser , smiling he said , I never leave home without it ! 😎 that was a fun trip to the store 🤠
I've owned one for several years and have run 100's of rounds through it with no hick ups. Carry it often. Everything you report is spot on. Good job. Thanks.
Great video you hit all the boxs I think it's actually the best video out there on the micro 9...by the way they now make an 8 round mag now 8+1 gota love that. You field striped it quick too nice job. So many kimber i can't afford one so I'll knock it haters out there...Great video.
My son purchased this for me two-tone ( Christmas gift) I replaced the grips with G-10 grips and replaced the sights with XS DXT2 tritium front and rear it shots great at 10yards I can do 2-3 inch groups no problem this was with my first 50 rounds this was before any changes like I mentioned above. The grips definitely made a difference even though I haven’t shot it yet.
I have 3 Micro 9s and 2 Micros. It’s a really nice package. My friend picked up this KHX version, quite a difference in the coloration and slide markings. I may have to add one to my collection. Kimber makes beautiful pistols, and they’re also quite accurate. Love mine, which is why I’m always looking in the counter for another one.
What a great review! Ive been looking for a long time for a pocket pistol and have been so disappointed with all the negative feedback on a bunch of them but this one so far I’ve read nothing but great news about this pistol! Thank you
I'm truly delighted to hear that this Micro 9 has been reliable because the one I bought brand new a few days ago has been appallingly unreliable. I attempted to fire just 3 magazines of factory fresh FMJ 115gr ammo through it and had 4 mis-feeds, five lite primer strike failures to fire, and at the end of the third magazine, the Firing Pin Stop fell out of the pistol onto the table in front of me. That ended my first firing session. I've sent it back to the factory. I bought it to replace a Glock 26 I've carried for 20 years. In that 20 years I had fewer F2F and misfeeds than I had with the first 3 mags of the Kimber.
Did you clean and oil before you used it? Kim era are manufactured and shipped with a heavier oil that meant to keep it clean for awhile not knowing when it will be purchased. It’s not the right oil for shooting.
I have the stainless Micro 9 and I love the fit and feel of it and I have very large hands but yet the gun feels great in my hand and it’s a breeze to shoot. I’m really digging the looks of your Micro 9, Kimber did an awesome job with the color phase and matching grips..Enjoyed the video and I subscribed to your channel..🇺🇸👍
I have a raptor SS micro 9 and love it for just practicing with smaller firearms. I actually purchased it originally for the aesthetics. It's a great looking small firearm that shoots well and is very reliable. That said, I am going to get the KHX to replace my M&P Shield as a carry pistol if it passes all the tests for reliability and ammo I prefer.
AWESOME REVIEW, I’m a Subscriber and I’m glad I am! Your Micro 9 KHX is the one I finally decided to buy, only to find out it wasn’t available…..so I purchased the Micro 9 NIGHTFALL. WHAT A BEAUTIFUL GUN! Comes with the HOGUE GRIPS that most people love. If you put the NIGHTFALL In your hand it melts to fit your hand perfectly! I also have the same STICKY HOLSTER as yours, can’t tell I’m carrying a gun, so comfortable…….this is my first KIMBER, but not my last? Remember……CARRY IT, DON’T LEAVE IT!
I think I'm going to pull the trigger and order this one! I really wanted the Micro 9 Rose Gold Edition but *I can't justify spending an extra $500 for the gold...* The KHX is beautiful especially for $730
Just bought one yesterday and ran a box through it today. It is very accurate and consistent at different distances and angles. This is a great little gun, you won’t be disappointed. Not to mention they are a beautifully and well crafted.
Man, I REALLY like the aesthetic of this model a great deal! I wish I could justify it - but I already have one…except it’s called Sig P938 ;-) Still - this is the only one I’ve seen (outside of the Legion) that made me think about selling and swapping. Don’t get me wrong - I really love my Emperor Scorpion - but sometime ‘shiny and new’ turns one’s head. Well done!
What’s the best way to carry one of these? Hammer back with the safety on or half cocked with a hammer pull draw. This is my first single action gun and I bought it to carry.
I have always heard should not shoot less than 124 grain bullet and I believe it states that in the manual I just purchased the Micro 9 Hero edition haven't shot it yet. But you stated you shot 115 and didn't have any issues
Every small and tightly built firearm like this will be different. He was shooting the 115gr Sig V-Crown and they’re loaded pretty hot. If you shot 115gr Winchester white box or blazer brass, you may not have the same experience. Personally I feel that you should practice with what you plan to carry…it’s a little more expensive but it’s worth it
Hello! I carry this gun daily, and it gets shot every week at the same time I am evaluating guns weekly for the channel. I would say I am close to 1300 rounds with no issues. Thanks for watching!
Anybody having issues with the loading? Magazine dropping a round when you extract it with six bullets in there? I got the ESV blavk and hold it jam at the 3rd round the first time l shot it, went home and put oil number 9 and it jammed again on the second round l found out the don't give the money back and now I'm stuck with it
Hello! I have had very good accuracy and reliability with SIG V-Crown 115 gr. I have tried some others, such as critical duty FlexLock 135 gr, but the V-crown gives me better groups. There are a lot of other good defensive rounds available as well. Congrats on your purchase and thanks for watching!
I don't know about the Kimber micro nine but i have a Sig Sauer P938 and it has an ambidextrous safety. The only difference I see between the Kimber and Sig Sauer is the shape of the slide. The Kimber is rounded while the Sig is more rectangular. These pistols are identical in size and capacity. I carry mine everyday.
They're beautiful guns, but they're not that reliable. I had so many failure to feeds with mine. They say you need to break it in and i did that. I put 1300 rounds through it. I ended up seling it.
@@TheConcealedCarryChannel I think Kimber make good guns. I just think they have a lot of inconsistencies with the micro 9. My dad recently bought the Kimber Evo and we put 800 rounds through it the first day we had it. It worked absolutely flawlessly. I think part of the reason it worked flawlessly was because the Kimber Evo, replaced the Kimber Solo. The solo had all kinds of horrible problems. They fixed all of those problems and came out with the Evo. I think that's what they need to do with the micro 9. They need to discontinue it and fix all of the issues with it, and replace it with something that is Rock Solid reliable
I haven't had a single problem with mine....the wife's had a couple failures to feed the first 50 rounds but no problems since and had around 500 rounds thru it since
I just picked up the 2-tone yesterday. Have not shot it yet, but have you heard anything about when you chamber your fist round in the barrel, release the magazine to put in another round , a round falls out. I’ve read that in a lot of video comments and in the forum.
That has never happened to me. Sometimes when I drop a partially full mag, the top round is slightly forward but never falls out. The only gun I have that does that is my SIG 938. Thanks for watching!
I don't have anything against lights on weapons, but on a carry gun (in my opinion) its just more bulk. If I can't get it done with night sights, hopefully that means my attacker cannot see me either.

