I have a 2021 Sport Glide which I love and hubby has a 2019 Police Electra with a stage 2 (that he got when I got my Sport Glide so I wouldn't have a faster bike than him lol) and I love to ride that bike also! He had a 2018 Police Road King prior to that but someone pulled a left in front of him with no warning and mangled the front end. The center of gravity on the big baggers is insane compared to the Soft Tail line up. It's so smooth and rides so nice! Great video!
Hey Doodle, I was thinking about getting a Heritage model. My biker buds all said: that for me, I should consider the heritage model ONLY! All the rest are outside your level of bike size. I'm 5'10",59 years old, first time bike owner/rider & 275lbs. With you being all "sweet & petite" being able to "man handle" I know I should be able to "man-handle" the heritage model just fine! Thank-you for continuing to be a role model-not just for females, but, to us "newbs" and helping us to not be such "squids". Doug🏍️👍🤓
LOL great Video, i worked for Harley Via Dealerships for over 40 years, now retired, and I've ridden them all, my 1st Harley 51 years ago was a brand new SX125 dual sport, briefly after i got out of the Navy i tried to become a motor officer in Kansas but an injury in training changed my mind, but i got to ride bikes a lot in my career with Harley, and my personal ride now is a 2008 Road King, that i totally love............ you keep doing what your doing young lady fun to watch.
Your riding and content has come so far from the days when you first left your job! Really loving your work, keep it up. And yes, I would consider a used Harley since all my bike to-date are used, although still learning about their differences.
Funny seeing the comments from Belgian and Dutch Police Harley owners! I'm also from Belgium next to the Nederlands and also have a 2012 Electra Gilde Police Edition. I purchased mine at a Harley dealership with all Police accessories on it except the Police radio itself. Fel in love years ago and still makes me smile every mile. So keep on riding fellow Police Harley enthousiasts and maybe one day we will meet up somewhere 😉
Ha! I’m a motorman, have a motor wheel tattoo and still ride a Harley-Davidson. Not knocking the Ducati, I also have an Indian and have many other metric bikes
Just a thought, if you have a chance, try a Honda ST1300. Nothing against the HD, just sharing an experience. It is a sport touring bike and it is a little on the heavy side, a little over 700 lbs wet, not including luggage. However, after seeing you handle big motorcycles, I don't think that is going to be an issue for you. Adjustable seat to three positions, so it can be lowered for shorter riders. It is comfortable in long rides and if it has the factory top box, plenty of storage. 7.7 gal tank that can give you ranges of over 300 miles before having to refuel. I took mine from Knoxville to Key West with my wife, camping and we were able to fit our luggage for two for a week, camping gear, tent, cots, cooking gear, matress, chairs, blankets, etc. and everything fit in the side bags and top box. of course, we shopped wisely, looking for gear that could pack very small. I had a tank bag and that was it. no extra back packs or anything like that. She handles like a dream, you can check tons of videos and reviews on that. I bought mine in 08 and still looks new and after all these years still turn heads :-) May not have the latest electronics but I did upgrades that I thought were very important which makes her more comfortable, like cruise control, most have for long trips, and heated grips for cold days. You can get caught in a down pour and as long as you can keep a constant speed of over 65 mph, you will not get wet at all. Excelent bike even today!
Spent many hours on both the police motor and my Ultra Limited. Both can take their toll on the behind but both are essential for the type of riding you’ll be doing. You’re awesome! ❤
It's been a while since I've seen your content in my feed. It's great to see that you're still putting out some really good riding videos. My first Harley was a Heritage, and I loved it. I always recommend it to people who are considering their first bike. It's very well balanced, great for people like me who don't have super long legs, and it's just easy to maneuver. One of my friends has an old Police Harley, and he loves it.
As a comment on the seat, I had a 1998 KZ1000-P from NC State Trooper bike. The seat looks a lot like that one and was incredibly comfortable. I took many 260+ mile trips and never had an issue with the seat.
Bought my ‘05 TPI fresh out of the box at Rapid City HD SD. LOVED THAT SCOOT!! The saddle was The Most Comfortable seat ever. Sold it to a retired motor officer and couple years later bought a ‘15 UL Low which I love. Have always Loved the Police scoots though.
