    BTW, I like the interior segments. When you own a car, this is where you spend your time if driving the car is why you bought it. As much fun as it is to watch you replace that dead Optispark on a car like this, I like seeing how the owner has kept the car and the interior is highly reflective of this care.
    My introduction to Corvettes was a 1970 454 coupe that had never been driven in the rain (it was then 1977). The owner and I took the exhaust apart to install factory sidepipes (huge mistake in the end) and the car was so rust free that all the joints came apart without cutting anything.
    He also used cotton towels to protect his floor. The carpets were immaculate. To this day, I use cotton towels in the winter to keep slush at bay in the wheelwells. Easy to quickly change and you never have to dig salt out of the carpets.

    It's a cousin to the Grand Sport with the same engine. Collector editions with the 6m got the LT4 engine and of course GM didn't change the engine plate. The Grand Sport would be in admiral blue with the white stripe and they have a small stick on fender flair on the rear arch. Both absolutely sweet cars. I love C4 vettes too. 1989 is my favorite followed by 1990 and then '96 LT4 models. I prefer the distributor to the optispark and the Atari gauges to the '90 and up dash. And of course round tail lights to rectangular. I've been through the C4 from top to bottom and it can all be done in the home garage.

    • @terrybeavan4264
      @terrybeavan4264 Месяц назад +1

      Yup! I used to own a '96 Collector Edition myself way back when, all the '96 Corvettes with the 6 speed manual got the LT4 Grand Sport engine. The '96 Grand Sport Corvette was a very specific set of options for that year C4 including the Admiral Blue color with red stripes on one fender and a different set of 5 spoke wheels that were wider both front and rear than other C4's of that year and fared fenders to accomodate them. I think it was limited to 500 each of convertibles and coupes but I could be wrong on the numbers! Really not a whole lot else set it apart from other '96 C4's, maybe different suspension but other than those wider rims and wider body it was mostly looks not performance. The Collector Edition like the one in this video on the other hand had the Sebring Silver color, special badging inside and out including stitching on the seat backs, and those great looking silver 5 spoke alloys and could be had with either the LT4 Grand Sport engine and 6 speed or LT1 and automatic. There wasn't a production limit for the CE it was just down to how many were ordered. Loved this trip down memory lane and yes I had to watch the interior bit 🤣 mine had identical options to this one but had a red and black interior which really stood out. I could do without all the (in my opinion) tacky doodads added to this C4, e.g. the stripes on the fenders which don't belong, and all the stickers everywhere inside and out especially the ones covering the warning light display and cup holder cover--and yes those are cup holders it's just missing the stupid rubber inserts that would inevitably get stuck to whatever drink I put in them! 🤣 I am wondering if that cooler behind the radiator was stock or some sort of aftermarket addition? If mine had it I don't remember it though I was rarely underneath it, and what I DO remember was the Corvette required Mobile 1 Synthetic or other synthetic meeting a GM spec that could handle the heat.

He enjoys having his wife be a part of his videos, which I see no problem with. I am one of those that sometimes skips the interior portion of the videos, and I see no problem with that, that is why RUclips gives you that option. I have no need to bring it up because they already know that this happens with their videos, and they are fine with it because they keep posting the same type of videos. We as the viewer have two options either not watch the videos at all or skip the portion we do not like. But people seem to think that things always have to be their way, and if it's not, to get upset and begin to insult when you have the option of not watching the videos that make you so upset.

    David, let’s have a word. I’ve never felt the need to comment on your videos regarding this ‘issue.’ I’ve followed your channel since its inception on Hoovie’s channel, and for a good while, the content was absolutely brilliant. Don’t get me wrong; neither I nor many others who skip those segments have any problem with your wife, but that’s not why we subscribed.
    We tuned in to see the Car Wizard at work on vehicles, and to be blunt, the interior segments feel like nothing more than fluff and filler. I really don’t need to watch someone waffling on for nearly four minutes filming the inside of an old Chevy. What I’m here for is the Wizard diagnosing what’s wrong with that old Corvette, showcasing the extensive knowledge you’ve garnered over the years in the industry.
    In short, ignore the naysayers. Just don’t let this influence your entire format to the extent that it detracts from the uplifting vibe of your videos. Those keen on the interior segments will watch them-however few that may be-while the rest will simply skip. It’s as straightforward as that.

      Well said. I, too, come for the information about repairs, not for a walk around of a vehicle or an interior view that, if I was interested, I could simply look up on Google. Unless it’s truly an exotic or custom car, I tend to doubt anyone really cares.
      What I certainly don’t come for a lecture from a guy on how to spend my downtime. If I want to watch that part of the video I will, if I want to skip it, I will.
      To be clear, I choose to skip every single one because I find them to be pointless and rather annoying. If I wanted a walk around and an an interior review, I’d ask Doug DeMuro.

    I thought the Grand Sport C4’s were all admiral blue, and the collectors edition was silver. All manual trans cars got the LT4, while automatics got the LT1. I’m sure the only difference was the paint and the badges, unless they equipped it with the Z51 pkg. But I’m no wizard, and I did not stay at a holiday inn last night.

    lol it’s faster to lookup the HP and Torque figures than to watch the interior portion, I’ll happily skip thru that. I used to do the same thing when I watched Top gear, I’d always skip thru the star guest portion as did a lot of other viewers and eventually they got rid of it all together in the Grand Tour because it wasn’t worth the minimal views. The sooner you listen to your viewers the more successful you will be. Clearly a lot of people are skipping thru the interior portion, otherwise you wouldn’t be so sour about us skipping thru it lol 😅 We love your videos Wizard, we just aren’t as entertained by the interior portion.. simple as that!
