Daniel is one year younger than me and I was 17 here and that fascinated me with respect but the actual reason I loved and still love the records today is how good the music is, Daniel did hard rock the best, this band was fkn awesome, from the lead to the drums to the bassist, I think Ben and Chris always got looked over, although Daniel is a genius it's them all together that made such a great band

Just thinking about the massive amount of natural born ability these three had to be able to be this damn tight after only 3-4 years of playing. Not to mention to write their own songs after maybe a year! Will forever and always be amazing.
This was one of the great musical moments of my life. This boy's voice echoing off the roof of MSG was the most amazing sound I've ever heard. We were there for RHCP, but these guys stunned the crowd!
My first show was seeing them in November 97 in Australia. I was 11. It was awesome. They had the lights from the freak video behind them on the stage.
I was 9 years old when I was given the Frogstomp cassette for my birthday. Looking back at this band now as a 37 year old in 2024 its both hard to believe how insanely good his voice was at that age, how sad it is that Silverchair ended up evaporating the way they did.
yes they were a good band, and interesting especially back then, I don't know what happened to them either, they started doing more emotional music and got less angry.....I was 9 back then to and remember them. But what concerns me more is nothing followed on from them.....they kind of replaced nirvana who of course ended, imagine if nirvana could of continued into 95 and 1996?.....that might be why, their influences drifted away as well from peoples interest. 😏 maybe your right, they should of made another album in 1997 or 1998....to much time went by.
I never got to see silverchair in concert as I first started going to rock concerts AFTER the silverchair era was over. I remember how much I really really wished I could go to a silverchair concert. All these years later, seeing these youtube videos of late frogstomp and early freakshow era live footage help to fills the void of the era when I really really wanted to see silverchair in concert but couldn't.
WOW, it's so hard to believe how young these guys were here. They sound so amazing. I also never understood why OG fans hated Straight Line, but after listening to more older songs from SC, I totally see why. Hard rock is where they 're at!

It’s such a damn shame they are still on the outs. Ben and Dan were like brothers and friends before anything happened for them. I wish they could find their way back to friendship. Every one of them is so talented.

I remember buying Frogstomp in 1995 as a 14 year old. Read their interviews in various guitar magazines. Frogstomp is still Silver hairs finest work IMHO. About 3 years ago when I began playing Bass the first bassline (song) I learned from start to finish was Tomorrow. Their music is still an inspiration to me. As it is to countless others.
These guys rocked, prob saw them a dozen or so times back in the day, they put on a great show. Shame it came to an end so quick., but it was good while it lasted

Yeah…. Anthony Kiedis got his arm injured on a bike accident around that time and they had to cancel the tour. Also Ben returned to the hospital after this show and spent the rest of the night under observation for what was feared to be acute appendicitis but turned out to be a bad case of indigestion.
Sounds oddly similar to when I had tickets to see Rage & Beastie Boys in either 99 or 2000 and they cancelled bc Mike D broke his arm riding a bicycle supposedly & then RATM broke up not long after. ☹️
i started playing the drums at 15 years old (during the show I had been playing for maybe 6 or 7 months) and let me tell you, Ben Gillies is still one of my favorites most animated drummers ever and i’m a morgan rose fan
To be 16 and own Madison Garden has to be recognised for life. This album will always stay with me.
I just googled it , and i cant believe it! It's unbelievable to play at such a large stage in the middle of NYC at 16/17. Wow!

I'm 43, frogstomp was and still is one of the most important albums in my music repertoire

42 here. First CDs I ever bought were Frogstomp and Dude Ranch by Blink 182. Both are still regular features in my car

The Bass and Guitar tones are excellent. Silverchair is locked in super tight here. 16 and 17 years old then. Remarkable!

Damn I miss these guys! My first concert was silverchair in April '97 at Arrow Hall in Toronto. We were 13 and it was such a sick show.