I am on my second Police bike, neither was a service bike so no abuse and VERY low miles when I bought them. An excellent platform to build on and way cheaper than other touring bike.
I bought a 1989 FLHTP in 2001 and rode it until 2008. Bought it with about 160,000 km (about 100,000 miles, I'm Canadian) and sold it with about 900,000 (about 550,000 miles. Yes, that is a lot) I never babied it but I looked after it. Heavily modified from the original police layout but, I LOVED that bike!
I bought a 2020 FLHTP at then still Bruce Rossmeyer in 2022 during biketoberfest (saw you Sunday morning in the hotel cafeteria doing video editing) and rode it home to Raleigh. I bought it because it had 6.800 miles only, came with the 114 Police motor, RDRS, fan assisted oil cooler and heated grips. The price was way below a comparable Street Glide. Added led lights all around and low laying license plate mount. TAB performance 2-1-2 headers with 4.5" mufflers and DK Custom transformer with hi flow air cleaner and FP4 for stage 1. Now I dropped in a Soundstream head unit with Hertz speakers from Volunteer Audio for 1.5k. had to de-police the bike to make all thumb controls work but aside from that, the bike is perfect and I saved a big chunk of money . Based on my experience I can only recommend to go this route as it saves you a lot of money and you get a bike that rides awesome.
Enjoying your content, I purchased my 2018 FLHTK, I financed it from a wholesale dealer in New Hampshire. Not a horrible experience, but not one without its challenges. This would be a good episode to try to shoot. They don't allow you to test ride the bikes, as they do all the test drives themselves. It really does challenge the senses and your maintenance knowledge (This is not for the faint of heart!) I've had to replace both my tires after getting a good report on the tires that came with the bike (tested for depth not cupping or other defects). when you let go of the handlebars the bike went into a wobble (another expensive neck bearing repair) and the normal full 10K service. The paperwork was a nightmare and seemed more like a hurried checklist... my bike has the M8 motor and the dealers tech sheet stated it changed both spark plugs... well if you know you know, the M8 has 4 plugs. All said and done, I put an extra 2K into my new bike which sold at $16,999.00 for decent deal and an otherwise decent bike. But buyer beware and know how to go. If you want to PM me I'll share the well know dealership name.
I noticed that in the ad that you were referring to comparing prices the lower priced model is a Switchback. This is a different beast than the other FL models as it is actually a Dyna that has an FL style fork, floorboards and quick detach bags and windshield. It is close to 100lbs lighter than the police model you have. Harley only made it for a few years. It might be something worth checking out.
Nothing wrong with the evolution big block, probably the best engine Harley Davidson ever made, the sports term version is even better! I bought the first year Evo sports term 883 hugger, rode it over 200k, and sold it for more than I paid for it! Never leaked, never broke down, just regular oil changes, 1 primary chain, and I installed a screamin' eagle carb on it. Fantastic bike but I don't race ninjas anymore, so no need for a sportster anymore, I prefer the old lowriders and electraglide sport models now as I'm older and enjoy the ride and scenery more than anything nowdays👍👍💯
I still have the 1976 police Electra Glide I bought in 1978. My Ultra Classic is a 1994 model with my home built 96" Evo motor in it and I have a mostly stock 1998 Road King. All bought used and never been into the service bay of a Harley dealer. At 66 I guess I'm just stubborn. LoL Great videos! Griz
I don't usually comment, but just noticed from all the clips sewn into this that your videography is 🔥. So good job to you or whoever films your content.
I got my 2016 Heritage in Jan of 2023. I love it! Had 13k on it, now over 35K. Put a feuling 543 camchest upgrade and boom- she is sick!! The cam upgrade was a game changer for that motor!! So, hells yeah, used all the way.
I was just researching an Suzuki S40 and your video of you breaking yours came up. You have come so far in that time! I’m only looking at an S40 as I’ve broken my CB500x, broke the engine mounts which the engine forms part of the frame. 😢. It will go again I just have to wait.
I own a 2008 Electra Ultra Classic Peace Officer model. The first year for the fly by wire controls, last year before they switched to the wider frame. And, it being the 100th Anniversary Police edition. It came with the raised HD Police Badge on the front fender. I now have over 113k miles on it. I live in Florida and it is my stress relief vehicle. Grab a cigar, get on the road, ride along A1A when I can. As far as a Police model, I did see some new ones for sale at a Harley dealer years ago. It was still the basic bike with the controls for a police bike, but no cherries and berries, no police radio and no siren. But I did like the bicycle seat for it, and the knobs on the saddle bags for easy reach.