I have a modest collection that I enjoy and I intend to leave the wife after I'm gone to sell a little at a time to supplement her income. If biden is truly our new president I can't afford to pay his fee for "high capacity" guns. should I do the unthinkable and begin to thin the herd? Thanks again
If Biden has his way the first thing to happen will be a huge tax increase on guns and ammo. Next thing many firearms will be on the chopping block. He has publicly stated this more than once. He’s very anti-gun. Liberalism is an illness.
That makes no sense... At $730 you act like it's *significantly* more than other quality pistols, plus the chance of you actually having to use it is very slim. Do you carry a HiPoint? lol I guess you and I are different, I don't put a price tag on the value of my life! Especially a $730 price tag!
@@nsmturbo5902 For $730 I'd have much better piece of mind going with a double-stack, micro-compact pistol with a red dot, rather than rolling the dice on Kimber's notoriously bad quality control.

I'm definitely going to try some Sig V-Crown in my micro 9. I had 8-10 FTF in the first 10 or 12 mags I ran using Hornady critical defense ftx.
Sig v crowns are good to go man! No issues with my micro 9 with that ammo. Same experience with hornady though.
how did it go bro? I have been waiting 2 years for an update

it is very good for a small hand person
I got a base model had to put a wrap around rubber grip on it and its great. I love pocket carry and that it has a hammer so I can't shoot my self
What’s the best way to carry one of these? Hammer back with the safety on or half cocked with a hammer pull draw. This is my first single action gun and I bought it to carry.
Safety on, hammer back. Train to sweep the safety down with your thumb every time you draw. Much easier in a panicked situation.
@
I did indeed go with this method. Thank you.
Do you pocket carry this cocked n locked?
I carry my micro 9 stg in my pocket as well.
How do you normally carry this single action? Do you have the hammer back with the safety on?
Yes. Any 1911 style firearm I carry it cocked and locked. Just my preference.
I have always heard should not shoot less than 124 grain bullet and I believe it states that in the manual I just purchased the Micro 9 Hero edition haven't shot it yet. But you stated you shot 115 and didn't have any issues

I want a kimber micro but am scared of all the reported malfunctions
I've not heard of the malfunctions, but I'm reluctant to have a single action pistol primed to go (as it should be) in my pocket.
What size sticky holster is that?
Can the micro nine accept the newer 8 round magazine?
Yes. They have the larger extension but the same otherwise.
Yes, I have one and it works very well for me because I have pretty large hands
I prefer the Sig P938 but Kimber does make a nice 1911/1911-style gun.

take your mag apart clean and oil it
If you do a press check, it'll shuck a round out of the magazine when you drop it out. I know mine's loaded so I don't need a press check.
There is a break in period with most guns. Take it to the range some and work out the kinks.
What pocket holster do you use and what size?
Sticky Holster SM-2 works well.
thanks!
Which Sticky holster is shown? SM-5 or SM-5 Modified or or other model else.
Neither…I like the fit of the MD-5 better so that’s what I went with.

Yes! I have one on the way and will have a video out soon!
