Well his comments regarding Biden and his desire to get re-elected is in the Captain Obvious territory - but said with great earnestness, as if the rest of us are idiots. Kishore is a booster and latter day apologist for the CCP. The faults of the west are obvious - and you can bet Kishore will always be quick to pounce on it. In contrast, we have seen the greatest wastage of investment capital in world history that has happened in China - yet we get silence from Kishore. We see egregious breaches of international law of the sea by the CCP - yet we get silence from Kishore. We see egregious breaches of intellectual property rights and outright predation of private business in China - yet we get silence from Kishore.
I've followed Kishore for 20 years. He is consistently anti-western. A booster of strong central planning as a way of running an economy - he has made the mistake of mapping across the Singapore experience (a small island economy) to China. Ask him about the massive loss of investment capital that has taken place in China in the past decade - Kishore will either ignore it or engage in whataboutism. I've never seen an interview of Kishore where his views - past and present - are seriously questioned.

I think it's more due to them being in denial that their country is not as wonderful and good and kind that they have been taught to believe, so they think that it is more reasonable for other countries to be even worse off, to the extent that they will intentionally smear and badmouth and malign other countries.
And then invade or assassinate their key leaders to save their people.
It's a matter of trust from the people. American people do not trust their government and for the government to earn the little trust left from its people, it needs to find excuses to show that it's doing something for its people to benefit from. Wars for petroleum, or that they stand on high moral ground, tarrifs, national security acts, etc

i have seen this fella jogging around my neighbourhood in the evenings with his wife . trust me , he aint the smartest we have . singapore has produced many a great and smart people . i personally like George yeo more . he was our ex foreign minister , you can listen to his perspectives and he has more substance than Kishore . The US defied expectations by having such a robust economy.
China defied expectations by having so many problems: terrible demographics, imploding housing sector, contracting net exterior investment, deflation - just to name a few. It is increasingly looking like China will not escape the middle income trap.
The US won't be able to fix its problems without an expanding industrial base, and that is what the US is finally trying to do. And its working.