Interesting video. For comparison: I just picked up my 40 year old BMW R100RT from the dealership. Parts and service no different today than 40 years ago. BMW boxer engined bikes have been used for decades as police bikes in Europe. BMW was the first bike to have a factory installed fully dressed bike (i.e. upper and lower fairing) for excellent wind protection AND aerodynamics. They run smoothly. They do not leak fluids. They have large hard panniers. They weight hundreds of pounds less than the H-Ds. So what is not to like about German iron? Please Doddle, I realize you love the Harleys but after all these years I think you should check out long distance and other riding on a boxer motored RT street Beamer. 🇨🇦
In 2010, I bought a 2006 FLHPI, the maintenance records were perfect, bike had low miles and was a trade from a local police department, that was a great bike.
I have a civilian 2009 Sportster XL883C that, to me, reminds me of a police version. It looks a LOT like the photo in this video @ 6:50 & 9:19. The biggest difference is it has leather bags and a passenger sissy bar instead of tail bag, and a Mustang Solo seat that is very comfortable. I can't say I've ever seen a law enforcement officer on a Sportster XL883, but my Sportster sure looks like it was made for the job. And, yes, I bought this XL883C *used*, with under 15,000 miles in 2016. The only issue I've had with it was the stator that shorted. I replaced the stator within about 1000 miles. I've had offers from a few that want to buy it, but this bike is beautiful and I love it!
For the street I've had a couple Harleys: a Ultra Limited and a Street Glide. Harleys are fun and owning one makes you part of a huge community of HD fans. Harley fans are a lot like the Jeep community if that makes sense. Anyway, my current ride is a Ducati Diavel. You need to ride a Diavel in a video! Also, I love watching your videos. You have good advice and you're funny!
Just bought a 2021 FLHTP with working red and blues and Siren (which I will NOT be using on the street) as a commuter bike after a lifetime of Hondas (still have a Golding and a Valkyrie)...takes some getting used to but I'm having a lot of fun in the transition...the bike is in absolutely perfect condition and I got it for a price that was amazing to say the least...from an H-D dealer at that... we'll see how things go from here but so far I have no complaints...Ride safe all and keep the rubber side down 🏍️
That's one big bike 😊. I've gotta say my Tigers stock seat seems fine and isn't uncomfortable. You sure looked comfortable doing those tight turns. I'm not sure I'd fancy doing them.
Hello Doodle!! Yes they used 900-s& 883-s in Nevada ! Reason how I know my business partner had an accident in Las Vegas some body back into our truck! We called the police and 2 females rode up on 883-s Super!!!😳😳
14:20 Would I? Already did! I’ve got a 2015 Electra Glide Police. Mine has more conversations to get more civilian friendly. Like the front red & blue lights are now clear so don’t need capped.
Back in the day the main three touring Harley’s was the Ultra the Ultra Classic and the Electra Glide Standard. I always loved the Electra Glide Standard because of the Diecast aluminum in which kept the price lower. I’ve always been a fan of the FLHTP. The FLHP Road Kind is a nice police bike but I always prefer a solid faring. I currently ride a 88 FXRP witch is a Super Glide police bike. Stay Safe and keep the rubber side down.
I haven't checked your channel out since the-beginning . I'm very-impressed with your riding-skills , you've put in a lot of effort compared to many Dave nz
My local dealership doesn't turn away old bikes. For example, my bike is a 21-year-old Dyna and they're more than happy to work on it, modify it for me, whatever, as long as they can find the parts. In fact, I don't know if they still have them, but last year they had a 1969 Road King (may have been a police model, I don't know) on the showroom floor. I don't know if it was for sale or just display, but they had it and it ran.
Thanks for a great video I find that the most comfortable seats are "saddles" where a fair portion of the upper leg is supported in a close to horizontal orientation "RUSSEL DAY LONG SADDLE(S) " ARE AWESOME !!!
