It's a shame the band members all had a falling out with Daniel Johns...Ben Gillies (drummer) is still releasing music, as is Johns. Just as different artists. I still remember listening to Triple J radio here in Australia when Silverchair won the national music band competition.

Whatever your view is of silverchair, you can’t deny that the moment Pure Massacre kicks into the loud part is one of the most adrenaline pumping moments one could experience in rock music!
As a metalhead who doesn't even like Silverchair (just curious to give them a chance) I gotta admit I didn't expect such a metallic sounding riff from this band.
Daniel is one year younger than me and I was 17 here and that fascinated me with respect but the actual reason I loved and still love the records today is how good the music is, Daniel did hard rock the best, this band was fkn awesome, from the lead to the drums to the bassist, I think Ben and Chris always got looked over, although Daniel is a genius it's them all together that made such a great band

What I love is his guitar playing/tone was so good that even bands with 2-3 guitarists dont seem as full sounding. One of the best sounding 3 pieces Ive ever heard.
My first show was seeing them in November 97 in Australia. I was 11. It was awesome. They had the lights from the freak video behind them on the stage.
Just thinking about the massive amount of natural born ability these three had to be able to be this damn tight after only 3-4 years of playing. Not to mention to write their own songs after maybe a year! Will forever and always be amazing.
I never got to see silverchair in concert as I first started going to rock concerts AFTER the silverchair era was over. I remember how much I really really wished I could go to a silverchair concert. All these years later, seeing these youtube videos of late frogstomp and early freakshow era live footage help to fills the void of the era when I really really wanted to see silverchair in concert but couldn't.
I was 14 and remember seeing in a pamphlet from MSG that the RHCP and Silverchair were playing and I didn’t have the money nor was old enough to attend! So seeing footage now, specially the soundcheck…woooow! Thank you for posting!
Holy shit this brought me back to 1995 when I first saw them in Cleveland. They were my age and doing exactly what I wanted to do. I’ve never stopped listening to their stuff since then. Absolutely fantastic upload. Thanks for unlocking some great memories with this upload!
I was 9 years old when I was given the Frogstomp cassette for my birthday. Looking back at this band now as a 37 year old in 2024 its both hard to believe how insanely good his voice was at that age, how sad it is that Silverchair ended up evaporating the way they did.

About 3 years ago when I began playing Bass the first bassline (song) I learned from start to finish was Tomorrow. Their music is still an inspiration to me. As it is to countless others.
