Hey Brian 👋🏼 I love the first Florida Natica and the chunker Nutmeg and the big Turban! 18:44 Gorgeous Imperial Venus 😍 That is the nicest Lions Paw I ever saw! WOW 🤩 So happy for you! 👏🏼 Thanks for taking us along with you! TTFN 👋🏼 ❤
I just want to thank you for sharing all your beautiful shelling adventures. The combination of the beautiful shell shots, your demeanor and the music you use is super relaxing to me. Your videos simultaneously scratch an itch and creates the desire to go shelling for me. I haven't been to the water since prior to hurricane helene. My area got destroyed by both Helene and Milton and we just haven't gotten back.
Oh my gosh! Who said there were no shells o Juno.. I was losing my mind with the finds and the left behinds!! All you needed was a hawkwing and a deer cowrie.. the tiny helmets are precious and the distosio and tritons..your excitement over the lions paws was infectious! The pice of queen helmet would have looked great in my bowl! Lol. So much fun this adventure was.. thank you Brian!
Hi there! Welp, the truth is sometimes there are no shells at Juno Beach, lol. I have shelled here many times before and found very little. This area of SE Florida is often hit or miss. BUT! When it's good, it's really good! Thanks so much for watching!
I first discovered Juno beach sitting in my living room in Montana watching yourU-Tube channel. It’s now one of my favorite places ever to visit! We have since moved to Fort Myers and get to visit Juno beach frequently 💕 thank you thank you thank you!
I love it when you get excited about a find, because you already have a great collection, so when you find a really special shell....your reaction is everything. Glad you had a good day!
I really enjoyed reading your observation here! I do find that as I continue filming for this channel, and refining my shell collection, that I am much more selective with what I end up taking home - the excitement comes naturally, lol! Thanks for watching!
There were some beautiful candies in that bag of yours, stunning shells in deed. I love how much I learn from you. I never knew about the Florida Natica and now I need one in my collection for sure xxx Thank you as always Brian xxx
I appreciate the great feedback! Education is important, so I try to include as much as I can the content I feature. The Florida Natica is one of my favorite shells to find, I think mostly because so many seem to confuse them with the Gaudy Natica, lol Thanks for watching!
Great video!! I think your mystery nautica could be a very faded Nautica Lineata. They are found occasionally in southeast Florida and one blogger even says she found one on Sanibel. It might be worth looking into. Thanks again for taking us along where we viewers can't always get to. Your videos always bring joy and peace.
What a day! Makes me want to run out of house to Juno Beach. That murex was gorgeous with all the toastiness on the edges. And score on the helmet. Lived here my whole life live and never found one.
The bittersweet’s are so pretty! Being from Kansas and only going to Ft Myers once a year and Santibel, I love what you showed with a beach area full of pretty shells! Someday a lions paw and a scotch bonnet for me! I really like how you hold the shell up to help us appreciate it!
So wonderful to see another video of you shelling on the East coast of Florida. You had a fabulous day! This was yet another wonderful video. I’m always so happy when I see you’ve posted a new video. Keep them coming! Love your content!!
What wonderful shelling. Sooo exciting! Those 2 mystery nauticas are amazing, and of course the lion's paws. Congratulations. Thanks so much for your videos.
Great finds! I enjoy your videos so much, they are an escape from my limited life due to mobility and other health problems. I share in your joy when you find wonderful shells. Thank you for the work you put into these videos and thank you for sharing
Thank you for sharing your videos,,I really enjoy watching. A couple years ago, I was just right there at Juno Beach, and it was an amazing experience. ❤❤❤❤
I love shelling in SE Florida, but it is often hit or miss. There are many times, where I will go out shelling and find very little - of course, those videos don't make it to RUclips, lol Thanks for watching!
Looks like I need to broaden my horizons and go to the East Coast to find a lions paw. I have searched and searched on the gulf coast and never found one! Thanks for sharing!