My friend put the police seat on his ultra limited. He does slow skills a lot and it does help push you forward to the tank. When we go on long trips he says the seat is comfortable but I tease him and ask why does it need an extra air bladder on the seat. I call it the whoopy cushion
I took my 1997 Sportster to a H-D dealer to be dynoed (106 rwhp). When I asked if they made any adjustments to the ignition timing I was told that the timing could not be adjusted on my bike.
I have an 07 Road King police in exactly the color you picked to demonstrate it! Had it about a year now and absolutely love it. It already had the police seat swapped for some cheap thing though, so I had to upgrade to a nicer aftermarket one. Go buy an ex-cop bike people! They’re usually a screaming deal on top of being really nice.
My first bike was a used 2016 Harley Sportster Forty Eight XL1200X. I loved that bike and getting used, I felt less bad about the occasional ding you get as a new rider. After converting it into a minibagger for a while, I traded it in for a new (at the time) 2019 Sport Glide and I LOVE her (her name is Danvers after Captain Marvel because she's a badass woman). I'm at 48k and plan to take her to Alaska in June. Eventually I plan to get a used dual sport or adventure bike for more offroad, likely not a Harley, but I can recommend getting a used Harley. :-) Here we have multiple reputable shops that will work on older Harleys (I have brothers who ride early 2000s Harleys).
Oddly my dealership loves my old Ultra Glide (1996), she is just the most comfortable ride ever (Hence me still riding her, despite the temptation to get a newer one). The dealership guy who does the test ride couldn't express how much he loved riding my old gal.
I've bought two used harley's. an 03 heritage,,,, traded it in on a 08 Street glide. I miss the heritage and in hind sight should have kept it for my wife to ride and got the street glide straight out..
My first HD was a 2005 Road King Police that I bought in 2010 with 34K miles on it. It had 125K miles on it when I got my E-Glide in 2015. The only work other than routine maintenance was to change the cams to gear drive at about 55K miles.
I have a 2009 FLHTP and love it! I acquired it from a friend who couldn’t ride any more. I bought to just bounce around town as my backup to an k1600 ga. Previous Harley’s 2009 1200xr and 2019 street glide… this bike is without question the best Harley I’ve ever owned or ridden!! I typically put around 100-200 miles a week on it.
Funny, I have a 2005 that I bought in 2006 with 20,000 miles on it. I then rode to both coast a couple of times plus a daily driver and many other trips. It has over 130.000 miles on it.
I’m from the Netherlands and own an old 1989Texas police Electra glide for over 13 years , and I still love it and will never sell it. 👍

I am the same height as you but as you know different people have different inseams...
Doug🏍️👍🤓
Got a 2012 heritage softail and loving it only done 2500Km when I got it 12 months ago now 4800Km enjoying your insights just awesome. Keep riding 🎉
Always a pleasure watching your vid Doodles 👍. Keep them coming girl and safe cruising till next time...
I'm a retired police officer, and I'm all in on Ducati!
thank you for your time serving our communities 🙏
Did you drive Honda pan European’s ? If so did you like them ? En did you ride the st1100 or st1300
Ha! I’m a motorman, have a motor wheel tattoo and still ride a Harley-Davidson.
Not knocking the Ducati, I also have an Indian and have many other metric bikes
I’m a motorman. I ride a Harley.
I once took my Concours 14 in for service and I found an SFPD C14 with Ducati emblems on it
@ 3:55 ''My butt's pretty good'', has to be the understatement of the year !
I'm an ex police officer of 18 yrs and would love to get an old retired police harley-davidson any day
Look, Google, you decided to ride the bike home, cause' you're BADASS! I love how you love motorcycles--great content!
I can't help but smile when my favorite RUclips channels cross paths 😀
I have a 2009 Ultra Classic…..still gets the job done and is super comfortable. It eats up the miles out on a road trip. And……it didn’t cost $30k!
Spent many hours on both the police motor and my Ultra Limited. Both can take their toll on the behind but both are essential for the type of riding you’ll be doing. You’re awesome! ❤
Wow! I didn’t know if I wanted to watch this, but now that I did, you’re my new hero you’re awesome cheers, love and light from Alberta Canada!
Glad to watch you and meet you in Nashville this weekend at Lock and Lean 101. Keep climbing that ladder!
Nice job. Your videos are engaging and before I know it, I've been binge watching for 5 videos. Keep up the great work.
Ahhh glad to hear!!
