I'm fine with variety for the franchise. Dreamland 3 had that great colour pencil look, Superstar looked nice for the SNES, Canvas Curse had that weird yet interesting surrealism and more recently Planet Robobot had great looking futuristic sceneries for the 3DS.
I'm from the generation that saw Kirby of the Stars come out in Japan in real time, but to me Kirby's Dreamland on the Game Boy was a prototype called Twinkle Popo, and Kirby's Adventure on the NES established the direction of the series. I remember the time when Kirby was still called Popopo, so I think Kirby's Adventure, with its complex change in difficulty between the classic style of "sucking up enemies and smashing stars into them" and the modern style of fighting by copying enemy abilities, had a truly brilliant game balance.
Most kirby games look fine what do you mean? I dont see how triple deluxe, planet robobot or forgotten land are in ANYWAY unideal artstyles for this series. L take.
Dude, this is _pitch perfect._ This genuinely sounds like it could have come right out of KSS, not just the soundfont but the arrangement and everything, the energy is spot on. Makes me imagine some kind of alternate timeline where you could get "alt tracks" to play in Milky Way Wishes, and this would play on Cavius... or, for some reason my brain wants to hear it over Aquarius? Hm.
Kirby's Adventure really nailed the ideal aesthetic of the franchise, and then they never really revisited it. Baffling.
