Although unofficial, Stay Tuned is the first feature film to have a scene taking place in the Star Trek: The Next Generation era, released two years before the first official Next Generation feature film, Star Trek: Generations.
Thank you for doing this review. I grew up in the 80's so I have fond memories of John Ritter and Pam Dawber. Three's Company and Mork and Mindy were great shows back then.
I remember seeing the advertisement for this when I was a kid in the 90s. I wanted to see it but I never did & I still haven't seen this movie yet. I know pretty sad. But yeah R.I.P. John Ritter you will be missed. Good review guys.
i agree, the early 90's were a plethora-cornucopia of cult classic movies of all genres and levels of production values and this movie was the DEFINING example of the early 90's pop-culture popular trends that were WORTH making fun of in the sense of good entertainment for all to watch
Stay Tuned brings me back to the ole' days, back during those rare weekends when we splurged and rented a Super NES from BlockBuster Video and I would play all day and then watch this meta-classic at night. I can't wait for the Bloodbath TV review of the equally classic Steel Dawn.
I was lucky to find this on DVD in the old fashioned cardboard box style case I have it right next to my copy of Nothing But Trouble and Suburban Commando. The early 90's were a very strange yet awesome time for movies.
I haven't seen this movie in over 20 years! When I was a kid it used to rerun on TV often. Peter Hyams was another solid journeyman director who put out some solid flicks in his day (Capricorn One, 2010, Outland, Timecop, Sudden Death). Miss ya John! R.I.P.
Woah didn't know it was the same director as Timecop. I loved that movie! One of my first pieces of movie memorabilia was a cardboard standee from Timecop!
I worked for the company that produced this film and haven’t seen it since it was released. These clips make it look a lot funnier than I remember. I think I need to watch it again
I’m starting to think this is where Teen Titans(2003) got the whole idea for the episode where Control Freak zaps himself into the TV world and the titans chase him through it.
Dude I love this movie, I use to watch it all the time as a kid. I miss John Ritter. Thank you so much for so this one!! We need Problem Child and Blank Man next!
I've been trying to think about this since you commented. 😂 It's so hard! The safe bet would be something fun like That 70s Show just getting baked, but if I wanted some adventure Firefly or Buffy would be super cool.
Omg I never heard of this movie but looks really good I grew up during the 90s (born in 87) I'll check it out I love john Ritter he was good in problem child you guys should review that john Ritter met his wife during that movie

Same here I remember showing the vhs cover to my family member they didn’t rent it ❤
You can find it now. Amazon prime currently.
“I went into this movie already hating Jeffrey Jones…”
Right of course, makes sense.
“…Due to Howard the Duck.”
Oh.
Jeffrey Jones is a real life villian but that's another story for another day..this flick looks cool. Gotta check it out.
I just saw, wtf!!
@@Bloodbath_TVKentucky Fried movie next 🎉

I’ve gotta check this movie out, great review guys! John Ritter was so amazing

Renting systems from Blockbuster was a special kind of era! Steel Dawn I've never seen. If I grab the Vestron release, we'll see. 😂
@@Bloodbath_TV How have you survived without Patrick Swayze future desert samurai in your life?

Awesome! Suburban Commando is such a gem!

He also directed the action comedies "Busting" (sick camera work during the chase scenes) and "Running Scared".
Yo, this is legit one of my alltime faves
Same
I used to watch this when I was little and thought I was being SUPER naughty given all the raunchy/dark stuff going on!
I worked for the company that produced this film and haven’t seen it since it was released. These clips make it look a lot funnier than I remember. I think I need to watch it again
Jay your the best horror movie review personality our whole family loves watching you
Omg. 🥺 Thank you!
I’m starting to think this is where Teen Titans(2003) got the whole idea for the episode where Control Freak zaps himself into the TV world and the titans chase him through it.
While this film had its share of campy goofy fun, the script for this and the execution were very witty and clever under the surface.
I remember the trailer for this film, but I don't think I ever saw it. Gotta add it to the must-see list now. 🙂
I always loved the comedy in this film as a kid, they don't seem to make films like this much anymore which is a shame.
Dude I love this movie, I use to watch it all the time as a kid. I miss John Ritter. Thank you so much for so this one!! We need Problem Child and Blank Man next!
I have been trying to convince someone to do Blank Man with me for months and no one has seemed interested. 😭
@@Bloodbath_TV you should do hot shots or super Mario bros super show ❤
Stay Tuned is one of the best parody movie since Amazon Women on the Moon.
I can’t believe I’ve never heard of this and the tv shows are what I grew up with. Dude, John Ritter - sold.
It's pretty fun when you know the references.
Love this movie even though I didn't get some of Refferces
2:48 is that what is thanks never heard of threes company
So if the bloodbathtv cast could go into shows (via a evil remote) which would you get into? This include cable and satellite.

R.I.P John Ritter he was excellent as Roy Knable.
Stay Tuned (1992)
Thanks guys, I loved this movie growing up and still love it now.

I think Problem Child is a must. We were just talking about watching that the other day while we reminisced about Gilbert Gottfried roles. 😢
@@Bloodbath_TV oh Gilbert Gottfried was awesome in those movies especially the food fight scene lol
Saw this in the theatre when it came out and loved it! Check out Mom and Dad Save the World...kimda reminds me of yhis type of movie.
Yes! That's actually on my list for us to check out. I think Jon Lovitz is in it or something? I forget but yes!