Thanks!
Thank YOU!
Excellent video. You have had incredible motorcycle journey. Its been fun to watch through the years.
I just bought a 2002 Electra glide classic shriners ed with 9873 miles on it . Super nice ride and handling .
I am on my second Police bike, neither was a service bike so no abuse and VERY low miles when I bought them. An excellent platform to build on and way cheaper than other touring bike.
In the city I live in the retired H.D.s 1st and 2nd gear are thrashed. Nice research and video.
OMG the SHERF! Haha! This was an AWESOME episode Doodle. Safe travels. 😍
A good seat isn’t just soft:; it supports you in the right places 😊
You are such an inspiration! I love your go getter attitude! You are incredible! Ride safe! 👍😊🤙🏼😎
:) THANKS for sharing! Did not know about serving older Bikes either :( ALL the BEST and Cheers!
Wow! A courageous lady, taking on "old Harley's". Those things are "beast".
LoL
Great videos!
Sweeet!!
But I did like the bicycle seat for it, and the knobs on the saddle bags for easy reach.
i never knew harley would turn away a bike because its over 20 years old !
The Capital Police have used some of the Sportsters
Last September I purchased a 2005 Road King Classic. My first HD and I love it.
I have a 2014 as well. I tried a different seat and then went back to the police seat. It’s pretty comfy.
Hey Doods....... great to see that you got ya boiii Jerry into your video! 😁😁😁😁
Bought a 2019 Heritage last year, sold the Electroglide. Love the Softail frame. Handles much better than the Electroglide.
I’m a motorman. I ride an old police Harley off duty too.
Love your content Doodle.
Thank you for serving our communities 🙏🏽
You’re most welcome. For the next two weeks, I’m doing a Police Motor Instructor Class. Keep up the great content, keep riding and stay safe.
I suffer with depression. My 2016 Harley Ultra Limited has only 4008 miles on it. These videos encourage me to get out by myself. Thanks.
Just bought a 2021 FLHTP with working red and blues and Siren (which I will NOT be using on the street) as a commuter bike after a lifetime of Hondas (still have a Golding and a Valkyrie)...takes some getting used to but I'm having a lot of fun in the transition...the bike is in absolutely perfect condition and I got it for a price that was amazing to say the least...from an H-D dealer at that... we'll see how things go from here but so far I have no complaints...Ride safe all and keep the rubber side down 🏍️
5:13. Nice touch. 😂😂
😜
That's one big bike 😊. I've gotta say my Tigers stock seat seems fine and isn't uncomfortable. You sure looked comfortable doing those tight turns. I'm not sure I'd fancy doing them.
I bought a 2017 street glide because I love to work on and modify my bikes. I don't want to deal with voided warranties or anything.
I have a 2009 Police Road King. I love it. Our local PD gets them blacked out, no badges except a small reflected bar and shield on the side covers.
I bet that looks awesome. I would love to see a picture of it
Hello Doodle!!
That's funny you said chips. That's what California highway patrol are called. Just like to the TV show. Frank pauncharello and John Baker. Cheers
Thanks for a great video
I find that the most comfortable seats are "saddles" where a fair portion of the upper leg is supported in a close to horizontal orientation
"RUSSEL DAY LONG SADDLE(S) " ARE AWESOME !!!
Harley won't look at your bike if it's over 20 yrs old because they want to sell you a new one. Doodle, U da best!!
I have a 2010 Electa Glide and love it. I think I'm going to be looking for an older one with an EVO engine this summer.
I have a Heritage I can flat foot ,I’m 5:8 ,I had an FXR Low Rider previously ,I thought of the RKS but it’s 100lbs heavier ,I’m now 65yo .
Just bought a used street glide and we love it!!!
Doodle rules!!!
I'm looking for a police road king right now love the old police bikes perfect canvas for a custom build
Very cool post Doodle always the best content your knowledge and skill is impressive blessings
My buddy has a Baltimore city police bike that he absolutely loves! It’s got to be at least 20 years old.
Hi there Doodle just wishing you a happy & safe Easter
Love in friendship always
from your friend always Australia 🦘
Funny, I have a 2005 that I bought in 2006 with 20,000 miles on it. I then rode to both coast a couple of times plus a daily driver and many other trips. It has over 130.000 miles on it.