Love it! Awesome shelling 🐚❤️ WOW I found the same nautica shell 19:20 (smaller though) in my last video that I posted on Sunday (Coral Cove to Blowing Rocks video). I called it a FL Nautic even though that didn’t feel right and a viewer (I love viewer help/input!) said it was a Gaudy Nautica but I know we just don’t get those on the east coast (or can we?? Maybe an east coast version like that??). I ended up saying in my video it looks like the perfect cross between a Gaudy and Florida. CONGRATS on the paw-I drooled a little b/c I couldn’t scream (currently at the gym) 🤣Happy shelling and safe travels always! 🙏🏼
Hey there! Yeah, this shell is quite interesting... When I found one in 2021, I spoke with my friend, who is a professor of Geology, and invertebrate paleontology in Florida to see if he could provide some info. He said that the shell is a pale color form of Naticarius canrena, and that the pale forms seem to be from clean sandy sea floors and the dark ones live on muddier sea floors with lots of organic matter - super interesting! I presume this specimen is also the same, but not 100% sure, lol Thanks so much for watching, shell friend!
@@solaceinshelling6552 Thx for that info. That make a lot of sense...even shells "are what they eat" 🙂 I'm going to pocket this info and perhaps use it in a future video (giving you and your friend the credit). Thx! I'll pass this along to Shell Stories who helped me with the ID too. Awesome.
Incredible finds once again, I especially liked those Florida Naticas and the Mouse cone, and the big paw of course is terrific. I would guess the mystery moon is a Gaudy Nautica, I think it is reasonable to assume some variation between individuals found on the east coast vs the west due to different habitat, diet or Gulf Stream influence. The markings feel like they could fit that species, they seem too thin and elongated for a Florida Natica. Who knows though, perhaps there's a Caribbean subspecies (or another species entirely) that is distinct from all of these. I'd be very interested to see genetic testing in the SEFL moonsnails. Thanks as always for sharing and happy shelling!
Hey shell friend! When I found one of these mystery Natica shells a few years ago I asked my friend, who is a professor emeritus from FAU. He specializes in the geology, biostratigraphy, and invertebrate paleontology of the Floridian Peninsula. He said that this shell was a pale color form of Naticarius canrena, and that the the pale forms seem to be from clean sandy sea floors and the dark ones live on muddier sea floors with lots of organic matter, so that was really interesting! I presume the one I found in this video is also the same but of course not 100% sure. Thanks as always for watching, shell friend!
@@solaceinshelling6552 That is very interesting. Looking back, I have found one (tiny) N. canrena in the FL panhandle years ago that looked very similiar to yours, and it seems like the cleaner sandy floors are prolific in that area too. Thank you for sharing!
Oh my gosh what a stunning collection ! Love those Lions Paws ! I have only shelled near the Juno Pier. Did not see the tide pools. Are they south of the Pier ? I need to plan a trip back ! Beautiful video ! Thx.
To my knowledge, these tide pools are created by rocks which part of larger system called the Anastasia Formation. In the Juno Beach area, they get exposed by lower tides and flank the shore line further south of the pier, and all the way down through the Palm Beach area. Thanks for watching!
On this day, I walked south of the pier, toward North Palm Beach looking for any shell piles. But I will say that shell piles come and go with the tides here and can appear anywhere in the general area. Thanks for watching!

Hey there, friend! The term "Natica" actually comes from the scientific genus name "Naticarius," which is used to classify this group of shells. If you look through most shelling literature, you'll see that this shell has traditionally, commonly been called either a "Natica" or "Colorful Atlantic Moonsnail." It's only in the last decade or so that the term "Nautica" has started to pop up in more casual conversations. Thanks so much for watching 💙

When was this?
I just read, early spring of 24.
Hi, this was filmed around March of last year!
Thanks for watching!
The murex shells you are shoeing look more like apple murex than lace.
Thanks so much for watching!

That's a Great display.Overlap the lions
